hello! sorry, i'm completely new with this kind of stuff so please bare with me ;_;
i've recently dropped my xperia z2 phone into water and it won't turn on. charging the phone only shows a red LED and disappears once disconnected. the battery shouldn't be flat since it was 80-90% when dropped. i've tried holding the power button + volume up, which made the phone vibrate (three times i think?), but no longer does anything when power+volume up is pressed. when plugged into a computer, it says the usb device has been installed correctly, but it still does not read.
i feel there's not much that can be done, but i've put the phone in some rice for several hours now praying. is there still hope for me? ;__;

Hello guys.
My Razr Maxx (german) is trying to die on me, it seems...
i.imgur.com/DUBXzsT.jpg
Shows this for like 10 seconds and then screen goes off. If I press the either volume button, the [?] instantly appears (it's on).
No idea what this[?] means. Googled quite a bit, did not find anything.
Now... the device's been dropped from the 3rd floor Nothing cracked, the only noticeable problem was that sometimes my signal would get low while in a call. The device is rooted. I was running Liquid Smooth; latest SafeStrap. Haven't had any issues of that kind before. My battery life was good.
One morning, I just woke up to this...
Nothing happens when I press the power button. This battery icon appears when I press the volume buttons.
I've left the device alone for a while as I was quite busy. The battery was flat as the screen did not turn on when I pressed the buttons. I connected it to the charger, the red Moto logo appeared and then the battery icon after a few moments...
I've tried charging it overnight. My charging cables are fine too.. I am able to reboot the phone holding all three buttons, red Motorola logo and then the battery [?] symbol again...
When I unplug it from the charger the [?] doesn't come up, battery is flat already, when I plug it back in starts up, logo, etc.
Tried holding the volume buttons during the red logo, still goes to [?]
Diagnosis?

To return to normal mode - first press power key to power down

Ok, I also got to the

Sooo.... Currently, I've got the phone cracked open in my kitchen using knifes and heat to melt the annoying plastic panel covering the battery connection where I needed to connect the wires of the charger
Big problem though! Cannot find the fastroot files anywhere!!
Do any of you guys maybe have them saved locally? All links point to droid-developers.org which is dead.

I have a M7 that's been running CM 11 for a couple weeks now. Went to bed last night with the phone charging, playing podcasts. When I woke up, the phone is non responsive, won't turn on, only sign of life is a green LED flashing constantly about once a second. The red charging LED won't come on when the phone is plugged into the wall. When plugged into a PC, the PC doesn't recognize that there's anything plugged in.
I've tried power+vol down, and same button combo with a bright light next to the proximity sensor, to no effect. Any help is appreciated.

you ever figure this out ?
you can hold power plus volume up for 20 seconds thats a hard reboot
then try power plus volume down to enter the bootloader
It must have gotten into some kind of hard lock. I let it sit until the battery ran out, charged it up for a few hours, and turned it back on like nothing had happened.
hello!!! i am having a problem with my z ultra. i left it last night to charge (turned off) and today morning wouldn't turn on. i have never rooted it, custom rom/recovery etc, just stock. when i plug it in the wall charger the led is green as it is fully charged and when i plug it in the pc it recognizes it (i hear the sound) but no matter the key combination or the small red button that resets it i can't get it to power on. the only things i have tried are all the buttons combination and i needed some help from more experianced members before i proceed to other action. it is off warranty by the way.
thank you very much in advance!!
Are you seeing the LED blink when you turn it on?
Sounds like a dead screen to me....
Hello,
My phone's battery was starting to have issues so I bought a new one and replaced it yesterday. I've done it recently on another phone (same model) so knew what I was doing when reassembling it, with the right adhesives and everything. Then I left it plugged for the night as this was advised by the new battery's seller. But this is what happens this morning when I try to turn it on:
- Phone doesn't vibrate when pressing the power button, neither when holding different combinations of Power + volume, etc.
- When I plug it this is what happens: imgur[dot]com/fByubwN The screen turns on as it would normally do, displays the 100% charged battery logo and then just dies (with the green led remaining). The only way to turn the screen on is to unplug and plug it again. But the phone itself isn't booting.
Any thoughts appreciated!

I'd say that the battery is at fault. It can be two things:
- it is not correctly plugged (maybe the connector is not perfectly aligned, or one of the pins is bended)
- it is completely depleted, so won't charge at all.
Disconnect phone from charger and try to test voltage on the motherboard with a voltmeter. If you can't read anything, disconnect the battery and test it directly.
Personally I would say the first problem is more likely - a completely bricked battery is not that common.
Actually the battery was fine. I've opened it again and turns out I've kind of messed up with the flex connectors of the motherboard.
So I was able to boot it while it's open but as soon as I reassemble it, the controls are not detected anymore. It's a matter of millimeters, some parts probably don't sit properly, etc.
We spent some time on it with a guy at a local repair shop, the conclusion was that I had to get a new phone, or a new motherboard which is almost the same haha.
Thank you for taking the time to reply!
Hi guys, so I recently came across my old phone and just remembered all the things I had on it. However when I try to switch the phone on, nothing happens. I've left it on charge for a few hours and still nothing. I tried to turn it on again (even during the charging process) and still nothing. I then gave it the old soft/hard reset by holding down the power+volume down button for 15 secs, nothing. Then held down all the buttons....nothing, no vibration, no form of life whatsoever.
When I plug it into the PC, the sound of a device being connected plays, then the disconnect sound follows about 3 seconds after. I tried the soft reset method when I plugged it into the PC and after about 10 secs, the same sounds played as if my computer had detected a device but then disconnected it. This must mean there's some sort of life in the phone right? Any chance anyone knows a solution to this?
Charged it for about 4 days, still no sign of it turning on!
After charging, press and hold Vol-down and On/off buttons together for a longer time. It should vibrate and switch on.
Best regards,
Joachim
