Still not showing here, I still have 4.4.2 as the latest version.
Edit 18/08 : got ota update this morning, will try to root it later...
Edit 19/08 : got root using kingroot (not kingOroot), and supersu using supersu-me 8 pro

after a day of frustration with SPF, i was able to update the firmware , i stumbled upon the latest lollipop rom, the rom name is T2-A7-10F_S000044_ROW_TO_T2-A7-10F_S000054_150801_ROW_WC69.zip, its 887MB in size,i got the link from lenovo forums russian site, i cannot post the link as i dont have the right to do yet, hope this helps

its stock recovery, steps is simple, download rom. zip, copy to sd card, boot in recovery mode, install from sd card, after update is finished wipe cache, factory reset and reboot.. took aroind 10 mins to initiliaze and boot, seems to be working well till now but its not even 1 day so cant really comment on the stability, its android lollipop 5.0 and security hd has been removed which was full of bugs anyway, im liking it till now

Do you copy the zip to the microSD card "as is"? I mean, just the downloaded zip? I'm asking this because I tried with another ROM which I downloaded as a RAR file, tried decompressing it in the card, packing it as a zip, etc... with no luck (probably wrong ROM, I don't know).

I think the best option is really to download the Stock rom from Sammobile. Why can't you download?

When talking about the original rom, are we talk about the original firmware (1.2 gb)?
If yes, after I reinstall it using Odin,
what will be the status of the device? Rooted or not?

I hope I'm giving you the right info as I am translating into italian, last line is:
SEPF_GT-I9205_4.2.2_0019
If it is not I can take a picture of the full info screen.
Following the rooting tutorial I was able to root the device, but I had the following problem:
- Device memory was not recognized by the OS (win7) as explained in this thread. SD was recognized but not writeable.
- The device had the 2 red error lines when booting.
- After boot the device presented an error that something was triyng to go inside a protected area. I don't remember the exact error.
- There was no way to make wireless connection working and perhaps wasn't the only problem.

Or flash MegaFire V10 ROM from @megalomanic14. It's proven so one can flash this (4.2.2) rom over KK with new bootloader. Then you will have all functionality back and already rooted system.

Hey there, XD I'm just going to go back to the STOCK ROM, but the link you gave to S124, everytime I download it at the end it wouldn't finish saying Network Error ? But I'd try it tomorrow at another browser other than Chrome. Then other than that S124 in the link you gave, there's also this ORIGINAL RECOVERY, what is that

Hi. Flashing s124.. yes is the same like other roms.
Original Recovery you must use if and only if you want to use an custom recovery like TWRP or CWM.
KK Recovery i put them there for others who allready use custom recovery and want to OTA further updates from STOCK ROM.
If you flash your stock rom you dont need stock recovery because you allready have.
S124 is the last 4.2.2.
KK is 4.4.2.

flash it with cwm and then turn on and you have root jejeejjejeje
when you flashed JB4.1 KDZ file did you wipe data, partition sd card and dalvik cache??? 'cause you have to wipe everything before boot

i have keep cwm .bin and .img file on ex_sdcard then run adb shell aslo but they required root permissions ...

There's currently no way to root KK on this device without CWM. If you don't have it, only way is to revert to JB, root your device and install CWM. Then flash KK via CWM.
And you really shouldn't post your question in 3 different threads. No need to swamp this forum.

If we, the P715 users, flash KK via CWM, are we going to lose root permissions and the access to CWM recovery? Do you have any links for a rom.zip file where in we can flash it via CWM? if you dont know any, well thankyou at least.

The procedure should be the following:
- Install CWM
- Flash the ROM zip via CWM
- Flash SuperSu zip via CWM
- Reboot
Then you'll get the rooted ROM. No harm to CWM this way.
Regarding ROM for your device + SuperSu zip, you can find both in this post.

Well, I can say that the KK ROM is a bit less stable comparing to the JB one and a little more buggy (led not working is really annoying). If you don't want any specific KK feature, I'd suggest you wait for a more stable ROM.

Don't see a reason why not. However, once you have CWM installed, before upgrading to KK, make a nandroid backup from CWM, so you'll be able to revert if you encounter any issues with KK.

Yes, but why not flash the ZIP recovery update package in recovery instead of through SP¨Tool, just flash the http://download.clockworkmod.com/superuser/superuser.zip straight after it and you should have no problem. Worked for me

after i flash the P780_ROW_S226_4GB_KIT_KAT from your link it worked but I didnt test it for the phone signal. I didnt like the ROM because of small free memory so I tried to flash it again to life0.3 which I had before but it was failing with error "brom error: s_ft_readback_fail (4009)".
Since flash or root was failing, I updated it to S228 from inside the phones interface and decide to keep this ROM 228 but I have problems with the signal. It goes up and down all the time and sometimes i have no signal at all.
Can you please tell me a hint? can I fix the signal problem? the phone with this rom is not rooted which I didnt know before i flash it.
If I can not fix the signal problem can I flash it with another rom and have my phone rooted again?
I have read and tried many things but nothing worked and I am confused cause i dont master rooting and all its tricks.

Go to my post Rooting tutorial for KitKat and flash custom recovery TWRP!
After flashing TWRP go to my post How about some modems!
Download all modem for KitKat and upload them in your phone!
Reboot to recovery and flash one modem !
Reboot and check the signal!
If the signal is no good repeat the procedure !

thanx a lot stympy! the modem_P780_V101_Life_Vibe did the trick. not the Modem_P780_v.24_S228 which supposed to work.
The only way I could root was with the iRoot tool.
I would like to learn why my ROM does not allow to flash other roms with flash tool. It was a Stock ROM I guess.
If I flash it from TWRP with a rom that can be flashed with TWRP will I brick my phone? I have P780_s221_LiFe_XVIBE_v09 for example that I tried it before the 226 stock rom and it was working.
I have the IMEI Backed up with mobileuncle. Is that enough if something goes complete wrong so I dont have to total recover the phone?
Anyway, I dont want to tire you with many questions. It is that they are so many articles and it is confusing, and most of them are not working as someone would expect.

Hi. Look what you have to do:
Because you allready have TWRP installed do a full backup. For full backup you need to have an SD Card.
After backup you can flash with TWRP all roms that you want ! be careful that your rom, that you wish to flash must be KitKat! ar your phone get softbrick. That is no problem because you can restore your backup made with TWRP.

Dear stympy. I need more of your help. I can not flash even the one ROM I want. I have TWRP and I am trying to flash the VIBEUI_V2.0_1507 which the need rom guide says that it should be installed through TWRP. Unfortunately I get an error that "this package is for a P780 devices; this is "p780_ROW".
My phone must be CN cause the text on the battery are in Chinese. Am I right?
Can I flash VIBEUI ROM Over a ROW?
i saw in a thread that you have Life_07. Do you recommended?
If you would like to suggest me a ROM that you think is better and how to flash it ( I remind you that I have S228 ROW now) I would really appreciated.

Hi. Indeed your phone is made in china, like all P780.
You have installed ROW firmware, witch is one stable OS and latest KitKat for ROW OS.
If you want to get back to chinese firmware KitKat, you could try Baralajbi firmware from NeedRom site. It is a moded firmware, based on latest stable VIBEIU 2.0, i tested and is pretty good.
For old Jelly Bean, Life 0.7 is my favorite.
All this firmware that i told you about is flashing with SP Flash Tool.

All of my problems with flashing the ROMs fixed with the SP Flash tool v5. I don't know why everyone suggests v3. In my case after a dead end and a bricked phone, having errors with v3, when I used v5 I could flash anything I like, recovery, rom, stock, custom and all of my problems were solved.
For anyone who is Interested the CN ROMs where better than ROW. With ROW I had problems with modem, sound, even light sensor. With a custom CN ROM by VDT everything worked perfect and light.

Problems with mobile data / background processes
Just a question for you p780 owners,
i have the problem that some times mobile data just stop working. it still shows hsdpa but no data flow, only mobile data disable / enable solves the problem.
i´m using life 1.3.3 on the "old" CN 4gb, upgraded to 228 from 226 step by step the russian way (russian orig.) files, and using "modem by xakep"
have data sim card in slot 1, and a second for calls in slot 2
Network mostly used is umts in germany.
maybe someone has a little recommondation maybe for other modem files
another point is application in background isn´t working until screen is ticked on (using LLAMA Location based Profiles).

Yes. Try S226 ROW then do OTA update to S228.

Sorry about my grammar. I have lenovo p780 8GB row.So I was using the miui rom for a long time and thought of flashing the AOSP 4.4.4 row rom(by bauu).started by doing a full twrp backup.went to recovery mode while wipeing cache.davilik and data I accidently wiped system and the rom failed to instal.so I flashed back to stock jelly bean.rooted the phone and forwarded to instal the rom wiped cache davilik data and installed the rom the rom installed wiped cache and davelik.phone started without any problems.but the rom was using only external memory for storing apps and stuff and had some issues with camera and decided to go back to miui.went to recovery wiped cache davelik data and installed different version of miui(latest version)I was using v.5 or something before.usually I get 5 to 5.80 GB of free space in any roms I tried but I had only 3 Gb this time so flashed back to stock.tried factory reset and clearing cache in stock recovery. But couldn't recover the lost memory.operating system occupied 5GB space . I have no idea what to do any HELP is greatly appreciated

Flash any rooted kk rom using flash tool, but format except bootloader before flashing. After that flash any rom you want to, through recovery

You need to change jellybean to kitkat .
If not working ask @stympy
You need to flash stock rom using flash tool first make sure its not rooted and dont have custom recovery before updating the stock rom to kitkat .

Hey @stympy i was using miui v.5 before flashing. Flashed to aosp 4.4.4 and failed falshed back to stock flashed aosp and using miui v6.1.14 now

Hey bro thanks for replying. I was using the miui version 5.12.24 at first.flashed the aosp 4.4.4 version and failed flashed back to stock s119 and installed aosp freshly(this is where the phone memory lost) so flashed back again to jelly bean s119 couldnt recover.currently using miui pro 6.1.14 row.

hmmm. what are you telling me is that you flashed S119 witch by the way is JellyBean.
After this you installed TWRP or CWM and installed MIUI 6.1.14 witck is KITKAT ! Am i right till now ?
