[Q] Edge People - How to set Google Voice & Inbox as default - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I love the feature of having my top 5 on the edge bar, but I do not use stock email or stock text. Is there any way to set Inbox and Google Voice as the default messaging programs for the Edge Bar?

Lock screen and sms count

Hi,
with stock SGS 3 messaging app when I receive sms, on my lockscreen there is an envelope on which I can "click" and unlock directly to messaging app. I find go sms pro better than stock messaging app but with this app I'm missing the envelope on lock screen after receiving sms. Does anybody know how to make envelope on lock screen work with go sms pro?
Impossible
Typed on my Galaxy S 3 ♡
Seconded. The lockscreen notifications will only work with the stock messaging application. You may be able to cobble something together using WidgetLocker though - it allows similar functionality, but I don't know if they've managed to get it working with GMail yet.
You could disable GoSms' function to suppres the stock SMS notification, but a) you'd get TWO SMS notifications then, and b) clicking that envelope would get you to the stock SMS app, still.
Personally, I am using LockMenu and have one of the unlocking sliders configured to launch GoSms.
That in combination with GoSms' "New SMS popup" works very well for me.
That's a pity. Anyway, thx guys for workarounds!

People Edge Notifications Non-funtional (with Hangouts)

I have noticed that the people edge notifications for text messages (from your 5 favories) do not illuminate the phones edge if you are using hangouts as your default SMS application. It appears that the edge features are only available if you use Samsung's default Messaging application. Has anyone found a workaround for this? I much prefer Hangouts to handle my SMS + Google chat and don't really want to use two separate apps.
Sorry to revive an old thread, but I'd really like to know if there's any chance of this happening as well. I use a different text messaging app than Samsung's now and it would be nice to be able to get the Edge notification for texts while it's my default app...

Textra settings help

I absolutely love Textra and have grown quite attached to the interface and the pop-up notifications that are built in. I do however have one issue that I cannot seem to crack.
With pop up notifications enabled for both screen on and screen off I get the nice built textra pop-up window for both. This works fantastic with the screen on but with the screen off I receive both the textra pop-up and the system notification (default that links to textra). The only way I have been able to alevoage this is to shut off the textra notifications on the lock screen. This leaves me stuck with the more limited default pop-up. What I would like to be able to do is shut off the system notifications instead of textra.
I have always already blocked all "messages " (stock app) notifications and frozen the app.
Device is Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Click to collapse
You won't be able to on a stock based roms. 5.0 doesn't have that option. It's either all notifications on the lockscreen or none.

Gmail and Facebook on edge notications

Hi. I was wondering if it's possible to show notifications from gmail and/or facebook for the 5 contacts I have on my edge screen? I don't mean a distinct, separate notification; I mean linked to the contact so that when I get a notification from them, it appears in the same way a txt message would. It does appear to work for the Samsung email app, but not for gmail or FB.
Edit: Just saw the title typo. D'oh!!

Badge Notifications for Text Based App Shortcut widget?

I want to have a sidebar on my theme with phone, email, chrome, text etc but I want to have the icon just be text.. so "Phone" "Text" and so on.
I am assuming I have to just make widgets with the text and then link the button press to the app. How can i get badge counts on these like if I have 3 unread emails 2 missed calls just like the regular badge counts on the graphic icons.
I am on a s7 edge and running nova launcher.
