Fake Note 4 radio trouble. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have recently bought a fake Note 4, but it did not work on T-Mobile, so I tried to flash a radio image to it.
The problem is the radio does NOT work, the symptoms are:
1.) Mobile network type = UNKNOWN:0
2.) Service state = Radio off
3.) Mobile network state = Disconnected
4.) IMEI = Unknown
5.) IMEI SV = Unknown
6.) Serial number = 0123456789ABCDEF
I think the device has a MediaTek MT6582(faked to look like a MT6592) processor, and it has android 4.2.2(it is faked to look like 4.4 though).
It has NO recovery, when I boot into the recovery I just get some china BS, Testing, Factory reset, and version info(which doesn't work).
I have already tried putting in a new modem.img that did not do anything
A search of the build.prop says it is a sangfei82_we_jb5 device, I can't find any information on such device.
It also says it is a ALPS.JB5.MP with a MP version 1.000
I do not have any backups or files for it(which was very dumb I know).
MTK Engineering mode does not change IMEI or send AT commands.
Is there any way I can get it to working order so I can make phone calls?
BTW the WiFi and Bluetooth are both still working.

[q] please help !!!

I bought a Snapdragon 800 MDP from ebay. The seller mislead me stating "It's perfectly functioning" but later I discovered ,it has 0 imei number and "unknown base band".I can't access Play store and connect to mobile network.Other than that the tablet is functioning normally.
Previous user has tried to install a incompatible custom rom.I think restoring the factory default firmware will solve the problem.
I don't like to return the MDP as everything else is working perfectly.
So can anyone has the same device upload a rom backup which i can restore to my device?
Any advice is also highly appreciated.

It says " MEID = 00000000"
On settings > device status,
MEID = 00000000
IMEI = 0
Baseband = unknown.
It detects the sim card and shows the network name but does not show signal strength and can't connect to the mobile network.
Thanks

Now after flash to it's stock from this site (vache-andr*id[dot]com) with firmware file Acer_AV0L0_T012_1.005.00_PA_GEN1 the device boot up and run nicely, but the problem at it's network. He can only connect to 2G (or EDGE if you will), and when i change it to 3G only the signal lost / no service / empty bar with " ! " symbol in the middle of network bar. I have check all the error like null imei etc but no error i have found so far. Here is what status has show on my device @3G Only :

Moto E XT1022 Dual Sim | IMEI = 0 | fastboot getvar all showing only 1 imei number

Hi
I want to know that if my phone is dual sim phone then why only one IMEI number is shown in fastboot getvar all
Also I am not able to use any sim, I have again flashed stock marshmallow and the IMEI are showing 0 for both sims
In the past i have flashed roms for single sim and have flashed some different custom roms as well
So what I think of it now is that, maybe my variables list is for single sim phone (imei), for dual sim it must be like imei_1 and imei_2 and the rom is searching for these variable and they are not found and hence showng 0 ?
So what is the solution to this problem ?
PS : I have no backup of .nv_data or efs if you are about to ask such question. I have both IMEI numbers on the box as well as on the phone.
Any help is appreciated !
Thanks
Good that you have the IMEI numbers. For starters, download the latest Stock ROM for your phone and boot to Bootloader/fastboot mode.
Code:
mfastboot erase modemst1
mfastboot erase modemst2
Then try to install the full Stock ROM using instructions available in the forums, then test out and see if it works. If it still does not work, then install QPST (instructions available in the forum to install and connect your device)
USE CAUTION when writing NVRAM, you can write any junk and there will be no warning sign. From hereon, make notes of whatever you do !!
Once the device is connected, dump a local backup of NVRAM to your PC. Then locate the ID number for IMEI (could be 550, good to confirm though cause am not sure about dual IMEIs) then you need to update the IMEI number in a specific format (ensure you're entering them as HEX), if you read through the forums, you should find the correct sequence, starting from the 2nd digit, you basically reverse the digits.
Once this is done, and you restart out of BL mode, most likely your phone should be back up and running. Proceed to run a full Stock flash and hopefully you're up.
I'm giving you top level instructions on what to do, because you need to do a lot of research before messing with NVRAM values and during your course of locating all the info I've asked you to look for you should find them.
Cheers !

Elephone P8 (2017) - weak and instable mobile network connection after IMEI reset

Hello,
I have an Elephone P8 (2017). After flashing an ROM image to the device, the NVRAM was overwritten and the operating system reported no IMEI. To fix it, I used the SN writer tool to re-enter the IMEI numbers, MACs and serial and re-installed the latest stock ROM from Elephone.
The IMEI numbers are back again but for some reason, the mobile network connection is only available for a limited time after booting. 20-30 minutes later, no mobile network is available anymore until I either reboot the device or toggle the SIM to be used for the mobile data connection.
Has anybody an idea how to get a stable mobile network again?
Is there possible that anything else is wrong or missing in the NVRAM beside the IMEI numbers?
This sounds like you flashed the release-version 20170722, not the first update 20170831.
Recheck. If in doubt, format whole device with SP-Flash-Tool and reflash 20170831.
Hello,
I installed the 20170831 stock ROM but "about the phone" in the android settings lists a baseband version with an older data:
Base-Band-Version: MOLY.LR11.W1630.MD.MP.V9.3.P10,2017/06/26 09:07
Kernel-Version: 4.4.15 [email protected] #1 Thu Aug 31 11:28:07 CST 2017
Build-Number: Elephone_P8_V11_20170831
IMEI-Numbers: 3598500800XXXXX
IMEI-SV: 78
SERIAL: ELEE800....
Same problem

Hi GoaSkin,
I have the same issue than you. I also overwrote my NVRAM and restored my IMEI with SN writer tool.
(If anyone think he bricks his elephone p8 (2017), he should try to flash a test version (he worked for me, when all the other version didn't work) then reflash with a recent version. )
SMS and 4G Internet works fine but phone call (3G/2G) don't work :crying:. (sometimes when I reboot my phone, it works again but it is rare).
I have the same version of Base-Band than you.
I will try to flash other version, to test if it works for me.
I'll let you know.
I found advices in other forums that people have similar problems on other devices using "Moly Baseband". They managed to solve this issue by using a different version of the moly baseband file when using the IMEI tool.
When you use the IMEI tool, you need to submit the baseband file beside the IMEI numbers and MAC addresses you enter. The baseband file comes with any firmware image. I don't know which baseband version was installed before I bricked the NVRAM partition but it is possible that the pre-installed version was a different one to that which comes with the (newer) firmware updates.
Maybe it is worth to try to downgrade the baseband version which comes with an old firmware image or to try if it is possible to use a baseband image that comes with the firmware of a different device also using Moly baseband.
Furthermore I found out using analysing tools that the phone is still able to get some information of the GSM network. Possible the mobile operator closes the network link caused by bad network requests.

Hi , first your device is x552 model not x522 but never mind .
In order to fix imei you need to flash nvram.bin and you need to allow in scatter file nvram.bin to be flashed.
First download this firmware:
https://www.4shared.com/get/H9yvkOUoce/MT6795__Infinix__Infinix-X552_.html
Once you download , extract on Desktop , make new folder on Desktop and put just MT6795_Android_scatter.txt and nvram.bin which you can find in Extra files folder.
Now in order to flash nvram.bin you need to edit scatter file and enable instaling that file .
Here you have easy video instruction to follow:

If you solve the problem , edit this post as SOLVED!
Good Luck
Any One suffering from same problem, Below are Easy steps to fix Unknown Baseband version, NULL or Invalid IMEI and SIM cards / Network signal not detected on a Mediatek Android phone.
Before you proceed, ensure that your Mediatek phone has a valid Baseband (not NULL Baseband). If your Baseband is unknown then download the firmware for your model and flash using SP Flash Tool . Flashing the firmware to restore Baseband. With Baseband regained, you can then proceed with fixing IMEI.
You can use below mentioned tool to ENter EMEI again, But your mobile should show a valid baseband version or the below tools will not work.
SN Write Tool (SN Writer) method
Maui META method.
