Is there a way to port Flipboard briefing from s6 to our tab s?
Apparently ther is a way since I have it running on my T-700. TWDetox
Ask basic086 (made the rom) if it would be possible to just install it by itself or he is making a t-705 version you might want to try.
Ive extracted the apk from rom, and copied in system app with right permission. Both with touchwiz and nova flipboard briefing is not working (there is not, at all)
Tried to install normally but it fails...
You would have to ask Basic086 why that is since it does work in his rom. I only have the brefing too I haven't decided if I want to reinstall full flipboard as well since brefing works for about all I use flipboard for.
Just asked to basic...but I think he's traveling right now...?
you have to think like this; most of S6 stuffs are based on Android 5.0 64bit, versus Tab S is 32 bit.
some S6 apps requires 64 bit binaries to work. Even if Tab S on lollipop 5.0 but based on 32 bit, becasuse of 64 bit binarries, S6 apps may not work.

Yes...but i cant figure why if I take the apk from the twdetox rom, where briefing is working, then isn't working on my tab...
"This is not from a rom developer and any ideas this user or others like him have are just his opinion and should not be taken as technical advice" -- nameless lawyer
With that out of the way maybe it has something to do with the launcher not being stock tab s touchwise and actually right now being from the tab A. Oddly enough I have yet to figure out exactly what the tab a has as far as specs, pre-installed software/bloatware, or really any concrete information. So it is just a thought that it may have something to do with the tab A launcher.

The version for the tab does not even let me download it, I have tried the remote but it looks wrong and I want the video streaming function as this is one of the main reasons for buying it.
The Smart View-app isn't ready for the tabs yet.
Samsung issued a statement, when they first launched SmartView for the SGSII, that 8.9 and 10.1 tablets will be able to download the app in the late summer.. So just be patience (like me! )
I tried a downloadable .apk version on my 10.1 in combination with the d8000...
The remote function works, but when trying to switch to watch tv it crashes.
Then i found a ported version, which should work on more android devices.
That compatibility i can't check, but still the same crash on the 10.1...
i thought Samsung said they would put it on the 10.1 and 9.8 by default...
One of the main reasons, for bying it...

Have you even bothered to read my post right before yours?
Samsung never said it would be on the tab from the get-go.. They promised to release it "after the summer".. And seeing how vague that statement is (doesn't even tell if they mean summer in Miami, Stockholm, Capetown or Sidney), it's pretty safe to say that they're still in keeping with their promise..
any news about samsung second TV?

Nope, no news yet.
I wrote with a Samsung-dude last week, and all he could say is that they're still planning for at september/early october-release
See here for the download link and information about the app.

Hi,
I want to try the Smart View-Tab version on my Galaxy Note because the non-Tab version has low resolution.
Can any Tab owner share the new version of the Smart View-Tab app here ?
the apk please...
Also we have a discussion about this on the Note section:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420918&page=2
I'd appreciate if anyone could share this app from their Tab 10...
Smart view Tab:
http://www.multiupload.com/D33D9HAF2Z
thank you.
but I get a package corrupt error.
can you check if it's not corrupted while uploading ?
package corrupt
Downloaded and installed here without any problems...
I've got a Samsung 5700 .. doesn't work though (even though I can activate network remote in my TV menu...) Anyone any ideas? What does my TV mean by Network Remote then?!
any news ?
can anyone else upload the Tab app from their Tab 10 ?
Did you try in the market? Both Samsung remote apps (tablet/non tablet version) show there?
"Samsung" as the query?
They don't list the "Tab" version to the Galaxy Note.
Don't know if this is what you are looking for, I use it to control my 7000 series Samsung LED on my Tab 10.1. For some reason I don't get the dual view as an option but I have read others are having the same issue. Works fine for me, full screen, as the other one is really small when it loads.

forgot the exact number, but dual view only works for d6000 or D7000+
Hi! As the title states I'd like to request a custom ROM. First and most important, it has to work on my International Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300.
The other things I'd like is:
It should be based on the CyanogenMod 10.2 or 11 (whichever is best/most stable at the moment)
I want it to have Samsungs video player from the S3 or S4
It should not run TouchWiz as the launcher, instead I'd like the latest Google Home and Search.
If possible, put the Chrome or Chrome Beta browser as standard since I prefere those over the original browser.
If you have any of your own suggestions of other things that should be added, please let me know about them! With that I mean if you want to add something from the Carbon ROM or so.
It should be noted that I don't have the slightest clue if this can be done or not, but if it could, I'd be forever grateful to the one who accepts this request and delivers a ROM with these features.
Many thanks in advance!
XDA does not do requests and devs are hardly likely to read this post .
Hello, I am new to this forum,
I have a samsung galaxy s4 zoom, running 4.2.2 jellybean. When I go to download certain apps for my gear fit, suck as dripping paint clock, it says my it is incompatible with my device. I believe it is because i need 4.3 or higher. Does anyone know of a way which would be easy for me to make this work?
Thanks
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 LTE Edition, and I was wondering if I can install stock Android on it without loosing S-pen Driver support. Also I'm not getting the KitKat Update because I'm currently living in Greece, even though I'm using the GUI in English, so that kinda annoys me. Anyway, I hope there's a solution.:good:

Cyanogenmod is about as close as you are going to get to stock Android for it. S Pen works, but you won't have any built-in S-Note or handwriting keyboard type stuff. You will need 3rd party app replacements. As far as the update, it's pretty common for them not to get auto-updates if you are in a different region and they haven't pushed out the OTA there. It's best to update via the computer anyway as it creates less issues generally.
Cyanogenmod?

On cyanogen mods website they state only the original Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, not 2014 edition are supported. Also, can't I use the Samsung S-pen apps if I port them over to CM? And lastly - how can I update via the computer. THx

No. They're usually tied to the TouchWiz framework and it's hard to nearly impossible to get many Samsung apps working properly on non TouchWiz roms.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ Search for P605 and download the one you want for the region the tablet is original from or if you have a rom picked out and they suggest a different base to have installed first, use that one. Instructions will be the same either way. You can follow the guide here:
http://www.howtoroot.mobi/2014/06/flash-p605xxucne2-android-442-kit-kat.html
Or any of the other 1000s of guides for how to update via Odin on here, any other Android phone/tablet forum, YouTube, etc.
Hi, at the beginning I want to point out that this is my first thread, so if I did something wrong I apologize. I also want to apologize for my English.
Recently, on many old Samsung phones, the AccuWeather weather widget stopped working for me. First, I noticed the problem on the Galaxy A5 2015 with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. When I wanted to enter the city into the weather, it did not find my town, and after entering larger ones it was, but after selecting them suddenly disappeared, I tried to use the map, it showed me several large European cities there, but after selecting any it wrote that the service is now unavailable. I decided it was a temporary failure, so I ignored it. Some time later I managed to fix my Galaxy Note3 with Android 5.0 Lollipop, so there I wanted to introduce the weather, but the effect was the same. A month later I reset my Galaxy S4 with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the effect when trying to enter the weather city the same, 2 days later I got a Galaxy S2 with Android 4.1.2 JellyBean, the effect exactly the same. I remembered that on my second S4, but with Android 4.3 JellyBean, I have the weather introduced, so I charged it to check it, the weather was there, but it showed the state of March 26, 2023, after trying to refresh itself refreshed the moment, but finally there was the same effect, when trying to add another city, the same effect as on the phones mentioned earlier. Maybe someone knows what the problem is? If AccuWeather doesn't work, maybe there's another widget that looks like the original one? Please help.
Accuweather requires Android 6.0 or newer. So that's why it doesn't work on Android 5.0 anymore.
Ehhhh, can I use a custom app to use this feature? I want it to look like the original. By the way, I will add that on my Xperia Z2 with 5.0.2 works AccuWeather.

If that works on Z2 then maybe it's older version. I just look out playstore that newer versions requires Android 6.0+
And it is possible to somehow make it work, for example, a custom widget, but to look like the original or something like that?

Watched the same behavior...
AFAIK no custom widget will work since the app itself is the one to blame.
Accuweather v5.8.6 was the latest version to support Android 4.1+.
Search the web and install it. It works. The widgets are slightly different though.
