any other video player...which play all formats for G3...without lag..??
need ur comments....
pls...if possible...anybody could upload or PM me...apk of best video player for G3...
Frankly speaking i dont use this phone for watching videos. If i have to; i use the stock one. I have heard is Double Twist player is good. It has both music and video support. I have also heard that Mobo Player is good. Try these both and see which suits you.
BTW It really doesnt make a difference for which player you use. All are mostly the same but have different UIs
use rockplayer.its the best.plays everything, even streaming from some sites like iphoneanime.net
Yup, All players I have tried play other formats (flv, mkv) with lags and unsync sound using software decoding. It will be useful if anyone gave good video player.
I use MXplayer since it has a option of fast SW decoding mode. Just don't like it's UI for video list.
MXvideoplayer - didn't see any flow in it, everything is as to my wishes.

guys..mx video player sucks...very badly...don't use...
qq player is the best...
try a movie at 30fps...qqplayer plays very well...while mx player lags...
One more problem with MX is when using Soft decoding, it disables sound after some seconds. Moboplayer plays well but lags when showing playing interface. I use QQPlayer as alternative, It plays soft decoding Videos nicely while keeping as much sync with music as it can, so far so good!
MX is good if want to work with different options like zoom, color etc. Smooth while playing. Though need to fix lot of issues.
Moboplayer for User interference but lags. Lags while playing in Stretched Full Screen mode too.
Rockplayer, never tried.. slow for me so wouldn't recommend.
Overall- QQPlayer looks best one so far.
Do not open new thread. On my g3 watching lots of movies, but I have a problem with this type of movies: BRRip XviD, BDRip XviD, and AC3.Koristim mvideo player and the best is what I tried, but it cant open this one.I tried mxvideo , mobovideo, BSplayer with codecs. I have a problem with the image and tone, is there a player that can smooth it runs all formats? Thank you

Tried all players mentioned here earlier..finally found Kascend Video player that works perfectly with CM7.

I'm sorry but that's a lousy player...even the stock player works better than it, and MX is tons better, if you're using it for anything thats a blu-ray rip or mkv file. The QQ didn't even detect half of my bd-rips! Next time do some real time research before pitching an app.
Qqplayer was a great one but vplayer is beter

not able to play 1080p videos smoothly by default player. i tried playing 1080p mkv .im getting video without audio??? any players to play 1080p? i think we can use dice player .Other than dice player???
Suggest me guyz
Thanks,
I'd like to know this too.. im aiming on getting a RZR and want to know what player plays .mkv files the best.. well 720+ videos atleast.. i tried on my TB and just stutters and plays like crap..
i had no problems playing 1080 mp4 music video in the stock player. the video's been downloaded from youtube. however.. there seems to be a problem with mkv audio so if you want to play mkv videos, use MX Video Player. it works just fine and it's free... it's one of the most popular video players on android and it has great performance. if you want to play avi files, you have to switch video to SW mode tho.
Using MX video player this phone is capable of nearly everything. The only thing swedroid had problems with was the bird scene from planet earth in 1080p high profile and ac3 sound.

mx player is a good choice
Hi!
The Best : MX Video Player !!! - is the first video player that performs multi-core decoding !!!. for dual core - performance improvement = 70% than single-core .......what you want more ???
these app store freeware video players are all heavily infested with spyware especially MX i would use VLC as its clean
Mx is good, but
For ac3 audio mx player is an answer on the phone. I usually watc movies on my full hd tv and videos with 624x352 reulution became choppy, They're smooth in mobo and bs player, but they can't use sw for audio and hw for video. In a forum on moto's website that they're working on the ac3 audio codec. That was on 9 november, last year.

Not sure if it'll work, but MoBo Player + codecs have been working good for me
as stated above moboplayer is great. make sure its moboplayer, no spaces. the other ones a knockoff. i used to love mobo until i came across mx player
Mxvideo player is also a good bet. Whilst I am not sure if mobo has more codec support than mx or has ones that are missing from mx, I do know mx has ones mobo is missing,
Mx video player
I'm using MX Video Player 1.5
thanks for answers, now i am using mx player

Give Mobo Player a shot.. you wont regret it
MoboPlayer is great ,and is one of the most downloaded apps ,so give it a shot
I have been using Mobo player and i like it
MoboPlayer is the best video player
+Mobo player, can play almost all video formats, though I have already got a giveaway edition of aneesoft video converter for my video conversions.
Mx player
MX player has 3 modes of rendering, HW, SW and SW fast..
I'm not sure about MOBO though..will give it a shot and post!!
Mobo player is the best
mx video player is great but make sure while you play 720P video, codecs for your device are installed
And proper codec should be installed according to your deevice like ARMv7 if you have Xperia Mini Pro

MX video player is the best for me. I've also tried Rock player, but I like MX more. The only negative point is that MX has ads in the free version, but it's not really disturbing)
mx video works great for me...
I'll try mobo video player. I had a problem with Mx video player, i have class 10 8gb SDcard but when I watching m720p movie I think it's not fluent.
I'm using something called QQ player, I think, but I'll check out Mobo.
Mobo player for sure
Anyone have a favorite video player? I want something that will play all types of files, like MP4, AVI, MKV.
Aside from finding the 'best' one, a problem is when I download something like MX Video Player, I see all these add-on apps like codexes that are for specific processors. Which should I choose?
Thanks for any help or advice.
I think this question was already answered in another forum... but I downloaded MX Player and didn't have to install any codecs. For my atrix the mx player app prompted me to download... i think the armv7. But for the note, everything just played fine. I didn't get to try mkv's though.
MX Player can play 1080p mkv's just fine in hardware mode.
I use that in conjunction with file manager with samba support to stream from my NAS.
Another vote for MX player. I've even uninstalled the stock video player and just use the MX player for my main video player.
MX player will automatically prompt a codec download if needed. You don't need one with the Note.
Dice player is another good one but it had some slight lag when I was watching a movie which was disappointing. That never happened to me before with dice.
Loving vlc alpha. No pros in software or hardware mode with a 720p movie for 3+ hours.
I find MX to be jittery in HW mode on many video files (doesnt happen to me on my international Note). I run in SW mode but the quality appears to be slightly worse..?

Yeah MX seems to be a bit jittery with my .MPG files... it wont even play them in HW mode, i have to use SW mode.. and even then i have to use SW Mode Fast Decoder to get it to play properly
however the quality looks excellent to me. I'm still amazed by this f*ckin screen. 1000x better then my atrix.
Anybody know the best conversion settings for Handbrake? I read on another site that these were good choices, but seem to be for International version:
Video
Codec- H.264
Resolution- 1280×720/1280×800 (HD)
Bitrate- 1500kbps
Framerate- 30fps
Audio
Codec- AAC
Sampling rate- 44.1khz
Bitrate- 160kbps
Channel- stereo
I use Moboplayer and it seems to work fine. I wish vlc would be final.

MX Player has been working great for me...
Rockplayer and dice play everything I need.
Mx player will attempt to play anything you throw at it. I used it until I realized that's not necessarily a good thing. It will play files that it can't play well...with no video, with audio sync issues, at half desperate, or down-scaled. Not what I wanted.
I use CIFS Manager to mount windows shares locally. This give you access to more players. If you have issues, a TVersity install may be an option.
Can anyone recommend the best Android video playback app? There are literally dozens on the play store. I find that the stock video player with the G Pad plays AVI and MP4 just fine but cannot handle MKV files. Would definitely require an app that uses hardware acceleration as well.
Thanks
I downloaded MX Player and seemed to do well.
MX Player is obviously the best player..
yeah mx player. One additional reason is that it supports so many different subtitles formats
Another benefit of mx player is follows:
If you pin a movie from Google play and it uses a lot of space, you can then use a file manager and go-to the folder and move the movie too your sd card. Out will have a funny name with a gem extension, but mx player can then be configured to look for that extension and still play it, saving valuable space on our internalso storage.

I use MX Player too. Does everything I want. Plenty of settings to display the elapsed/remaining time, etc. I haven't found any format that doesn't work with it.
Last week, i wanted to open some old videos from my old camera. It was formated as quick time, default player nothing, with mx, all videos played just fine.
One more vote for MX player. I use VLC at home, and have dabbled with Mobi, QQ and others on Android, but MX is the most solid overall player around. I watch a lot of stuff with subtitles and this rocks for it. If only the native player were nearly as good!

mx is pretty good and I paired it with Mizuu to organized my movies. Archos is also a good up and coming player.
I wanted to say that MX player is the best one. But I don't think that will be necessary.

MX Player
My vote is for MX player. I have the premium version and it works great on my phone, Gpad, and my son's Nexus 7.
MX is good. I also like Diceplayer lots.
+1 for MX player
MX player is really good to use. Very easy to use gestures for increasing volume, brightness, forward/rewind among other things.
+1 for MX Player.
I'm also experimenting with the MediaMonkey Beta, which plays OKand handles libraries as well too.
Well MX player is no doubt the best player, some other options could be moboplayer, vp player, rock player. Check with all and choose the one that will be more compatible with your device.
Just popping back to this thread to report that I've been playing with the stock video player on this thing and it's actually not bad at all. It supports added subtitle files (haven't tried embedded ones just yet) and the brightness and volume controls are basically the same as MX Player. The scan function is also pretty cool, showing a little preview of the point you're scrolling to before you tap on it to go to that point. Works with all formats I've tried so far, and I've also started to appreciate having the player going in the background (and transparent) while I'm twittering away about stuff.
Anyone else play with and like the stock player? Any shortcomings you can think of?
Mark
I was an MX fan (and still am) but Dice player has a nice variable playback speed function. It makes watching some programmes a bit easier, and certainly quicker!
Both seem to farm out the decoding to hardware and that saves battery.
Diceplayer for the samba-ftp no frills browser. I have been streaming from my ubuntu file server without a problem.

I agree, the LG video player - and its Streaming Player facility - is an excellent piece of software; probably the most capable video player to come bundled with a tablet.
That said, MX player handles streamed video better, with virtually no buffering. The LG player tends to buffer quite a bit - and I'm wondering if there's a setting somewhere to increase its cache..
