Hi,
I'm very new to android phones. I'm wondering who makes the root files for the phones? are they made by different individuals, or is there a team?
Don't want to sound too naive, but it would be great if someone can make a request for them to create a G850A root. All the other Alphas seem to have gotten a root except the G850A. :crying:

Hi guys,
This would have been answered, but is there ANYWAY to get root on my ICS device?
As most of you know it was bricked, so when the UK ICS update came out I just wanted to the device back so I flashed the relevant .zip file.
Would really love root on this, would make it the icing on the "sandwich" lol

No options at all sorry, im in the same boat, had kernel 10.
Hopefully there will be something soon,
Chur
I'm watching here and there if there's something new on the ICS rooting scene but nothing seems to happend for now. Feels like rooting kernels or searching exploits is out of fashion since many major devices providers don't lock their bootloaders anymore. Even Sony has left some air to Xperia owners.
Of course, I don't have access to hacking teams secrets and maybe today's situation is a calm before the (rooting) storm...
Anyone have any luck rooting the zte stormer / n9520? I know the zte warp (n9510) has a root method already, but I was wondering if that would work on the upcoming zte stormer. I know its not out yet but maybe someone has a pre release device?
Here's the info:
N9520, android 4.1.2
Baseband: N9520B01
Kernel 3.4.0-svn10453 [email protected]
SW: N9520V1.0.0B02
HW: cyyB
ZTE is obviously pretty new to the us cellphone market, so it doesn't seem like there's been lots of progress made on rooting their phones yet. Or maybe there's just not many people buying them yet??
Are there any generic rooting methods that are common for ZTE devices? I'm just not finding a lot of results.

I own a few ZTE devices and as far as I'm concerned there are no ZTE specific roots. The older ZTE Blade device was able to be easily rooted using Z4Root apk which basically runs a Gingerbreak exploit. There are other Android OS specific exploits capable of rooting ZTE devices (i.e. Bin4ry for ICS devices) but most of these have been patched by now. ZTE devices definitely do not have as big market as Samsung devices and therefore development for these is less. I would recommend Vroot V1.7.1 one-click root tool that has allowed me to successfully root a variety of JB devices whenever you have the new Stormer in hand.

Root method for zte n9520
Hey guys. So I asked this question a bit back and found an answer...check out this Post. http://www.photo-cool.com/?p=136637 I even emailed the guy and he responded telling me that everything remains the same but the phone is rooted so you can use "Root" apps ie: Titanium etc. The guy will also update the post as soon as he finds a custom rom that might work on it but for now just to root the phone, follow these simple instructions. So this might've solved the issue. I found a cheap case on ebay that came with a screen protector and a car plug for like 5 bucks. Anyway...love the phone
Once again page is :

If I helped...don't forget to click thanks
rooting the zte max
Yes the guy happens to be me and hes right just follow the directions i posted and you should be fine. I am working on a way to get the custom recovery working so we can then proceed on making custom roms on it i have 2 of these phones so i definitely dont mind building and testing on one of the devices since i purchased it to develope around it. Zte has always been difficult to get around but when theres a will theres a way and i determined to find it.
Most already knew about the root before he posted, but I greatly appreciate you working on recovery and roms. Would you possibly have an eta on those or custom kernel's?
Sent from my N9520 using xda app-developers app
MSL for programming
Is it even possible to get the MSL for this phone? I've tried all the MSL readers on the internet, tried all tricks (getprop ril.MSL), tried alogcat method, yet no show. Is it possible at all?

I then flashed Phil touch, there is a package out there to do it. Google Phil touch.
this is about the mainstream autorooting tools. (kingroot, kingoroot., etc) not specific tools that handle one or two exploits but the ones that utilize a plethora of options to attempt a root.
is there anyway to find out what particular exploit is being used or has been used on a particular device?
does question even make sense? i hope so.
but ya.
thanks and plz let me know

Need help rooting SM-J327V Android 7.0 Thanks to all.
Will be glad to pay someone to get this done. Thanks.
This is all I found so far I'm about to try it right now
Not yet
You still can’t root sm-j327v. TWRP recovery is making a custom recovery for it soon so I’ll tell you when it is available:good::good::good:
Any news on this twrp recovery yet?
Need this done what's the word
Nothing yet. Time will tell
Bumping this thread in search of new activity. I know it's a Verizon phone (so unlocks are unlikely), but I'm hopeful anyway.
A friend bought a new phone (thank goodness) and asked if I wanted their old one (one of these). I said sure, might be fun to fiddle with. That's about my level of investment.
Hi
هاي لوسمحتو اريد تجذير لهذا الجهاز
Hi, I'm new to this community. I have experience jailbreaking my iphone, but I am unfamiliar with how the different rooting applications work across multiple platforms (e.g. are they universal). I was thinking of buying a Sonim XP8 because it has a bunch of interesting features that I haven't seen on mainstream phones. However, I am not willing to buy one unless I am able to root it. Is my dream possible?
I too would like an XP8 with root. Is there anyone who can help with this request per chance?

I did read somewhere (on XDA) that someone rooted the XP7 with kingoRoot, but....that's all I've found.

I tried kingoroot, and it failed. I haven't been able to find any options either. Hopefully, someone has some ideas. I have come to rely on root to block ads. They are beyond horrible.
any update yet? is there any root yet ive tried about every root apps i cant even find working drivers for this phone
Sonim xp8 dual sim issue
When i put 2 sim cảd to the device but only 1 work
I talked to Sonim about getting root access as there is a problem with my Xp3800 flip and I know its just a xml edit. They told me the phone cannot be rooted as its encrypted and has secure boot which makes sense as these are geared towards public safety
Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the forum and have been reading old posts to get current on the state of the collective effort here. Though I'm looking to contribute overall anyway I can, my current short term goal is to get hotspot working with my current carrier (Mint) with the used XP8 I purchased. The handset was originally an AT&T phone and came with the Android 8 update installed.
At the moment, I'm attempting to get the 10 firmware update hoping that might solve the hotspot issue, but I suspect that it's the carrier specific software baked into the image that's the real cause.
Today I reached out to AT&T and, despite not being a customer, they claimed to have allowed my phone (By IMEI) to get access to the 10 update. We'll see if it actually works as the tech indicated that it would take two hours for the authorization to propagate. If so, I'll attempt to pull off the firmware and share it.
