[Q] Dualboot - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I own a Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus and I have a CWM recovery. I recently installed CM11 and there's a huge bug: can't make phone calls. And the development was terminated because of the lack of Broadcom's drivers. :crying: So I was already planning on reinstalling the stock rom, then I did some research online and I found a solution: dual boot! I could have stock rom and CM installed at the same time.
I went searching online and I only found guides/apps/videos for specific devices or for Android and Ubuntu, but I want two android roms. Since my phone isn't very popular, I found out there's no guide for it. :crying:
My question is: is there a way to dual-boot/multi-boot/dual-rom/multi-rom for this device/all android phone in general?
Best regards,
FlyingPancakes

[Q] New to Android - Q about rooting Galaxy tab and other issues

Hi, I just bought myself a new galaxy tab 10.1 (i believe the p7510 model). Basically its the one thinner than the ipad. I'm switching over from an ipad and after getting lazy with that tablet, I'm kind of struggling with a few things.
First, i dislike the touchwiz UI, so that is the main reason for rooting. First I had a couple of general questions.
-I found this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171089
As i understand it i have to install the CWM rom. But it seems all the cwm roms listed for the wifi verson say they have touchwiz on it. Also, the ohter ones are starburst, bonsai, etc. What is the difference? what do i go with? What I'm looking for basically is to replace my current rom with the official google rom so i basically have a google experience tablet like those given out at IO. Also to clarify, does STOCK rom mean the rom from sansung that came with the tablet?
- If i somehow succeed in doing this rom update, how do i update my tablet once an update is out? will google basically push updates to my tab, so i can download them over wifi when i check for updates. or do i have to download a new rom and go through this process every time an update comes out.
- Once i do this rom unroot thing, i will hvae android marketplace? are there any issues generally with rom replacement?
- Lastly a general question about the android marketplace: Is there any way to differentiate tablet apps from normal apps when im browsing the store?
-
if this isnt the right forum, could someone let me know where to post this.

Android 4 to which mobiles?

Is there any site that i can find out to which models can i official and unofficial install the new android 4.0.3 or newest?
A lot of thanks.
clockworkmod.com and under rom manager it will show you all roms for your phone. if your unrooted google it
I would say this is the best site for that. Just find your phone and see if it has been developed for it. 4.0 can't run on everything without a bit of tweaking on a phone by phone basis. The developers on here do that for you.
It is hard to unlock any android mobile phone to install it a rom that is unofficial and if it is easy BEFORE i installed the new unofficial rom is there a way to make a COMPLETE BACKUP of the android phone so anytime i want i can make a COMPLETE RESTORE to factory defaults with official android version.
A LOT OF THANKS FOR ALL.
cyanogenmod.com
Device compatible with CM9 are Android 4.0.3 IceCreamSandwich
To which sites i can see the OFFICIAL android 4.0.3 supported mobiles phones?
The samsung galaxy s plus i9001 does it support it?
And if don't where is the way to install an unofficial android 4.0.3 for samsung galaxy s plus i9001 phone?
Not as such...
I haven't found any comprhensive listing of ICS ROMS + supported devices.
Your best bet is to start from your device and find which ROM's (if any) are out for it. Some devices may never get support, some already have it, some are in between.
Much as I love Cyanogenmod, I can't get a functional CM9 (that is, ICS by Cyanogen) that will work on my Nexus S 4G. But I did find a list of ROM's for Nexus S 4G and by elimination found one that works flawlessly.
Be careful, follow steps closely, and RTFM first!

Cant find info/resources for Zopo C7, where to start.

Hi
I have a zopo Zp990, C7.
The phone quickly demonstrated a lot of bugs, so, long story made short, the zopo was so buggy I tried using it for about a month, fiddled with it for a couple more and then put it back into its box.
I recently got it out to use as a wifi device (because that's all it is good for) and got to thinking... Because I am a complete "Beginner" I figured I could use the zopo to learn a little about the multitude of options available to Android users.
Unfortunately I cant find much in the way of info/resources that are zopo zp990 specific.
The device zopo is 2x32gb Captain S model running 4.2.1 and it is rooted (with eRoot).
My next step was going to be the installation of CWM or TWRT, then do a backup and try installing a 4.4.2 rom.
The problem is that I have been completely unsuccessful in finding a CWM or TWRT version that is stated as being compatible with the C7 Captain S. I understand (have seen) that some people use variants intended for other devices but I don't have the competence/experience (nerve) to try that path.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
Fred.

[Q]Cyanogenmod/CWM for the Blu Studio 5.0 II

Hello,
I made a xda account for this, but I want to put Cyanogenmod on my Blu studio 5.0 II D532u and put CWM or TWRP. I'm a intermediate in the tech area by just starting to learn python as my first programming language. The main problem is that because the Blu phone lines in general aren't truly mainstream or well known like Samsung and HTC. Fully unlocking the capabilities of my phone is a huge problem. And since I'm stuck at jelly bean and will not be getting Kitkat or Lollipop soon, my customization options are low. So I was hoping to come here to this forum to see if someone would be able to help me port Cyanogenmod and CWM to my phone. I don't mind if it takes a while, but I want to do more with my phone and lack the knowledge needed to do this on my own.
please assist me,
SG
looking for custom recovery and rom too
Did you happen to find them? It seems difficult to find anything custom for the D532u

ROM for Samsung Galaxy SIII SM-G3812B

Hello, recently acquired this device, as it has the 4.2 version of android, decided to look for some more current ROM unfortunately not found, I saw that the other models of the Galaxy SIII have Custom ROM, then come here to ask developers to please, to create a Custom ROM, be it 4.4 or 5.0, many users need this help.
Anything yet
C'mon, I have this phone and I can't find any custom rom for it...:crying::crying::crying:
If you have the time, compile the ROM yourself, it is a time consuming process, but you achieve maximum peacefullness with your device. Look on YouTube or google how to do it.
