Hello,
Forgive me if I am in the wrong thread for this. I am trying to encrypt my Sprint LG G3 and it will not encrypt. The phone is not rooted. What happens is I password protect my phone. I then go to Security > Encrypt. I then follow the prompts and then get to the point where I press Encrypt. The phone reboots but upon start up it never gets past the LG splash screen. It just stays there until I pull the battery and then starts up like normal. No encryption. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

So I just wanted a simple root to get root access on my NOTE3 to stop some apps from auto starting.
I was at KK and went with one of popular youtube channel vids as I have done many times before. The only difference this time, is that I have my work email tied in and I am required to encrypt the phone. I assume that this is the problem here.
My phone asks me for my encryption password, and then the green android guy comes on the screen for a second, then disappears, then fade to black.
Nothing else happens, the phone then powers off.
I tried to revert back.
I quickly found out that I cant go back to MJ4 (at least not easily, I tried already, this fails with error basically stating that I cant go back).
I am able to apply (N900PVPUCNC5_N900PSPTCNC5_N900PVPUCNC5_HOME.tar.md5 - KK), but this is giving me the same results as the root (phone boots, asks for ecryption p/w, takes p/w, then powers off).
Is there anything I can do to get my phone back to a working state?
Any and all help is and will be greatly appreciated.

I am unfamiliar with encrypting phones, but I believe you should try to use the full-restore from rwilco12.
I hope this works for you.
I've been running Blisspop 5.1.1 on SGS3 with TWRP as my recoverey. Lately, I've been having many issues with my battery. Yesterday evening, I suddenly got the message of encryption unsuccesful on my phone. I tried every possible thing to do get rid of that message, but the phone wouldn't budge. My only option was to hit the phone resest button and see what happens, I understand running a custom rom with root excess can inexplicably damage my phone in such situations after reading a lot of posts.
The phone now displays the S3 logo and keeps flashing at the teamwin recovery splash and blinks right there.
I need urgent help to retrieve it back and any leads on this will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
you need a usb/otg cable..

Don t reset your phone go back to twrp and do a factory reset..after that do a format data type in yes..dont reboot ...put a custom rom to your usb/otg drive thats specific for your phone.. Then flash it this is just to get you going...

I did have to reset. There was no other option. It is now stuck on the page of team recovery and constantly flashes. Is there a way out for this?
So I decided to take the plunge and do a Full disk encryption on my stock rooted marshmallow lg g3, I entered by password to start encryption and it rebooted to the big red verizon logo. It's been over an hour and its still has the big red verizon logo, Is it still encrypting, should I give it longer or pull the battery as I'm afraid of doing this might cause a brick?

Well I pulled the battery after 2 hours, and it boots right back up read on another post something about during boot to encrypt someone in a logcat got a unable to mount error, that is all I can find. Another post said to encrypt right after a fresh rom install before installing anything, but if anyone else can figure out why full disk encryption is hanging on boot, please share your thoughts
Search @xdabbeb 's stock 46A thread for "encryption" - I don't recall what other experiences have been reported. I don't use encryption myself. If no one's had any luck using it, perhaps it's because of the 46A partitions that we can't use: mainly sbl1 and modem, although there's others like the aboot (bootloader) and laf (Download mode) as well.
So today I wanted to root my phone again. The first thing I did was go into the stock recovery and do a factory reset. Then the phone boots up and the setup starts. Now the problem is that, for some reason the keyboard is not showing up on the screen, this means I can't enter in my google account to finish the setup. I have tried resetting the phone again but that didn't help.
So to sum up, i just need to finish the setup to get into the phone but the keyboard is not working.
My phone is a Blu Life One X running Android 5.1
Thanks for your help!
Hello everyone, I have been a fan of your forums for quite a while, you guys have an awesome community. I have been attempting to unbrick my VS990 with no success, I have LGUP and all of the proper dll files in the proper folders, I have two .kdz. One is the stock kdz, I can not get to work at all due to anti roll back (no matter which option I choose) and the other is the current kdz. I got that one to accept using update, but it did not fix my phone, it is still stuck in boot loop. and using refurbish I get an error message saying that it is not supported by that kdz. LG UP is fully recognizing my phone, I found the .kdz files no problem, I believe that I have followed all of the steps here >> https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/general/guide-lg-v10-stock-firmware-to-stock-t3224170 any help at all would be appreciated. Side note, I have not rooted or installed a custom recovery.
I would also like to add, I can not do a hard reset. Every time I attempt the phone either locks up when I hit the power key on yes to confirm factory reset, or sometimes it reboots to LG splash screen and locks up then. I am starting to wonder if there isnt a hardware problem with the phone instead of software.
