Those look much nicer than the other straps in this forum for the S. The only thing is the rubber bands seem to stick out a bit on the sides, almost as if they aren't tight enough.
Any plans for a metal band? Where can we buy the leather one?

different clasp and if you check all sellers items they come in different colors
Anyone handy with sewing leather? It looks like all you need is a rubber o-ring from home depot and sew the leather straps onto it. Can probably do it with metal as well if you just bend the end pieces onto the o-ring. $40 isn't too bad, but the $20 shipping kind of tanks it for me. Plus the o-ring looks like it's too large and doesn't stretch enough, making it stick out on the sides instead of lying flush inside the groove.
Any word on any other options? That site won't show how to buy them. I know the gear s is older but it's far better than its newer generations replacements.
Any way to get a leather band for it would be greatly appreciated. Google so far had let me down accept for the cheaply made stock holster meshed with metal and "leather" bands.

I want a case with a special opening for the camera. Some casings have this belt clip which is blocking it, and others just have cheap-looking casings.

Piel's case looks really nice, but the price is too expensive for a casing. Noreve's casing has no camera opening, which is important.
If any of you bought such casing, some photos would be great.

I want a slim and smart case.
I bought the pdair flip, and its very good quality, as all pdair cases are. But I am a wee disappointed by the width (and the way the double stitching surrounds the screen). It just makes the device look fatter then it is.
I want to get the Noreve case, as it looks the nicest, but its a bit expensive. Anyone got a Noreve discount code ?

I'll second that with the Piel Frame cases, I had one for my old Dell PDA, very well made, high quaility, easy to use & fitted well, also had a decent belt clip, but... that price is very high, £55 for a case is too much, shame as they are good.
I am now searching for some leather cases for my phone, I have brought one before, but it damage within 1 month, it upset me, are there any high quality cases intruduce to me? thank you.
You could have a look at some of the Samsonite range of mobile case,s.
Best thing to do , is go to a store and try your phone with a few different case,s see what fits and what you like.

well leather cases with magnets seems to damage the internal compass of the g1. its been reported but never really confirmed if the magnets really do damage... so i avoided using leather cases with magnets.. i jsut used the pouch that came with the g1.

most cases use magnets. its recommended to take out the magnets and attach velcro, but velcro is hideous.
and there are some cases that uses a push pin... but the magnet cases are just sooo slim and nicer looking,but i am not going to take the risk of damaging my phone.

I have been using magnetic cases ever since I can remember. I have a magnetic case for the G1 since I got mine many months ago. I have had no issues.
I got a nice dark brown leather horizontal one from Office Depot. I looked all over and didn't like the more expensive (costing) ones. Sorry it is magnetic but I haven't had a problem with it.
I'm new to the G1 so I could be wrong. Don't flame me please. I don't think the phones actually have a digital compass in them. I played with mine before I got the magnetic case. I never really got a good north unless the gps was enabled and I was on the move. Most stand alone GPSs don't have compass' either. They get their readings from movement and positions.
I purchased a pouch from PDair for my older HTC Dream and absolutely loved the quality.
I'll make the order today and once I receive it I'll give a detailed review with some photos.

unfortunately there really are no accessories yet. i'm waiting on a screen protector myself, for now leaving the one that came on it on. picking up a business card holder at officemax today until the hdmi dock comes out. so i guess get to hacking

some people are getting netbook screen protectors and cutting them to fit, but i've gotta believe there will be ones made for the gtablet soon..

One good thing to know is that these ship with 2 layers of conductive film in place so if you smooth out the air bubbles in the shipping film they work pretty darn good for at least the short term...

I bought this case from Amazon. I chose it because it had carry handles (can you say "man purse"?) The gtablet fits very well width wise, but has an extra inch or two height wise. It also has a pocket for cables and a few extras. Soft interior. I also ran across this same thing at Sams Club as a "one-time buy" for less than $10.

I recognize this. When I bought my G-Tablet at Sears, they gave me one of these for free!
It was packaged in G-Tablet packaging like it is the one G-Tablet will provide, but it still has the "Case Logic" tag one.
It works well and has an auxiliary pocket -- but the tablet fits inside loosely so I'm looking for some padding to make it a little more solid and provide additional protection.
But for $5.99...........what do you expect!!!!????

Coming from an iPad2, the only thing i miss was my smart cover. Allowed protection without adding bulk.
I know it wouldnt work quite the same but I saw something similar for a Galaxy tab. It has a thin (metal/plastic?) backplate to hold the front piece. Perhaps it could be magnetic where the two ends meet to keep it closed.
Anything like this already available?

They should just make something with a hard back and 4 little lips that go over the corners with a hinge on one side for the flap with magnets.

No they are not, all android tablets out there have different sizes. Screen size doesn't matter much when you are looking for a case with a perfect fit.
Yesterday, I threw caution and fiscal sense to the wind and invested £85 in the Samsung leather case (in black) for my Fold. I have tried the aramid case that came in the box but found it shows too many prints and smudges as well as not protecting the camera hum glass when laid back down. I also tried the Spigen thin fit case which is fine but I was concerned that the device was maybe not shutting properly when folded due to the fact that the case edges sit slightly proud of the main screen when open, hence my decision to buy the leather case.
The leather case is very light, very slim, very comfortable to hold and looks great, the back part is just thick enough to keep the camera glass away from the surface you lie it on and all the various cut outs for buttons, cameras and ports are perfectly place and sized.
Is it worth £85? Probably not but then again, having already coughed up an insane amount of cash for the device in the first place, why not go the whole hog and get the case as well.
If your wallet will run to it - recommended.
I got the original leather cover, too and am very happy with it. The free case is not good. It is so thin and hardly provides any protection.

Actually it's not the same sticky tape. It is more of a suction layer to stick to the glass. Which is much better as it doesn't get stuck to dust and lint that's in your pocket compared to the free case.

Got the original case today does look and feels nice but still way over priced even though i paid £79.99 which is currently the cheapest anywhere some places selling for £120 inc samsung
That "adhesive" is cool because it is reusable. If it gets dirty just run it under some water and let it air dry. You can wipe down the leather side but let the sticky side air dry and its like BRAND NEW in just a couple minutes!
OP how are you getting on with your fold and the leather case?
Might be coming back into the fold ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ?with the fold2.
