Hello everyone, I just got a G2 mini, and for starters I just want to unlock the bootloader, root and install recovery[on stock firmware].
Can anyone help me with some guides/links?
I haven't seen any sticky and the Development area is a little bit amalgamated,
Thanks!

Hi, welcome!
I think you can start by stickying the 'Exploid' topic under Android Mini development, the same root is applicable on the mini pro so it could be linked on that sub-forum aswell.
device OS by manufacturer
If you select the devices by os or manufacturer and you select sony /android you are redirected to the x10 only not to the x10 Mini.
It would be good if this could be repaired

just a quick question...
why isn't there a reference here to the One-click Universal Androot Rooting Method for X10 Mini/Pro?
or i just don't know how to search?
just thinking it's less scary to root the phone that way especially for newbies?
Hi mod!
keep the updates coming!
*and then just like that i saw the thread...
Sorry...
Hello mod. I'm new here too (actually, I've lurked for quite a while). But today I wanted to post (for the first time?) and found out I can't link to images, so I'll be working towards unlocking that feature so I can share how I themed my X10 Mini Pro. Nice to meet you
Hello new moderator
I got a warning because of the line I had after every reply , I stopped doing that since.
The question is : can I reply to the warning message to say that i'm sorry?
Could the warning be at all removed?
Hi there, Nice to meet you

Hello
Its nice to meet you.
Hi All,
Does anyone know how to root the updated 2.2.1 Optimus One without downgrading it? Has anyone tried SuperOneClick on it? And if you have, is there any difference in the method for installing ClockworkRecovery Mod on it? Is there any way to install ClockworkRecovery on it? Final question for now: Let's say that somehow, the phone get rooted etc. How can I use ROM Manager on it?
Thanks
Not Rootable
As of now, no rooting method exists for 2.2.1
Super one click and z4 both do not work on 2.2.1
This has been discussed extensively on the forums.
For ClockworkMod Recovery see this
Kindly use the search functionality and keep the forums uncluttered.
Thank you.
Next time, use search before you post.

Hello!
I am newly registered here, but I have been around for some time, and I love the forums and all the help one can find here. So I decided to register in order to ask for some help as well...
I searched for this, but I am not sure about the results that came up so let me ask it directly:
I have an Xperia X10 Mini Pro and, as it is getting a bit old, decided to experiment with custom ROMS. So far everything is stock and unaltered. And the phone is carrier locked to Vodafone. Will this lock be a problem somewhere along the way? And how exactly can I (if possible) unlock it while having a new, custom ROM in it?
I'd like to try out the "MiniCM7Pro - V21". Can I refer to this thread as a reference? Or, taking into account that I am starting from scratch (unaltered and carrier locked phone), is there a better place to refer to?
Thanks in advance!
Best regards!

Just keep in mind that the thread you linked is for the X10 Mini (not Pro, i.e. without the sliding keyboard). I am not familiar with Mini Pro, so I don't really know how much of a difference there is in the process, but make sure you find information that is relevant and applicable to your specific model...
Hello everyone,
I just received the z2 that I purchased a few weeks ago. It is the D6503 and it should be running 4.2.2. I am coming from the Galaxy line, so I am a little unfamiliar with the nuances of the Sony software. While I do not need to install a custom rom just yet, I am looking at rooting it and running lollipop on it. However, I do not want to lose the stability and ability that comes with having my DRM intact. Can someone provide me with a little guidance on the direction to go with getting rooted and on lollipop?
Thanks everybody for your help.

I am sorry for posting this here. I see now that this was the wrong place. I have reposted this in Q&A, but I am not sure how to delete the one here in general. Would a mod please delete this for me? Thank you.
You can try and report this thread.
Hello again guys right I have another question and I know its more than likely been answered a million times but I am truly a newbie my question: Rooting does it let you put the latest or recent android os on old android tablets? Like for example my archos 80 xs which in another thread which I need help on as Its going nuts atm! Which if you check my other thread you'll see what that's about. Anyway I look forward to your answers and thank you in advance .

Rooting it or not is not essential to that but you should need two main things in order to do this:
- Your device´s bootloader need to be unlockable or is unlocked by default or as in old times happened with some devices doesn´t matter if it is unlocked or not (prior to KitKat)
- And of course that it is a custom ROM available for your specific device.

Just check in the General Forum and in the Development section for your device and if it is any you´ll find it there.
