KitKat Lockscreen - Samsung Galaxy Alpha

Hey
I got my Galaxy Alpha about 4 months ago and I love it. I got used to KitKat and I recently updated it to Lollipop.
I'm loving it so far. But I'll get to the point, the only thing that bothers me is the lock screen. I loved the KitKat lock screen and these are the features I'll miss the most.
Music controls, flight mode button, overall look and feel. To me it felt more "transparent" than the new one. So if there is a way to revert it that would be amazing.
Maybe a lock screen apk or something like that? I know there is a way to change the lockscreen in android so it shouldn't be too difficult to revert the lock screen with fingerprint support.

Choose country and operator, download firmware and flash with odin. Instructions and link to odin also on same page.

Well that's the problem. I don't want to fully downgrade to KitKat. I just want the lock screen downgraded. I'm just wondering if I can take it out of the firmware in someway? Then install it. I still want lollipop, just with the kit kat lock screen.

[Q] having issues with CM9 nightly on p4wifi (home button / lock screen not working)

hi there,
new here and hoping this is the right place to post this.
I'm using the latest CM9 nightly on Galaxy tab 10.1 (p4wifi) with latest pershoot kernel... everything worked quite nicely until recent updates...
some issues I'm having :
-home button won't work anymore
-screen won't lock anymore
(also I was never able to change the wallpaper for the lockscreen, it was only the transparency over homescreen wallpaper, but now the screen doesn't lock at all)
I find this ROM really great and would like to keep using it, quite eager to have a working camera though.
any help would be appreciated...
.............
well, forget it, I fixed it.
I flashed some stock files through odin which messed it all up w/ rollin screen than I flashed a bootloader fix and re installed recovery+kernel+rom+apps... and voila.
I dont even quite understand how I did it and why it worked. dont get either why I had these problems. all my homescreen setup is even intact. miracles do happen.
still cant change the lockscreen wallpaper though.

[Q] lock screen on JellyVanilla 7.0

Hi.. I have been searching for 2 days, but I can't find one so I decided to post a new thread.
I was using Jelly Vanilla 5.0 on my Mango (SK17i Xperia Mini Pro) before upgrading to 7.0
Everything is perfect and running smoothly, but one thing that I'd change is the lock screen.
I prefer the old lock screen (Vanilla) rather than the default lock screen on JV 7.0
How can I get it back?
I've tried Holo Locker, but many features seem limited for "plus" version.
Sorry for my bad English and my 'newbie'-ness.
Thanks.

Sick and Tired of HTC Sense

Dear HTC One users,
I was one of the enthusiast who loved HTC Sense. But on HTC One, I am hating day by day. I can live with other problems but one with their lock screen is killing me. I can't use apps like DashClock widget or ActiveNotifications.
I want to ask you, is there an alternative to by-pass that lock screen ? I would love old-school default android lock screen.
If not, then what ROM are you guys using ? I remember reading it somewhere that CyanogenMod eats up HTC One's battery and it was suggested not to install it. I saw another ROM name as PAC, really liked it but i don't like the concept of tablet UI on phones.
What ROM would you guys preger.

Sounds like you're a perfect candidate to flash a Google Edition ROM on your phone. The newest version based on Android 4.3 just came out a week ago, here is a flashable stock rooted version. The Google Edition ROMs for the One are made by HTC directly and they give the look and functionality of an AOSP ROM. Since the ROM is made by HTC, everything works nicely (including Beats, camera and IR blaster in the newest 3.06.1700.10 build) and battery life is just as good as Sense, maybe even a tad better based on some reviews. There are also custom tweaked version of the Google Edtion ROMs in the International One section.

Question regarding "International One Section". Do i have to some modifications before i install this rom? My phone was original with AT&T, I got it unlocked and now i am using it on Candian Carrier Fido.

Most, if not all, of the ROMs from the International section work on all variants of the One (except for the CDMA/Sprint version) so you are good to go. You might need to put in the APN settings for your particular carrier if they aren't included in the ROM.

I thought 4.2.2 adds the ability to use lock screen widgets like DashClock (you have to select "Widget" in lock screen type and I think you may be limited to just one widget). Not sure about ActiveNotifications.
If that's not enough, sounds like you need a custom ROM.

Yes, 4.2.2 does but thanks to Sense that i doesn't let you allow lock screen widgets!

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. I believe 4.2.2 on the HTC One w/Sense does allow one lockscreen widget if you select the "Widget" lockscreen in settings. Try it. I can test later, but I quite like the "Productivity" lock screen that HTC provides.
I don't see them. I could be wrong

I installed that ROM on my HTC One, and lets just say the battery life was pretty bad. The battery life would drop pretty fast just from browsing the web and viewing social media. Not to say 4.3 is bad at all.

In those settings chose the one all the way to the right. It's called widget lockscreen. Unfortunately only allows for one widget. No swipe left or right like aosp lockscreen.

Or you could install an app like Widget locker and replace the sense based one with the default Android one
The screen they are referring to is in Settings...Personalize...Lock Screen Style....Then chose Widget. Like they said above it allows for ONE widget, and that can be Dashclock if you want
When flashing roms it's generally best to use the Rom for a few days before judging battery life.
I've noticed some roms got better over time and usually your first charge is spent tinkering and configuring your phone.

The only problem with sense lockscreen and dash clock is that you'll have 2 clocks :-\

[Q] [Lollipop] Odd lockscreen behavior?

I recently flashed PA 5.0 on my LG G3 having previously used kitkat. One thing i'm noticing that's leaving a bad taste in my mouth is,
Why does the lockscreen go to the homescreen when I unlock the phone? It's supposed to show me the last app i had open, right?
At least that's what kitkat (and previous versions) did. Is this Google's change or Paranoid Android's change?
Or am I the only one with this issue? EDIT: Yes, yes I am.
More Edit:
Turns out it was just a bug in the unofficial rom i was running. Flashed a non-buggy version, now it's fine!
It was an issue with the Dev's quickunlock implementation. After unlocking the phone, it would go straight to the home screen instead of the last app.

Skinning Stock Android 5.x ROM to look like Android 4.3?

Hello,
I've been holding off upgrading to Android 5 or newer and have been sticking to Android 4.3 because I plainly do not like how the icons and graphics for Android 4.4 and up looks like. Would it be possible to make Android 5.x look exactly like Android 4.3? Perhaps with a skin?
For example, the shape of the Back, Home and Switch Window icons at the bottom of the screen, the position of the Quick Settings in the Notification Panel, the shape and icon design of the Wi-Fi and Cellular signal strength and so on.
I have my Sony Stock Android 4.3 Rooted, which allows me to apply security fixes (ie. disabling Stagefright in build.prop) and installing permissions managers but I think as Android 4.3 ages more and more exploits would be possible against it. So I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade to Android 5x and then skin it to look and feel like 4.3.
Thank you!

That's a very weird thing to do, but alright.
First of all, any reason why you're not on 4.4.4? That's the last KitKat version. Heck, 4.3 isn't even KitKat! It's Jelly Bean, so you're two versions behind. KitKat looks the same as Jelly Bean and runs much better than Jelly Bean.
Second, you can change the navigation buttons (the three buttons at the bottom) by either using an Xposed module or by installing an app (just google "change android navbar icons".
Third, you can also flash CM12.1 and use a theme. You won't find a theme that looks like the old Sony UI, because why would anyone make that, but you can theme it to look like anything else than stock Lollipop.
Fourth, you can stay on 4.4.4 and have a rather big issue at hand once you have to buy a new device It's not like Google will revert the design, so the best thing to do is to start liking it, or move to a different OS.
Cheers

Thanks for the reply. I've been trying some builds here and there, such as Cyanogenmod and Blisspop, I just have to use 5.x for a few days I guess.
What ROMs would you recommend that doesn't have broken features? Right now I'm using Sony Stock 5.1.1 and rooted it using the Kingroot app and replaced that with SuperSU.

The most stable ones are of course the official ones, so the one you're already running and the GPe port are the most stable ones. Also, I guess you can simply use a theme on the ROM you're running right now. Take a look here if you haven't already.
Bro just use lp with nova launcher
