Hello All,
I am new here and would like to say HI to everyone.
OK. Now down to business. I have a broken i545 that a friend gave me. Screen busted beyond belief. My question is i have found replacement parts for about 100 dollars to repair everything. Would it be worth it to fix. I have the phone taken completely apart and I think it will be an easy fix. My other question and most important is that i currently use Straight Talk. I would like to continue to use it. Will this phone accept and work on the att network with LTE? I dont wanna spend money on a paper weight. I just wanna know if the phone is even worth fixing I guess! Please any info would be much appreciated.

Well I started playing around today, rooted my phone and tried something with it, bricked it.. lol. But I fixed it. I don't even wanna attempt to try flashing it myself cuz it was an all day process and a headache already that I endured. I'm just not patient enough for this stuff anymore. So I'm wondering if there is anyone that could do a remote flash on my GS3 from boost to verizon prepaid or Pageplus, as I am moving to an area where sprint has absolutely no coverage. Hopefully you could do this relatively cheap, need all the funds I can get for my move, gonna be homeless etc and just want to have a usable phone. Thank you in advance.
Wrong forum, report your own post and ask a moderator to move it for you.
I did a search and didn't find any threads that have answers (Nor any threads regarding my phone).
I very recently had to drop my contract with Verizon because they have just become way to expensive for the amount of money I bring in a month.
So, my question is: Is it possible to use my Galaxy S4 (SCH-I545) Verizon Contract phone with a prepaid service?
Because I really don't want to give up my S4 because I'm still quite in love with it and I know if I end up getting a really nice prepaid/no contract phone that, nothing would live up to it.
If it's possible could anyone explain what I would need to do?
If it's not possible, does anyone have any suggestions (I understand this isn't the correct forum for this particular question) for prepaid phones/services I should consider? As I've never had a prepaid phone before.
Thanks!

This probably isn't the best place for this, but I don't really know where else to ask about it.
A few months ago I was on a trip and I found a MetroPCS phone that was locked. There was very little I could do about figuring out who the owner was (it wasn't anyone's in the group I was in) or trying to unlock the phone (no way!). When I got home, I called up MetroPCS and explained my predicament, but they were surprisingly unhelpful and basically told me I had to take it to the store, and even then they likely couldn't do anything for me or the owner. After a bit of arguing about how ridiculous that is, the support guy ended up essentially telling me to throw out/recycle the phone. Obviously there's a whole other issue here with their support on this issue, but I won't touch that at the moment.
Well, the nearest store is really far from me (over an hour away) and its out of the way from any normal driving I do, so I ended up just throwing the phone in a drawer for a while. I was cleaning up yesterday and I found it again, so I decided to look into this once more. Today I learned about ESN and IMEI blacklisting, and I looked the phone up to see and of course it is blacklisted because it was reported lost.
Is there anything I can do with this thing? I guess I could sell it for parts on eBay or something like that, but I feel weird selling a phone that a lot of potential buyers would yell "stolen!" at.

Wifi toy for the kids / nieces / nephews / friend ...?
Obviously the phone is a lost cause at this stage, despite your best efforts. Typically there is a way to use a button combo to get into recovery to wipe the phone so the previous user's data and passwords will be removed. How to do so, or if it is possible, depends on the model.

You can sell it, just list it as having a bad ESN/IMEI and "for parts".
If there's a SIM card, you could pop it in a MetroPCS or unlocked GSM phone and it should have the phone number (Settings -> About device -> Status). Call/text the number (from another phone, obviously).
Greetings All,
My fiances mother has this phone, I don't know if its because she has had a fight with Tmobile (she has been with them for a few years but renewed contract like a year ago).
None the less she refuses to pay them, and they wont unlock (sim code) her phone. I have rooted her phone, and was wondering, is there anything ANYTHING i can flash so she can use a different carrier at all. Her main problem with Tmobile is they claimed she would have all this service, even when she reupped they made her a deal and said it was going to be good again, its horrible where she is at. Like real bad, cant really even talk, 4g is not even possible.
Anyways, if there is anything she can do, please let me know. She refuses to pay them, and would like to keep using this phone if possible, if we can't I have an old at&t phone (samsung something smartphone) but we are hoping.
Much thanks
Looks like thats a no. She says she is just going to continue paying hte bill I guess. It is horrible though, I remember when she talked to them they promised all these things would work, even the map says it should work, I have t-mobile as well and mine doesnt work so I know its not her phone.
Word of advice, providers should have to honor what their maps say.
Hi folks,
Here my situation: I have a sprint ls990 that I want to use on AT&T. Of course I purchased it used and was told it was given an unlock code. The knob that I bought it from actually gave me the internation unlock. So, I proceeded down the road to use this forum to first get root. Then I had the genius idea to install RR, the latest, thinking that it would be unlocked for GSM. Nope. After more reading, I see that I may be able to fully unlock it, however it seems that I need to flash back to stock to do it? Is that correct?
I sure did save a ton of money buying this phone, huh? Sure it only cost me a hundred bucks, but damn, have I got 8 hours lost so far in this effort? I think so.
I'm looking for another G3, but I've been burned twice trying to get one (burned in lost time trying to meet people that don't show).
