hi All, sorry for posting here, but I'm under my initial 10 posts quota.
I'm trying to grab the screen of a galaxy s2 while a camera preview is active. I've tried with several apps (not just 'camera'), and several techniques to grab the screen, but they all display black where the camera image should be.
I've tried the home+power capture, I've tried ddms, I've tried directly pulling the data from /dev/graphics/fb0 on a rooted s2 but no luck. all approaches work fine on galaxy S1 & nexus one.
It seems the s2 is not using this framebuffer to write capture data to the screen, does anyone have any ideas how they are writing this data to screen, and how it might be captured?
thanks
actually this is the case for any video that plays, not just the camera preview.
does anyone know how this data is being rendered to the screen?
Hello guys
alright,as the tittle says,im currently on Resurrection Remix 3.0.5 JB
my problem is the web browser and im having several issues with it
1- Web page reset back to google/default whenever im out from browser,
for eg ; let say you're currently browsing xda, then there's a notification or sms coming and you check on it,return back to the browser and the page will reset back to google
2- Multitab and using bookmark wont work
you open one tab let say youtube, then you add another new tab,go to your bookmarks for new website let say xda. the youtube tab will disappear.
its like using any bookmarks will replace any tab you have and it will back to only one tab again. I cant even switch between two webpages since it will override one another
on browser setting ,i already tick
-open in background (open new tabs behind current tab)
-Allow multiple tabs
and none of them works.. am i the only one facing this issue or am i missing some setting :crying:
Maybe you should try to post in the RR thread.

I'm having the same issue on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus. I couldn't find a solution so I installed Chrome.
I've made this thread to mainly know if this could be a simple random software crash issue... What worries me most is if it could be the start of an hardware failure.
I have an S3 I9300 since October and there were 2 times where my back-facing camera seemed to crash into a green screen, both in apps.
1st crash happened in MixBooth last month, the camera preview screen was fully green. Exiting the program and opening the official camera app seemed to fix it.
2nd crash, today, happened in Barcode Scanner. The camera preview screen turned green, with some flickering lighter-green lines. It also completely froze the device and I had to force shutdown by holding the power button.
Has yet to happen in the camera app itself, but I'm worried if it's for certain an hardware issue related to internal connections or otherwise.
Unless these happen with software glitches/crashes as well? I found a person showcasing a similar green-screen issue on the S3 (can't post link so Google for "Android Camera Preview is incorrect on Samsung Galaxy S3"). It's not quite the same green pattern, though it seems a problem encountered while developing an app that uses the camera.
Many thanks for any answer, even if it's just an opinion or conjecture.

No, didn't install ExynosAbuse or anything that gains access to root.
Green Screen in camera
I have had the same issue happen to me a few minutes ago.
I was using the stock camera app and it just suddenly froze onto a green screen.
I have owned my galaxy s3 for less that 24 hours so I am hoping this isn't a recurring problem.
Have you figured out if it was just a software bug?
Not completely sure, but it has yet to happen again... I'd guess if it was hardware its frequency would increase...
Though I did find a thread from 2010 over at the androidforums in regards to a green camera crash on the Samsung Transform that would fix itself with a reboot (see "Support Camera problems?"), so I guess in that case it could be a software crash similar to the ones we just had.
Intresting. I suppose it is just software..
We will be getting a 4.1.2 update pretty soon and that should will iron out any small bugs such as the camera issue we are having.

got to solve it ... for while
Dear all,
I believe that got to fix this issue - had downloaded Ad Detector software from Google Play, and had noticed that there were 29 apps with AdMob plugin on it - had deleted some of the infected software and the camera is now working?
If you have free software installed in your mobile, try to delete it and check it if your mobile camera is working again ...

Hello Professionals,
I already searched for my problem here but sadly found nothing useful....
A few days ago i wanted to change the lock screen wallpaper with the default gallery which is installed on android phones, And every time it wanted to change the wallpaper, screen goes black and says: Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped working.
I also tired to change my home screen wallpaper and same problem... So screen goes black ONLY when i wanted to change wallpaper, hadn't any problem with viewing pictures.
The first thing i did was downloading a program called Image 2 Wallpaper and it worked fine. I tried to solve Gallery problem with Clearing cache and stuff but no lucks, i unmounted the SD card and rebooting the phone but still nothing.
I searched a bit and found Gallery3D.apk and replaced it with the original version in /system/app/ and set the permission with root explorer and rebooted the phone and BAMMM, gallery was completely dead and even i couldn't open it up cuz of Black screen and this ****: Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped working (my problem was with changing the wallpaper but it was dead now)
I also tried to delete both of Gallery3D.odex and Gallery3D.apk and replaced them with other files which i found in internet but none of them worked, still black screen . I'm using Android 4.0.3 with KH3 (because i saw one guy in XDA said android 4.0.3 with KH3 are the best for Galaxy s2 and it will reduce the battery draining)
I tried to use other programs like 3D Gallery Pro and QuickPic but didn't like them
I'm not able to factory reset my phone cuz of stuff and can't use USB for upgrading or downgrading the software version, So if there is any other ways, for love of god let me know.
lol, look what i've found:
I think I've found the culprit behind this error and all other similar errors reported. This is happening when "Force GPU rendering" under "Settings->Developer Options" is checked. Once "Force GPU rendering" check box is unchecked force close issues dissappear.
He is right, Force GPU rendering was checked for me, btw i deleted the gallery3d.apk and gallery3d.odex, Can anyone upload them for me please? (as i said im on android 4.0.3 with KH3)

UPDATE=>
Ok guys, i found the Gallery3D.apk and Gallery3D.odex from a chinese site, and i moved them to system/app via root explorer and set the permission, But it doesn't appear in my application list after reboot... What am i doing wrong ?

(great !!!!!! Its completely missing from Application Manager !)
From last few days i have noticed that apps in my samsung galaxy grand 2 like facebook, twitter, instagram n others having problems in loading pictures.
