Sim Unlock With Custom ROM (P769) - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

So I installed a custom rom on my phone after unlocking BL and all that a while ago.
I recently got the unlock code from my service provider and was trying to sim unlock the L9. I get an error saying I have an invalid code (which it isn't). A quick google told me that custom roms sometimes won't let you use unlock codes.
I tried using the guide from @cmahendra to reset back to the original kdz/ROM for the phone but it stops at 15% and says phone not connected (even through all the drivers install/are installed correctly).
Does anyone know best way to unlock the phone with the unlock pin provided? Or at least how to reset it back to normal?

S3 relocked?

I have a factory locked S3, but my provider gives out the unlocking code for free. I put in a sim from another provider, got asked for the code, entered it and it worked.
I then rooted the phone.
However, after a few days I wanted to remove root and reflashed stock firmware with Odin. I searched out the proper file here at xda and flashed it. I then got an error about messaging stopped everytime I booted and searched some more. The solution was to flash with Odin again, but check upgrade bootloader. After that the phone works fine and everything is in place like it was new.
But, my phone has been locked again and my code does not work anymore. I have called my provider (leaving out the root and flashingpart) and they say that if the unlock is not working I must send it to them so they can unlock it.
So I have these questions:
1. Having done what I have done, will TriangleAway + reflashing stock with Odin remove every trace of my "tampering"?
2. What can they do to the phone that I cannot do myself with som advice from xda?
3. How many attempts are there of entering the unlock code? It still asks for a code. I do not get any message about too many tries. But I have must have punched the code more than three times...
I have read that people get their IMEI changed when reflashing, but mine is still original. I can not understand why the operator lock has come back.
Please help!
1) I believe so yes (not sure, I'm new to this forum just what I've read)
2) They can block the IMEI if the phone was lost/stolen
3) I am not sure with Samsung/Android phones but when I was unlocking my mums Nokia C3 it only allowed me to enter a code three times before displaying an error message.
It is not stolen or lost. I have bought it from my operator myself. I talked to them today and there is no block on this phone. It does work with my operators sim, but no other sims.
My question was that they can do to unlock ut that I cannot do myself?

Everything, they are your carrier.
None of us can generate unlock codes for the phone, they can get the unlock codes and make sure it's 100% unlocked

What about the Voodoo sim unlock app ? You'll need root access though. the app has also been removed from the Play Store
The dev's site, you can download and sideload the app from here:

That's not an unlock code though it's just temporary. A factory unlock is permanent (or so it should be)

I spoke to my carrier and they said that there was only one valid code for my IMEI, and that does not work anymore. It did work once, but after reflashing the firmware with Odin, the lock came back and now the code does not work.
Perhaps they just replace the phone with a swap unit? Therefore I ask again, will TriangleAway and reflashing stock remove all traces of rooting/tampering? If not I will get the phone back and be forced to pay for the service as well.
+1 for this problem.
I unlocked mine with the voodoo unlocker and was fine for a couple of months. Flashed a newer version of cm10 and was asked to enter Sim unlock code. This time I got the pin from my carrier but with that number it says Sim unlock unsuccessful.
Anyone else had this problem? Anyone know of a solution?
At the moment I just have a fancy mp3 player/camera :silly:
Voodoo sim doesn't work properly with then latest firmwarea but theres a new app 'Galaxsim-unlock' that I can recommend. Your'llshare find it over in the themes and apps section

You can try to use Valhalla ( Voodoo has disappeared from the Play Store ) :

I've managed to get mine back to unlocked.
I was on cm10 and then when flashing a newer version the lock came back. I was originally using voodoo sim unlock but that wouldnt work this time so rang my carrier and got an official code which would not work either.
Flashed back to stock using odin making sure to use the network branded ROM i was originally on and not just a stock ROM, then enter the code the carrier gave me and this time it worked!
Guessing you must be running a stock carrier branded ROM for the code to register properly and unlock.
Hope this works for anyone else!

[Q] SIM Unlock on Custom ROM

I got a SIM unlock code from Tmobile, however it is not working with CM10, so I went back to the RUU and tried and it still didnt work. Any ideas of what I need to do?
contact the person you got the unlock code from to re-enter the code.. or you can always s-off your device and use the unlock sim for s-off method which would disable the sim lock on your phone

[Q]SOLVED How to enter SIM unlock network code after flashing to a custom Kernel/ROM?

I have an xperia X8 with some naa kernel and xperiadroidx 6.1.
The thing is that with this custom kernel and ROM when i put a SIM from another network carrier, the question asking for the SIM-unlock code input is not showing up. (this appeared before when phone was in stock state)
What do i need to do?
Is it possible to do it without re-flashing to stock?
...or i have to put back the phone to stock? What is the easiest/safest/best way to do this? using the restore option in "PC companion" SE app?
Is it only needed to put the stock kernel and ROM, or Do i also need to re-lock the bootloader?
I don't need the whole explanation, just a little guidance, just a few tips to know what to do, then i can google/search myself for the specifics on how to actually do it.
thanks in advance
Solved!
Pc companion didn't worked. All was fine except that it says that "there wasn't any update for my phone". The same happened with sony exclusive "update service".
What worked was flashtools and a stock kernel/ROM available here in XDA.
Once i flashed with this stock kernel/firmware, the "SIM network unlock PIN" became automatically displayed when i turn on the phone with a SIM from a different/locked network carrier.
Then as i already had the PIN (which i get from my old network carrier), put it there and it worked as it should. Unlocked...
No need to re-lock the bootloader or anything else, just flashing with stock kernel/firmware suffice.
Pd: I wonder why is that the custom cyanogenmod rom that i previously had, or for that matter, any other custom ROM, don't have this "SIM network unlock PIN" available.
It is almost insane to have a perfectly working and personalized custom ROM, and have to flash back to stock just to "network-unlock" the phone with a legitimate obtained code.

As I know custom ROMs won't let you type in the unlock code, only the stock ones. I had the same situation with my Optimus 2x way back.
Download and run b2cappsetup.exe with admin rights, connect your phone in d/l mode, and it should automatically download and flash the latest available stock rom. If you're stuck search for b2cappsetup in the forum as there are many threads about it. good luck.

unlocking h901 t mobile?

yeah, it uses the device unlock app.no it says i'm not eligible for unlock.the seller who sold it to me even requested tmo and was denied.tried rooting and messing with system files now it says can't connect to remote server even after reflashing stock using LGUP.Tried using the f600l rom port, no you can't get the sim unlock prompt to pop up.tried blisspop and resurrection roms, they do prompt for a sim code but the codes do not work it says 255 retries remaining<<<something not right there.I do have the right unlock codes, just get them from an unlocking site or ebay.Speaking of unlocking sites, they want 60usd+ to unlock the tmo variant WTF!! Also if you try to get into the sim unlock menu using stock rom (dial 2945#*901#) it just says device permanently locked for everything. Now if there was a way to get a stock rom or port from say at&t variant which has the sim unlock prompt it just might work.
The closest i've got to unlocking this thing i the actual network unlock screen that comes after you flash the stock firmwire through LGUP. it said 0/30 attempts or something for a brief second or two the first boot after reflashing and then it restarts before you can even do anything into os never to be seen again unless you reflash it again but again you will only see it for a second and its gone again.I wonder if there is a way to keep that screen on so you can attempt to unlock it via code.
Also I'm pretty sure the device unlock app is just there to check prerequisites of your t mo account. In reality it does unlock the same way as other phones.probably just applies unlock code from tmo database once it checks you've met the criteria for unlock.
t-mo has really locked these down .
So has anyone been able to successfully unlock this phone without the tmo app? or have a cheaper service to unlock this thing ? Else im stuck with a paperweight.
