Came across this http://www.oneclickroot.com/device/samsung-galaxy-s4-verizon-lollipop/ but don't have a S4 to test on. My buddy has one but is hesitant to try it. Don't know if it's legit or not. Anyone brave enough to try?
If someone does try it obviously let us know if it works.
I'm not responsible for any adverse effects, I'm just throwing this out there to see if someone with an S4 wants to try it and let us all know how it worked.
If nobody has tried by the time I get off work (10pm est) I'll try this tonight.
This looks sketchy as hell. The fact that they don't even show a Galaxy S4 on that page has me cautious.

We used to have towelroot. Then he had to stop development for personal reasons.
I just used KingRoot to root in like 2 minutes just after updating to Lollipop. I don't know why this isn't easier to find.
Kingroot does work to obtain root on galaxy s4 that was upgraded to OC1. I was able to obtain root and then used Super-sume to remove kinguser and install SuperSU and keep root

Getting ready to try Kingroot & want to make sure I've got all my ducks in a row . I need this phone!

Rooting can be done using Saferoot and framaroot and others.
But be advised as said previously. . This will not allow you to have a custom recovery like TWRP, Philz or CWM and install custom roms! Unless it has a unlocked bootloader. As of now theres no simple friendly way to do this anymore. Only solution is to have mobiletechvideos downgrade your chip and send it out to them for a service fee. There highly recommended on here for doing this. Hopefully a fix will be released soon as many people are working on this.
Good luck

You got the answers on rooting, I would just add that yes after a period of time of you denying the update it will just do it on its own. In the future root and freeze the update program. In this case SDM 1.0

XDA developer h311sdr0id made a post a while back to help out with rooting the sch-i605 on 4.3. You can find his post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2608827
I'm still on 4.1.2, so I haven't had to use it yet, but this seems to be the method that a lot of other people are using to root their devices on 4.3.
Thanks to k1mu for posting the root method and h311sdr0id for pointing it out for the Note 2.
Good luck!

You can use titanium backup and restore apps. You can also download xposed framework and there are some random mods with that and you can also disable ads with ad blockers. Honestly that's pretty much all I use it for. I'm pretty upset this happened to me. It works. It was confirmed by someone in that thread, but I don't have the link. It shouldn't trip knox either.
Root without tripping Knox? Thought that was impossible as Knox is in the bootloader.. Hmm.. May take a look at this when i get my S5. I don't have any sort of warranty on it as i got it from swappa. But interesting.. Wonder what Sammy is gonna do bout this since they just got a number of devices confirmed for enterprise due to knox.
I can confirm this, I have just rooted my Tmobile S5 and my knox flag says 0x0 I'll post a picture in a second. This method works for us.
Works great! Can't comment about Knox as mines already tripped, but root is super easy as the tethered method as well

Knox would probably be tripped once you install a custom recovery though

No issues at all after using it. However, kingroot will install its own superuser app and I have not been able to replace it with supersu (It should be possible with a custom recovery).
Root works fine without supersu but you could try following these instructions after you root if you want to get rid of king root: http://www.yomitech.com/2015/02/how-to-replace-kinguser-with-supersu.html

I hope there's some development for this tablet.
Have had mine since release and I love it I own a Nexus7 2013 and it is as fast as that one , it so far has handled all the emulator games I have thrown at it like a champ I have loaded N64 games and some NDS games I got and has played them great. Also I love the fact I was able to add a 64GB micro in for extra storage well worth the 199.00$ price tag!
Got rooted with KingRoot and later replaced with SuperSu
See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61168022&postcount=30
Didn't try Xposed yet, but should work under SuperSu
Give exposed a try and let us know if it works. Thanks
I used King root and it worked just fine...until my son used it and did an update. Now it is bricked. Here's hoping that it becomes popular enough to have its own forum and someone creates a decent ROM for it.
For the price it has good (enough) resolution, color and speed.
Have you tried holding power and volume up for about 10 seconds to get into recovery and do wipe/reset?
I did. I can get into recovery, did wipe and restored factory but nothing. It looks like the files created by kingroot were not compatible with the update.

it'll probably be your only method. the Chinese seem to be taking over these root and jailbreak exploits. over on iOS, TaiG is the only group who has a jailbreak for the newest versions of that. and kingroot seems to be getting a similar status for people who want one-click root exploits.
keep in mind, root is a dangerous thing and it seriously harms the security of your device. you may not trust the Chinese, but they've probably been doing this all along.

Apparently you can flash Stang5litre ROM on OTA 5.01 using Flashfire. I haven't tried it myself but if you go to the last couple of pages on the Stang5litre topic you will see post from those who were successful in flashing it on OC1.
After reading a post saying that there is no known root method for 35b, I set out to find one.
I am surprised to find out that rooting actually takes only five minutes, and does not require a computer.
You only need to go to http://kingroot.net/wap/ on your phone, scroll to the bottom, click download, make sure Settings -> Unknown sources is enabled, and install KingRoot apk when it is done downloading.
Open the app, scroll down until you see the 'Try it' button, click it, wait for the app to connect to its server, and press the big round button.
The app roots your phone and provides root access management without reboot. Enjoy!!!
Please contact me if you have any concerns.

Edit 1:
The Kingroot one-click-root application does not exist on the Play Store! Such rooting tools are considered malware/viruses for running exploits and are a violation of the guidelines and not permitted! The tool is safe, however; dont worry about it too much. The Kingroot and similarly named apps on the Play Store are fakes and do not do much of anything, hence the crappy reviews. Stop looking on the Play Store. That is entirely misleading.

Yes you can root 35b with kingroot and use SuperSume pro paid app or this guide to remove kingroot. If you do this you will still have stock recovery though so my advice is to keep reading and decide what you need/want to do.

Likewise, im just as hesitant as you are buddy I tried searching for the kingroot app on playstore, there were quite a few with the name so i decided to just give a look at all of them, and all of them had mostly negative reviews how it would stop at 90% and some of the users complained how their devices got bricked. I can confirm that this method works on 35B. I rooted last night, and it seems to be working okay. Although after trying my first root program, the phone got significantly hot. It also rebooted once. But after that it seemed to work fine, it just gets a little warm when using a root app. I think its because i chickened out and closed kingroot during the root process, causing the root to be just a tad messed up. An hour later i opened up kingroot again to fully root it and it was already rooted.
I am buying a new phone today, considering the G3 from verizon. My question is will it come with the 35B or the 46A update, and if it comes with the 46A update does this method still work? Sorry for my lack of knowledge, have never rooted a phone before but recently became interested. Thanks for any help
