Airdroid/Airmirror on nexus 9 - Nexus 9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, can anyone confirm that airmirror is supported on the Nexus 9? I've been looking around and can't seem to find anything on it really, I didn't see it in a list of support devices I came across but came across a few other things that might mean it is!
Secondly, the reason I ask is every time i try to open air mirror i get "Your device is not supported", my device is 100% rooted!. Due to what I am working on, the OS/ROM we are using is heavily modified so it's likely to be something on that end, can't discuss that for work reasons. Just trying to clarify if it is infact supported and anybody here has success with it?
Thanks a lot for your time

[Q] Encrypted android-on-a-stick?

Does anybody know of an android-on-a-stick device with working full device encryption (without rooting)? Alternatively does anybody throw their two cents in as far as what is the best flash capable android-on-a-stick?
Or if you don't know anything about androids on a stick maybe you know of a list of any devices with working full device encryption? The more recent Nexus devices are the only ones I can think of at the moment.
Well I can say the Galaxy Note N7000 NOT.
I also wonder why the hell nobody answers on threads on xda regarding security and privacy features.
Every thread related to this I have posted or seen received either zero answers or just one bull**** answer.
Instead when looking at threads with titles like awesome apps blabla they get to the hundreds of answers.

Well, it can be used as a secondary display ! You can use it to mirror the screen of windows device over the Android powered tablets . For guide on how to why don't you try seeing the post over by the tech hive it will help you in guidling how can you mirror the Android device screen by using some simple tricks. What you are going to require is an Android application, Android powered tablet running JellyBean or higher version, Window7 or higher version of OS, and both of the devices should be connected to the same network. Thanks for this information about using android devices as secondary displays. I knew exactly where to come for the best information. I've read elsewhere on the Internet that this can cause the android device to freeze up and other problems, but when executed correctly, it can be quite useful. Does anyone have first-hand experience with this?
Grateful
Before I dive into this I'd like to thank you. The fact that someone like yourself would take time out to help out a dummies like myself. I don't know if any of this applies to a Note 5 or Galaxy Tab A ,but trying to mirror either one of those is a friggin joke,it's like Vegas odd's if it will work!
Hopefully I can help someone
else out down the road.
I've actually stayed away from your site for quite a while. The last time I was on it the person I was trying to get ask a question apparently didn't like my level of "tech intelligence",he scared me,lol. So it's nice to have you answer something that I've been afraid to ask and embarrass myself for long time ,this is really good stuff,
so alot thanks,...jl...

[Q] Is it possible to port a manufacturer Rom?

Hallo guys,
So first of all, I know "why didn't you bought the hardware from the manufacturer you like" blabla. I love the S6E but what I also love is the HTC software. So my question, is IT eventually possible to port completly a manufacturer Rom?
I found some Tutorials and also trying them out right now. But have also some concerns about a hardbrick or eventually a complete phone kill. How possible might this scenario be? If we assume I port everything properly?
Thanks in advance :good:

Hi seitzik
Thanks for asking.
There are some software portions you won't be able to handle as they intensively interact with the hardware you have, which harware itself isn't portable
Modem & Booloader you probably wont be able to mess with in anyway.
Recovery & Kernel can be customized indeed but not as far as from an alien Manufacturer.
EDIT: The above pieces of software are the ones that could lead to a brick so be careful.
What leaves you with System ( / <- root and forward). Within system there are a LOT (I mean it ... a lot) of binary libraries that interact directly with devices sensors and their absence would, at least, disable its functions.
The other way around would be true ... HTC apps would require their own libraries that would not find the associated hardware necessary to work properly.
IMHO, seems I huge and painful endeavour.
EDIT: if one were interested in the looks of HTC, there are some launchers over there that could bring it closer to you.
But, as it seems, you already dressed XDA T-Shrit "DIY" and, as so, please keep us updated.
Have fun.
.
Thank you very much for your reply!

Please help me get this thing upgraded

Howdy,
So, I have a Toshiba AT200 tablet that uses android 4.0.3 and I'm disabled currently jumping through all the hoops for SSI. In the meantime I been using the usertesting app to make enough money to cover my rent & internet barely. Trouble is, they just discontinued support for android versions older than 5.0 so I need to upgrade it to android 5 or 6. Since I have no real clue how to do much of anything on android other than install and run stuff from the play store, I called Toshiba for help and was told that they don't offer a manufacturer update to higher android versions but that I could easily google an unofficial one that is completely legal.
Well, after the last 5 hours of trying, 3 system crashes, 21 removals of trojans by windows defender and malwarebytes, and I-have-no-idea how many 'surveys' & 'offers' completions trying to unlock downloads; I STILL don't have a working upgrade.
PLEASE help me! I need this done to continue earning enough money to pay my rent & internet.
Thanks,
Robert
that's a copy that I posted two weeks ago in the assist forums and never got a response till today telling me to put it here. I've done more searching since first posting, but still haven't found anything working (and ended up with some gomail.ru hijacker thing which I've tried repeatedly to remove but can't seem to fully get rid of it) so please help ASAP! two weeks is way too long to not make any income... I'm prolly gonna be late for internet this month.
Thanks,
Robert
Why won't anyone help me? Is it unclear what device it is? AT200 is what it lists in the 'about' section in the tablet settings menu, but what it shows up as when I put the serial number into the Toshiba website is Excite AT205-T16I
I still need help with this thing PLEASE! am I still asking in the wrong place?
As I know, the upgrade of androi up to your device. If It announce to upgrade, it means that you can do it. If not, you can't
What? I'm sorry but I don't understand what you tried to say. The Toshiba rep told me to google 'toshiba at200 custom rom lollipop' though I really don't know what that means... and I've tried multiple times but always end up with either a bunch of malware to get rid of or one of those 'complete survey or offer to unlock download' things which never work. I found a site with pretty understandable instructions on how to complete the upgrade and got some kinda rooting tool, but it doesn't help me without having this 'apk rom' that it talks about and doesn't give any links on the instruction page.
Regrettably, there aren't any options to update your device. There are 2 ways to upgrade, either via updates put out by the manufacturer, or via a custom version of android (referred to as a "rom") that is compiled from a source code such as the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) or CyanogenMod (CM). For devices that didn't sell well or weren't of significant interest to the developer community, custom updates aren't usually an option as it takes a considerable amount of time and skill to update a device beyond what the manufacturer puts out due to differences in the system as well as drivers on newer versions of android.

Is there a way to do the Android OS software updates to several devices at one time?

Hi,
First of all, moderators please feel free to move this thread to the correct section if I'm wrong.
This is the story: we have received 80 Samsung S8 in our company to replace he old S5 ones. The problem that we are facing is that we can't deliver the new devices to the users without all the software upgrades. So, we have to go one by one trough the update process thee times!! with it's corespondent reboots and checks on every device.
So the question is as the thread title shows, is there a way to bulk update several devices at the same time? I mean, not by doing it by hand but in an automated way.
I've been digging on google but I can't find nothing on this matter. Maybe I'm just blind or that there it isn't a way to do it.
Hope some one can help. Any idea would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Ouch, no one?
Any ideas?
