Looking for a way to add unlock effects - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Stock rooted lollipop. Looking for a way to add unlock effects. I found a thread for adding them to 4.4 but I'm assuming it's not compatible since you have to replace the SecSettings apk. I have seen threads for foreign variants, and even tried one on my SM-N900P, with mixed results (some of them worked, but I experienced some intermittent force closes and reboots). I have searched and noy seen anything except the one for 4.4. Is there anything out there that will give me more unlock effects?

[Q] LG Optimus LTE root (Japanese version)

Hello guys,
I have been reading this forum for quite a while and found a lot of useful information here.
So, first of all thank you to all the guys who put some hard work in developing those programs to make our lives and our smartphones better!
So here goes nothing. Just got this LG Optimus LTE phone some days ago.
And it is packed full with apps I don't need and that Docomo prevents us to remove them. Thanks to this the batteries goes bye bye even faster than expected.
So I would love to get root access to get full control.
like: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1376233&page=6
I read some threads, followed some methods -like 4 or 5 different ones- but nothing worked so far... Anyone who had success in that matter?
Really want to get an Optimus LTE (L-01D) but need to know I can root it first.
type this URL in your browser: i can't post links yet. logsoku.com/thread/anago.2ch.net/smartphone/1324176244/
these guys seemed to have tried everything. Scroll to #45, doesn't look like the Japanese version can be rooted.
they tried a bunch of things as well but to no avail.
I'm just curious, but the reason why I want to root it is so that I can get the nook app on it so I can read. I was able to use VPN to download apps on my HTC Desire HD, but when i got the Arrows Tab LTE, i wasn't able to use VPN to get the Nook app. is it possible with the Optimus?

I don't use this app, so that would be a tough question to answer.
Thing is, since docomo pretty much installed and configured the phone as they liked -with a crappy Home, slow as hell, that can be changed though- I am wondering if they would charge you extra for tethering.
They might have installed something to check on that. But this is just a random guess.
After a lot of research, I found this thread:
h t t p : / / houchi.net/products/l01-root
I tried and I successfully managed to root my phone following the instructions.
Heads up, it's all in Japanese BUT, if you just download the archive file and read the content of the files at the root of the folder with a text editor, you can just copy/paste the different instructions to make it work.
If it's too much trouble for some people, contact me and I will try to put the instructions somewhere else in english and with the Mac version of command line (really the same as for Linux).
Did not have time to have fun with it yet, but I removed some of the crap that the carrier bundled with the phone.
I will still have to look why it takes forever to start comparing to a Galaxy S for example (4 minutes is way too long...).
i tried and not successfully, only install Supper Use. You can explain for my by English, more more details
superuser wont work without root, try gingerbreak?

[Q] Rooted - how far do I need to go now?

Hi all,
This isn't a "stir the pot" kind of question and I don't intend to start a "why root?" discussion... I've read as many other threads as possible and I'm just not clear on a few things. In a current "why do you want to root?" thread, many responded that they rooted so they could remove bloat ware, use wifi tethering, etc. Those are all the things I want, but I'm not sure how far I need to go to get those. Will I need to flash a custom ROM or can I do what I want now?
So, here's what I've got and what I hope to get:
I bought I DNA from a guy who wanted to "upgrade" to an iPhone 5. It did not have the 2.0 software update, so I was able to unlock it, S-OFF, and root it. I can use the SDK and adb, but primarily to follow instructions. Beyond that, I don't really know what I can do now. I had Cyanogen on my trusty old Nexus 1 and on my Xoom tablet, so I'm not afraid of custom ROMs. But, I have to say that I'm pretty pleased with the stock DNA ROM. Except for a few things...
1) What I would like is to get rid of the silly games which I won't use. I don't know enough to know if I can, with the stock ROM but root access, remove those. There's no uninstall option, but perhaps there's a way to remove those with root access? Or would I need to flash a custom ROM?
2) Remove the "entitlement check" on the wifi hotspot app. Since I'm running on T-Mo the app won't, of course, allow activation of the hotspot. Silly... I've read several threads on using SQLite to do this, but they're from last year and either the process has changed or it no longer works. I have read that I can use another app, which is an option. But if there's a way to run the stock app, I'd go for that.
So, you can see I don't really want to change much. If I can do these now, with what access I've got, please let me know (and how, please!). If I need a custom ROM, I see three options it seems. CM (which I've always liked, but seems not yet ready for DNA??), Viper and Hatka seem to be the options which are popular. I'm open to guidance here. Not a "this is the best ROM argument", but which would you recommend for my minimalist needs?
EDIT - I mentioned "three options" above, but that was just based on my reading in the past two weeks. I see there's a new M7 rom and that thread already has over 100 pages in about a week, so it looks like a popular option as well. Apologies if I missed somebody's work and I'm open to any pointers and experiences.
Thanks in advance,
Ross - in the beautiful mountains in Northern Arizona.
I guess if you know the name of the apk of the games, you can use root explorer to remove them from /system/apps but keep in mind we do not know what else it may break and then you may have to ruu back.
if you want to try a rom, try the sense 5 port by newtoroot
To remove some of the user / system apps like twitter or picas, i search 'root uninstaller' in the apps store, and the one with a green trash can has been quite reliable for me ^^
I personally like the minimalistic touch to the M7 / Sense 5 Rom. Easy to get my news, use gps, play music WITH beats on bluetooth/speaker, etc. But stock is really good to, no complaints there.
Thanks and an update - I ended up flashing the M7 and, like you said, it's nice. And an unexpected bonus is that the included wifi hotspot app works just fine with my T-Mo service, without any modifications at all.
I've got everything I wanted and it was easy, once I made the choice.

[Q] How to alter touch sound

I've looked through many different forums on this site but I've yet to find a thread asking about how to change the touch sound on the s4.
It should be noted that I just rooted my first phone, so I'm pretty new to the developer stuff. I downloaded root browser, and found the sound file but I'm just not sure how to change it to sound different.
Does anyone know how to do this?

Has anyone tried calling 911 with custom ROM

This may be a silly question to ask but an important one. Awhile ago I called 911 and noticed it had a special display picture. This was on my stock android and I was curious what cyanogenmod would look like so I google searched it. By chance I found some articles claiming 911 does not work on some phones running CM. Can anyone confirm they have successfully called 911 using custom ROMs like CM?
Example complaint.

[Q] how to customize g920/g925 rom

So I want to try customizing a rom for my g925, but all the information I can find is outdated and abandoned or specific to a certain device or incomplete. I'm sure it's out there somewhere, but I just don't know what to look for.
I think the best way is using a kitchen based on what I've read so far, so is there one that works for s6 and s6 edge and works on windows? I've never dealt with linux, so I'd rather not have to start there. Cygwin is what I'd need right?
Somewhat related, (my g925f 32gb is gonna be replaced by a g925t 128gb once I figure all this out) there's a bunch of videos on youtube (with links to download the file) to convert a g925t to g925f. These work fine, but still come with bloatware, so I'd like to make it myself. I found only one thread that doesn't work anymore because the basebands don't match or something.
Do I need a ton of space and time to build from source, or can I just modify the tar.md5 contents?
If anyone could help or point me in the right direction, I'd be really grateful!
Mmm. Somehow in all of my searches, I never found chef central. Now I've gotten somewhere. Should be able to narrow down my broad questions now.
Been using ASSAYYED Kitchen with great results. Got the stock MM rom totally debloated and updated some apps to the version I prefer!
Now I need to figure out how to disable the volume warning. I found this thread but it seems to be outdated for MM on the s6 edge. Still might be there hiding in the 1100+ pages of comments.
Also need to figure out how to make bootanimation.qmg's and such now that samsung's theme maker has been turned into a license application. I still have a few alternatives to look into like katkit or themeDIY. Bet I could probably find the old theme designer program floating around archive.org or elsewhere too.
Also need to bundle themes with the rom.
So I figured out how to disable the safe volume warning on 6.0.1 finally. Found this post, so I added
Code:
audio.safemedia.bypass=true
on its own line in build.prop at the end of the ADDITIONAL_BUILD_PROPERTIES section. Nice thing is it still leaves the little red zone in case I ever use the stock earbuds again, heh.
Now off to adding a new kernel and themes and bootanimations.
