I hard bricked by galaxy s4 on the nc5 and I'm wondering if anyone else is on the nc5 and willing to make a de-brick image for me.
It's not NC5, but I have a NK1! Can still be rooted! I can make you a NC5 if you like!
NK1 Service File:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B4RU_ZH5QUASdHE1b2Q2NXpVX0U/edit?usp=docslist_api
NK1 won't let me bypass the activation screen like on NC5. I tried installing a custom recovery and it killed my IMEI and Baseband. Im stuck using WiFi only and can't get past activation screen without bypassing.
I highly doubt you hard bricked your phone if you're asking for stock rom to fix it. Hard bricked it when you can't power it on or put it in download mode. It won't even light up when plugged into a charger. That happened to me with a Sprint S3 and I had to make a special SD that forced it to boot up into Download mode. I don't even think there was a battery attached. It was a while ago but pretty wild once I got it working.

Alright, I have a verizon galaxy s4 that I got recently, and I rooted my device and got safestrap. I tried to clear my data to make enough space for a custom rom slot and I coudent make the space to make a custom rom slot. By the way I was trying to make a rom slot for hyperdrive..
On reboot it was on the samsung screen for atleast 20/30 minutes before I took out the battery and put it back in, and now I have it on next to me. It is still on the samsung screen. Any ideas? I have a sch I545. Thanks in advance. I do have insurance and I think I might have to get my phone replaced due to this, which would suck but if that is what this comes down to I have to.

There should be no need to get your phone replaced; users doing that is a large part of the reason why bootloaders are locked.
Follow directions here to enter ODIN/Download mode: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2290771
Download ODIN and the either the Full-Wipe or No-Wipe image here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2578209
(If the no-wipe doesn't work, you'll need the full-wipe, so it may be easier to simply start with that one.)
Follow the directions in the thread to flash the .tar.md5 and your phone should be fully restored to normal working condition.
You are like literally my new favorite person. I love you.
I cannot flash anything because my phone will not be recognized by my computer when I plug it in via USB. I know this because I tried to unroot and see if that worked but it could not recognize my phone.

Are you able to get the S4 booted into Download mode?
(Assuming yes)
Do you have the Samsung USB Driver installed? http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.c...ng_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.5.14.0.exe
Have you tried using the USB cable it came with, or a different cable/port?
Hi everyone,
When I turn on my galaxy s4 i9545, it just shows the boot logo and then shuts down immediately after that. I have safestrap and busybox and a full root, but safestrap for some reason did not show up, and the whole device shuts off. My odex is void and recovery mode states that the software might be modified, so recovery is not an option. When I get into download mode, it has write protect on, so I can't really flash with Odin any hardware. Should I bull crap my way through the verizon store and get a new one, or should I do something else that may work to fix it?
I think the main cause of the brick was that I accidentally flashed the cynanogen mod on it when cynanogen doesn't work. Anyways I run hyperdrive anyway.
Also, I might have odin working, but odex is void, so I dunno if that does anything to odin.
UPDATE-I fixed it by hard wiping with Odin.
Hey guys,
I flashed Cyanide L on Friday morning with a clean install etc.. and my phone seems to have bricked itself while on the charger from Friday night into Saturday morning. I used it most of the day Friday and it seemed fine other than 1 random reboot. My phone will not boot past the Galaxy Note II screen when the phone first turns on, I can boot into recovery (Philz) but I don't see anything on the screen when I do (I get haptic feedback when I touch anywhere on the screen but I can't do anything.)
I tried for about 5 hours to use Odin in download mode and return to either 4.1.1 stock or 4.1.2 (I know using Odin to restore 4.3 will lock my bootloader which I am not interested in doing). However, Odin keeps failing when trying to write the recovery image to the phone. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for what I could do next?

Here's an older post with links that might be helpful ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=57944591 ).
Make sure you're using the pit file when flashing the appropriate firmware in Odin.
Some common issues with Odin also are to make sure you're using a USB 2.0 port on your computer and use the phone's original USB cable or a good quality one if you don't have the original any longer. Also run Odin with Administrative privileges, make sure that Kies is not running in the background because it interferes with ODIN, and disable antivirus programs when running Odin.
Yeah something went wrong in Odin when I flashed the stock recovery the last time and I corrupted my EMMC as Product Name: (Blank) is showing up now.
RIP Note II it was nice knowing you.

Man... that sucks! I wonder if it was actually Odin, or if the EMMC chip just died. Either way, it doesn't really matter now. RIP Note 2.
I had a verizon s4 I545 NC5 version 4.4.2 running hyperdrive 20 with safestrap.
I thought I followed the muniz_ri's instructions to upgrade to OC1 with 5.0.1;
I must have made a mistake. Upon rebooting I got an organge screen with the verizon logo. If I replace the battery I get the animated battery charging icon. If I hold the power button or press volume+ + power + home the Samsung galaxy S4 logo displays temporarily, then back to a blank screen. Can someone point me in the right direction to find instructions to get my phone working again. Thanks in advance for any help.
I got my phone unbricked by flashing VRUFNC5 Full-Wipe with odin. I am now back to NC5 4.4.2, but I have lost root. Now I guess I will start over. Not sure what went wrong. The towelroot mod I originally used to get root no longer seems to work. Hmm. . .When I click "make it rain" I get an error message that towelroot mod has stopped working. How can I get back to root? Please help.
Hi there,
I've been a long term follower of XDA forums for awhile now, and while I never post anything I always come here for information regarding rooting, and flashing custom roms. I've never had a serious issue until now.
I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 SCH-1545, and I hard bricked the device trying to flash with FF. It does not boot or display anything on the screen. I've tried putting it in download mode, but I've gotten nothing out of it. I read that you can recover if someone on the same build can provide you a boot.img that's of the same build here ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600869 ).
Can anyone provide me a debrick img for OF1?
Thank you in advance!
Same problem here. I just want to flash Super6 using Flashfire, but after reboot, my phone just can't turn on. I tried charging but it doesn't showed anything. I think I just hard bricked it, but I don't know the problem.
SDCard boot is not supported on of1 and therefore if you truly hard bricked and are unable to get into download mode you will have to have it repaired via jtag
