For data connection problem first see if your apn is configured according to your sim...!! Another thing is that just remove the proxy of your access point because due to proxy some apps do not work..!! Just head on to setting > more settings > mobile network > access point names > see your desired apn > click on it and click edit > and the proxy by default is 10.10.10.10 somewhat like that..!! Remove it ..!! Also remove the port and then save the apn . and make sure that you activate it..!! Hope this helps..!! Because i was too facing this problem on some apps and then i realised that it was an proxy issue..!

I have tried with different roms and different modems and my phone always does the same thing: When it should connect to mobile data network, it just doesn't.... i have to reboot the phone for it to get data connectivity....
The APN configuration seems to be ok, they are the default ones of my carrier....
This has been happening when i was using MIUI and still happens with CM9..... its weird because no matter which modem i install, i have the same issue and the same way to solve it..... any ideas?

Maybe you have already checked it:
There is an option in settings menu for mobile data connections, which you have to enable.
If that is enabled, but still not connecting, try to wipe cache and Dalvik cache in recovery.
Good luck !

Maybe you need to contact you service provider and reinstall APN settings on you phone?
I thought the default ones were the good ones..... i will try phoning them and see if its an APN configuration issue... thanks!
This can't be.... its still not working after i entered the APN info by hand.....
I don't know what else to try...
LP7 Modem.... just did the trick... most stable modem for me.... i didn't lose connection in all the day, since i flashed it...
I hope I will find a solution that will work for me here so please help.
I was recently away from my home country and on the way back when i reached the border I simply couldnt select my home network. It was stuck on the network I used while abroad. Also when i tried to select a network using Wireless & Newtorks>Mobile Networks>Network Operators
as soon as I click on Network Operators it says that the process com.android.phone has stopped and exits.
I use miui rom and tried clearing cache and dalvick and fixing permisions but it didnt work...

did you wipe and fix permissions after flashing the rom?
Hay everyone .
I recently flashed salmanrom v 4.2 and everything went fine until I was unable to use network data my carrier gives me. However, I could still connect to wifi.
I can still send messages and calls but I can't connect to the internet because I'm unable to to use my network data. I tested the the sim on another phone and everything worked perfectly even the network data.
I'm really frustrated someone help me please
Known issue with that ROM?
If not, flash a new modem.
If you are getting your network you should be able to use data tho.

Check and make sure your APNs are set properly for your carrier on the phone you do not get mobile data on.

That is excessive if fixing APNs might solve his problem. Plus, re-flashing the same ROM may not auto populate his APNs anyways.
Hello powers that be! I'm a total noob and really wish someone would help me. I currently using an XT910 which was a gift from a friend in China. For some reason my cellular data (both 2G and 3G) won't work on any custom ROM. It only works fine on the Stock ROM slot. I've tried Mokee, SlimKat, LiquidSmooth and MIUIv5.
Whenever i go to the mobile network settings, i see the correct APN is selected but it just won't connect or even show the 'E' or 'H+' icons. I'm currently in Nigeria but i doubt if its a location issue.
PLEASE HELP.. I don't have access to Wi-Fi so mobile data is all i've got, Thanks in advance!:fingers-crossed:
Seriously? No one? Come on guys
Change preferred network type under mobile network????

I have similar observation. After first boot everything is ok. Phone connects perfectly. Next I reboot phone and I can see that phone is connected for 1s not connected for ~20s (looped). What I noticed: additionally Airplane mode switches on and off. All of this without any touch to phone.
I observed this in every KK ROM I tested. There were a few times that phone worked properly after restart.
I always install new ROM on SS Slot 2 that is wiped (system, data, cache, dalvik) before installation.
Today I installed latest MoKee nightly (02.19) - result as described above.
