So I had rooted my S6 edge yesterday and install adaway but it noticed a lot of pages would not load up at all with it on, like food network for one, so I uninstalled it and installed adfree and still the same issue, in both cases if I went into the apps and reverted them back the pages loaded fine. Now the weird thing is this is specifically an issue on that phone alone, I've never had an issue before, I have adfree on my Shield Tablet and it will load the exact same page just fine, even when it's internet connection is thru the phone via wireless tethering. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem and if there's a way to fix it?
And update to android system webview in the polar store solved this problem for me.. See if you're on version 42.0.2311, which should be the current version which solved my issue
Unfortunately it wad already updated to that version, I tried reverting to stock installed version and same issue, reinstalled the update and all same issue :/
I have not installed adaway so excuse my ignorance, but why not just install firefox and use the adblock edge add-on? I'm curious why there is a need for adaway? Does adaway just block ads on the native android browser or does it block ads as well on apps?
Thanks

Mainly because I don't like the Firefox browsers, I like chrome much better as it actually syncs between all my browsers, especially my pc side I use chrome there as well. And yes, adaway blocks ads in every app, not just browsers.
Got it thanks, i don't use sync at all on chrome or FF but just so you are aware FF also i believe has a sync too.
cheers

Now, you guys probably have seen a few of these threads from the past but hear me out:
I rooted my Verizon Galaxy S4 today with this method, and it successfully rooted my phone. But when I tried launching Google Play/related apps or Gmail, and I'm on my wifi (I don't know if this is just mine, or if it will not work over any wifi, cannot test yet), I either get Server Error or No Connection. Also, notifications say that my connection is unstable despite the fact that it wasn't before root. I narrowed down the Server Error to Adblock Plus, but I get No Connection on my wifi with it disabled. It worked fine before root even with Adblock Plus, but now it's being weird after. I've tried MarketEnabler, clearing the Google Servives Framework and Google Play data/cache, unlinking my Google account, reinstalling Google Play, etc. But all to no avail. Reflashing gapps is not an option because I do not have a custom recovery because of a locked bootloader. So what else could I possibly do to fix the issue? I don't want to have to download all my apps with data because that could rack up huge charges for big apps. I also do not want to have to unroot or restore factory defaults. I haven't touched any apps (besides freezing TouchWiz Home, because I use a different launcher, and Knox Notification Manager in Ti, which shouldn't even affect Google Play or Gmail). So, yeah. That's my issue.
May be a silly question, but have you tried restarting your s4? I have gotten those errors before and a restart helped. I'm on mj7 stock rooted from old and slow and I get the wifi connection unstable when I'm close to out of range.

Dang I was hoping I had helped..maybe someone else can point you in better direction..but if I run across solution I'll post it here for you

That's not something that anyone has reported. I'm assuming that you've removed Adblock Plus (however, that shouldn't have any impact here.)
It's strange that the Wifi problem only happens with Gmail and Google Play.
What I'd suggest is to uninstall the Google Play updates, then reboot. That'll start you with a known good Google Play app. Then, reinstall the updates using Google Play.

I actually have had a few of the same issues and internet apps frequently freeze and crash too. I uninstalled Adblock Plus and it fixed the problem for the most part.

No, I have not removed Adblock Plus. Just turned it off when testing. Uninstalled updates for Google play, it factory-restored to 4.3.11, issue still occurs. Google Play updated, issue persists.
I just found out what the problem was. I had Adblock Plus before root, and had custom network configs. Turns out, since ABP was no longer routing the connections, certain apps couldn't connect. I got rid of the configs, and started Google Play, and BAM it connected. So, I fixed the problem.

I encountered the same thing, so I use firefox as my main browser. There are add-ons like adblockplus and clean quit.
I've also heard good things about javelin.

For android or the computer?
Android. Its not as friendly with google websites since its not based off webkit, but I make it work. Its also not as nice looking, but it functions more like a desktop browser to me.
I have the stock browser as my backup, and flashify for when I want to switch between browsers.
I run stock (TW browser), firefox, Puffin, and Link bubble.
Just download adaway and walk away. Blocks all ads at the host level of your phone. I haven't see any in app ads or browser ads in years.
Yeah I downloaded it it seems to be working thank you guys
Adaway is the best, does what it supposed to do exactly and more.
I dislike adaway because it disables redirects. and certain websites use them... I know you can whitelist redirect links, but it needs to be updated everytime you find a new one. so.. yeah
I've rooted my G3 and have had issues with pages not displaying in full site views @ all (e.g. Accuweather) or incorrectly (e.g. Google Play) for some time now. I get "Server Error...Connection refused...Error 500" when trying to display pages in full site views in Chrome and Dolphin browsers. Other sites, like Google Play display incorrectly/wonky in full site and mobile views, meaning almost in a pure text view, no page search bar, etc. Also, I've noticed when going to the Weather Channel site, the page language displays English and Chinese/Japanese = odd. I've done a factory reset and still have this issue. I know this wasn't a problem before but I don't know if the rooting or use of of post root apps have done the damage. Right now, all I have are some basic rooted apps - ES File Manager, Cerberus, AdBlock Plus, SuperSU Pro, Titanium Pro, Webkey, Widgetroid, and Tasker. I've searched for answers and even went to LG for help, but nothing is resolving this issue. I'm @ a loss of what to do...anyone help, please?
What browser? I've had weirdness with the AOSP browser(s), never used Dolphin, Firefox, etc.
Chrome, both stable release and beta, work fine, altho I generally do not prefer full site view. If Chrome, perhaps try deleting Data then completely uninstall via Root Explorer / ES File Mgr by deleting the .apk in System/Apps, reboot, and download Chrome from Play Store.
It's the default browser with the phone, which is Chrome. I've tried Dolphin to see if it was Chrome and the same issues show up. It's odd that these problems didn't pop up until recently. I first noticed it when I tried to go from the Accuweather app to a detailed forecast via the app and noticed the full version webpage would not show. The more I looked into the issue, the more sites I noticed similar problems along with the newer issues mentioned.
Will the uninstall/reinstall create any issues since it's the default browser of the phone? I don't know if other parts of the ROM will falter when I try that fix.

Have you tried disabling the ad blocking? I have had problems (on a previous device) like this with certain ad blockers in place.
Hello everybody
lately I'm experiencing obtrusive advertising popups, so after searching in my downloaded app list and found nothing, I installed "360 security" and found some apks that are listed as malware.
These apks are actually quite suspicious, so I froze them waiting for an accurate research.
In fact after searching the internet I haven't found nothing so I suspect these apks are malware
Battery control (com.sys.battery.control)
Live wallpaper (com.gl.live.wallpaper)
System Certificate (com.android.system.certificate) [I'm not sure about this one so I haven't frozen it yet]
music provider (com.android.music.helper)
The thing these apks have in common is that they all have the same icon.
I haven't installed anithing outside google Play store, so the causes are two IMO:
1. they have been installed as system apps via an app downloaded via play store
2. browsing the web via firefox
if this is true there's a bad security issue that needs to be fixed.
I use an Xperia L, android 4.2.2 stock rom, rooted

Hello
Today i've got the update for the samsung internet browser beta, with the One-UI look. Since then my AdBlocker doesn't work inside the browser.
My AdBlocker is Adhell 3 for Pie and it works fine with other apps. Also it doesn't show the Browser in the recent blocked ads.
Does anybody know how to get the AdBlock working again, without installing the Ad-Ons for the Browser. I'm sure, that samsung changed something with the browser, because with the older version the AdBlocker works fine.
Thanks
(Sorry for my bad english )
Try this method:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-to-blocking-ads-additional-software-t3883458
Thanks for the reply, but sadly this wont work on my Work-WiFi, because they have blocked the Port 80. I've tried the Privete Google-DNS a few days ago, and the WiFi stopped working. (Connection perfect, but no internet)
But i'll try this at Monday, when I'm back at work
