[Q] Which china Car DVD - Joying or Newsmy DT200 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm hoping someone already owns one of these that can help me figure out which one to buy:
JOYING
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2015...VD-player-GPS-Stereo-Wifi-3G/32297415686.html
NEWSMY DT200
http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...al-dual-system-carpad/1422130_2034998210.html
I like having hardware volume button and being able to change button colours to match dashboard
The Joying one is pure android and you can get a version with 2GB ram
The Newsmy dt200 is WinCE and Android and you can switch back and forth
From what i've already found here are the differences
JOYING
Pure Android
CPU: Quad Core RK3188
16gb internal memory (other is 8)
only 1 gb ram
Seems like unlimited button colours
Easily update boot logo to car logo (toyota)
Supports RDS radio
Comes with SD card and maps of local area
NEWSMY
Dual system (android and WinCe)
CPU: Quad core cortex A9 1.6ghz-1.8ghz (for android)
option of 1gb or 2gb ram
only 8GB internal memory (other is 16)
7 button colours only
change car logo via BCU Software that they send you
Radio switches to WinCE as android one does not support RDS
external mic not included
Im very interested to hear from any owners of the above that can highlight the shortcomings with their unit...or what their research found?
on paper, they both seems very capable and similar machines, however, with a car radio, faffing around is very dangerous when driving, and i want something that just works
I want to look down, hit a button and not have to worry about any issues.... i know you can loads different launchers etc, but more interested in laggs, and annoyances that you cant fix.
any advice appreciated, please do list what your not happy with as it will help me make an informed decision
Thanks
Mark

[Q] Need Custom Android 2.3 ROM. Get 50 Google+ Invites

Hi Folks. In return for helpful suggestions to my questions below, I'm giving away 50 Google+ invites.
I'm just getting ready for a trip to Europe and would like to upgrade the default Android 2.3 on my new tablet from China. The existing Android 2.3 on it is designed for mobile phones and is also clunky. I know Android 2.3 is only designed for mobile phones, and Android 3.x will be for tablets (and is not yet released by Google to everyone), but I wanted to see if there is a custom Android 2.3 ROM I could use that's better than the stock one and works better for a tablet, and also has less mobile phone processes running, e.g. I had to install a free app to put the darn thing into "Airplane Mode" (which turned off a lot of the mobile phone processes) and still use Wi-Fi, which increased the battery life by 300% !!
So, my Android 7" tablet specs are:
- full details at: www[dot]techtoys2go[dot]com/quicksilver
- Operating System: Android 2.3.3, Kernel version 2.6.35.7
- Processor: Telechips TCC8803 1.2GHz
- Screen: 7", 800*480 multi-touch
- Touchscreen: capacitive (I did NOT buy the cheaper resistive version)
- Memory: 512MB DDR3
- Storage: 4GB built in
- Card Reader: microSD up to 32GB
- Audio: speaker, phones, mic
- Other Ports: miniHDMI, miniUSB
- Webcam: VGA front facing
- 3G Network: 3G ready, external dongle
- Wi-Fi: 802.11b/g
- G Sensor: yes
- Battery: 3.7v 3600mAh lithium
Which custom Android 2.3 ROM do you think will work on this and is good? Help me out guys, I need an answer quick so I can root/burn this sucker in the next few days before my trip on Monday. First 50 cool responses get a Google+ invite Hope that's tempting enough. LOL
Cheers
Steve
You should take a look over on Android Tablet Forum, they have sections for a lot of Chinese Tablets:

Thanks Killall. I took a look, but didn't see anything useful there. Cheers
Well, it seems there is a nice looking ROM specifically for these cheap Chinese tablets. I'm not sure if it will work on my 7" Android tablet, but I guess the only way to find out is to try it. If anyone has any suggestions before I try it, let me know:

What I'm wondering is who made it for them because I highly doubt they developed it on there own. Their web site says android 4.1 which is correct unless you buy it from dicks sporting goods they exclusively have (for now) the 4.4 version. I would really like to know how easy it would be to root this thing. I do a lot of hunting and it would be a great tool to have in the woods considering that it has the decoding software for the trail cameras android devices unfortunately cant do it on there own I've tried with my Rooted Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II SCH-i605 and my old Rooted Samsung Stratosphere SCH-i405.
Please help with root ideas/info
Ive tried towelroot with no success and not finding any root build anywhere online. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm not a developer, so taking on the root programming on my own would be beyond me... Attached screengrab of kernel and build info.
Thx
Successful root
Hope this isn't too late of news for ya,
I successfully rooted my VU100 on 4.4.2 using Kingo Root. I tried using Root Genius but it got stuck on 64%. I stopped Root Genius in the middle of the root and restarted my tablet with no ill effects. Then I started Kingo Root and it succeeded no problem. I just followed the directions at http(colon)//devs-lab(dot)com/2015/06/root-any-android-device-in-single-click(dot)html
I also emailed Wildgame Innovations to see if they were able to give out any info as into different OS updates, so I'm still waiting to hear about that.
Hope this info is valuable to you,
Blake
EDIT:
I was playing around trying to figure out how to create a backup of the ROM and ended up having to redo the Kingo Root and this time instead of showing "VU100" as the device, it showed "86V_HD". I did a google search and found this.. http(colon)//www(dot)androiddevice(dot)info/submission/25358/show .
It seems to follow along with everything about the device and it looks like a guy by the name of Peter Guo made the custom ROM for WGI Innovations, atleast that is what I am gathering....
bootloop
Now my tablet is in a boot loop because I changed some things in build.prop and there is no CWM recovery for this tablet. Be careful if you decide to root your tablet.
Blake

Android box Rikomagic MK68 - KODI and other info

I see that many people is interested in Android boxes lately, so because of that I want to share my thoughts of Rikomagic MK68 which is newest media player from this company. For me this device is good choice because it is not too expensive and at the same time it offers good hardware and very good software optimization.
The Rikomagic MK68 is based on 64-bit SoC Octa-core CPU RK3368 with the maximum speed 1.5 GHz. It has also 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal memory, if you need more space than you can upgrade it with memory card maximum 32 GB where the GPU is PowerVR G6110. As you can see it has enough strong hardware for any activity.
Many people bought or is interesting in these kind of devices mostly because of KODI. Because these application offers many useful features for watching movies. I've watched several movies in HD and some in SD quality and I can freely say that everything worked perfectly normal. Talking about software or to be precise OS, the Rikomagic MK68 comes with Android 5.1.1 which does not have any unwanted software. So this is good because you don't need to spend your time for deleting trash.
It has 3 x USB ports where the one USB port is for OTG function, but it has also 1 x HDMI port, 1 x optical output, 1 x microSD and 1 x LAN port. LAN supports 10/100/1000M connectivity where the WIFI supports 2.4GHz / 5GHz dual band. So you can see that you have two available choices in which you can choose how you will connect your box to your home network.
Until now I did not find any problems during use so I am very satisfied with this Android box, for more information you can visit their official website. Also for benchmark test, pictures you can go to the site: Rikomagic MK68
very good android box in general, but the only problem i found its relative to mac adress, always changing on every single boot. very weird seems like a firmware bug

Booting netbook with WM8880 CPU

Good night everyone,
I have my little girl very angry because her netbook has broken
It is a G-Anica model netbook, with WM8880 CPU, Dual Core Cortex A9 512 MB RAM and 4 GB hard disk.
The problem is that when we hit the power button, the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat (the doll) home screen appears and that's it, and it stays that way indefinitely.
I have tried the reset of the back of the netbook, as well as a series of key combinations to bring up the Android menu to reset, but all with a negative result. I have searched Youtube for netbook firmware that resembles or has the same CPU and I have done as the tutorials to record that firmware on an SD card and insert it in the netbook and all with a negative result.
I don't know if anyone could help me, please. I have my daughter crying heartbroken and also since we are confined by COVID 19 no one can fix it for us. Let's see if any of you who know more about these topics could give us joy.
Regards
