[Q] BTC Flame ROMS?? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
has anybody come across the BTC Flame? I got one of the spare ones from work this week and want to have a play around with some roms.
firstly, the device is already rooted i assume as it has a super user app loaded already,
second, which rom if any, could i load on to it? im a struggling to find a rom suitable? any help on this matter would be great.
I have flashed roms before, but not since the galaxy s2, so its been a while. i am not looking for anything spectacular just a minimalist rom that has stock roms removed, a upgrade to lollipop would be nice if its possible.
tablet info:
Model Number : BTC
Android Version : 4.4.2
Kernel Version :3.4.0+
build number: full_gs702c_userdebug 4.4.2 KOT49H eng.root.20150105. 112232 release-keys
any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
TIA

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. There is absolutely nothing on that device on XDA. I'll move your post to here and maybe you'll get lucky, http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help But i wouldn't hold me breath.

[Q] G Tablet Stock Rom

Hey there everybody. I got my Viewsonic G Tablet a few days ago and have been enjoying it immensely. I have been looking at the roms (Already tried the TnT Lite 4.4 rom, reverted back to the backup I made) and I always see this "Warning, do not do such and such if your stock rom is ####."
Well, my question is really simple, and probably has been answered 500 times (Believe me, I looked, couldn't find anything) but I still have to ask. How do you tell what your stock rom is? (Like, the rom that is installed on the tablet when you buy it.)
Hope that makes sense. Thanks everyone!
You will find it under settings, about this tablet...or something similar. Look for the UI version.

Hmm. Model Number: UPC300-2.2, Android OS: 2.2, Tap UI: 1.1-3588, Kernel Version: 3.6.32.9-00000-10.8.2, and Build Number: FRF91, none of those look like what everybody was talking about... I mean, I could of just overlooked it (Very possible) or not sure what I am looking for, but I don't see it...
However, I appreciate the help!
Edit: Wait, is the Tap UI's 3588 the rom number that I am using? Hmm...
Yes...your on 3588

[Q] Rooted Samsung Prevail Rom

**First off let me apologize if this a double post, or if im posting in the wrong area, I tried looking around and xda does not have the "Samsung Prevail" in the listed devices for forum support. If there is an appropiate place for this post please move it there, thanks and sorry for the inconvience mods/admins.**
I'm hoping maybe someone can help me. I recently rooted my prevail and now looking to flash custom rom. I have rom manager all set up, got a custom boot ready, and backed up system to SD only problem is i dont know what custom rom will work with the prevail. I'm hoping there some way shape or form I can get cm7 running though since the prevail is still new it has not gotten offical cyanogen support. My prevail is running a froyo build so I was thinking maybe I can get a stable cm7 froyo build on here with the custom boot going. If I can't get cm7 I'll be happy with shabbymod on it. Any thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? or links will be greatly apprecaited. thanks. heres my phone specs if they will help:
Model Number: SPH-M820-BST
Android Ver. 2.2.2
Baseband Ver. S:M820.07 x.EE14
Kernel Ver. 2.6.32.9
Build Number: FROYO.EE14
Hardware Ver. M820.07
No answer for this yet? And why doesn't the forums have a section for this phone?

[Q] Absolute Android n00b Question

Hey guys - 2nd post here so please don't flame me!
I've had a read at the wiki's and stuff and some of it kinda seems daunting.
I've just rooted my phone as I was keen on getting the Orange signal boost app working on an unbranded Galaxy S2. Everything went surprisingly well ...not a bricked phone in sight and the app is working!
I have been planning on rooting for a while but now that I have done so, what can I actually do with my rooted handset that I wasnt able to do before, except getting access to the root of my handset?
I apologise in advance as i knw it's a total n00b question - it's my first android handset so i'm keen to get stuck in!

Umm you get tons of features including: flashing custom roms using app called rom manager, which can make your phones preformance better. You also get free wireless hotspot. You can put any carriers sim card in and will still work. You have total access to your device. And you can get apps supported for rooted devices. Hope you find something usefull out of this. Any questions ask me. Thanks

- CWM (Best way to flash ROM's, and make backups)
- Adfree hosts file
- Overclock
- Flash Custom ROM's suck as MIUI or CM7/9
- Sim unlock
- Remove bloatware (from Samsung / Carrier)
- change system files
thanks for the replies. Am i right in thinking that custom themes and custom rom's are the same thing? :S
Custom themes and customs roms aren't the same thing. Themes are high-level changes that don't really do much to the system itself (changing how it looks pretty much) whereas roms usually have many low-level changes and features.
Custom ROMS, themes, apps, overclocking, so on and so forth.
In other words, you get to have an actual bad ass phone without junk and crap that slows the phone down and reduces it's actual performance.

Basically, themes change the UI (and how everything looks), while roms change the entire system.

It seems like you have the European Galaxy SII (also unbranded), so I would recommend these roms: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1162715 or this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312240. You could also use this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263838.

Hello all,
So I received my new to me S4, and prior to activating it I wanted to Fist get rid of Knox and put on a custom ROM.However, after much reading I am just more confused. I hoping that someone will just give me the Dummies guide to rooting, nixn' Knox and installing a custom ROM (hyperdrive, or CM).

Android Version 4.4.2
Baseband I545VRUFNC5
Kernal 3.4.0 [email protected]#1
Build# K0T49H.I545VRUFNC%
SE for Android Status: Enforcing; SEPF_SCH_I545_4.4.2_0011
Secure boot Status Type: Samsung
Security software version: MDF v1.0 Release 2
Hope this is not too much info, but I read all kind of post that seem to condradict one another, just when I think I've found the info I read something else that makes me feel this could lead to disaster. Please help. The last android I had was a Droid Eris, and things seem to have changed quite a bit.

Read my whole post linked below. It is accurate. Do not upgrade to NG6, it is a pain and has root but no custom rom capability (yet). On NC5 however, you can flash a ROM using Safestrap (Do not use the safestrap linked in the thread below (3.72), use the safestrap in the general forum (3.75)). DO NOT FLASH TWRP OR CWM. We have a locked bootloader and flashing those is impossible as of yet.
With safestrap, you cannot flash CM, AOSP, or anything that contains a custom kernel. You can flash Hyperdrive, eclipse, and in rare cases Google Edition (The Safestrap version only!!! Not the normal Google edition!)

Thanks npjohnson! very helpful, slow day here in Cisco VOIP land so, I was messing around and got Towelroot, and Root checker. After those two, I installed SuperSU, Thanks Tomsgt! It has all worked so far and SuperSU as apparently disabled Knox…. So Im on my way here. Your post should now take me all the way home. Thanks again! :highfive:

Guess my phone is impossible to root.
Thanks AT&T for collective brainstorming.

I've been vehemently trying. I know that AT&T has screwed us over once again. I don't think there is a way by adb because of the ro.adbsecure, so I'm building a flash rom for Odin. Once finished, I'll post it here since it's the most recent post about it.

Sorry to ask but have you had any luck in building the rom? It's been more than a month, so now I'm starting to worry if we'll ever crack the case.
update?
any update on this. I am stuck with the galaxy logo screen because I installed the old root using odin. Didnt realize it was going to be a big deal. I would love to get the full firmware for the 6.0.1 so I can get my phone working again using odin.
