After update to lollipop my voice call so bad and no one can hear me when I call before when I'm in kitkat my phone is fine so what's wrong I'm with latest version of software 23.1.a.1.28 so is that hardware problem or software
I have the same problem, and I can't say if it was present on kitkat. If I use headphones I have no problem, so maybe it's a hardware problem with the call microphone
But in kitkat no problem so they may be not q hardware problem
I've tried cleaning the phone with a brush teeth and now it seems to work much better!

I have an S2 which had an Orange branded gingerbread firmware on it. I had previously rooted the phone to unlock it to any network and it was working fine.
Lately though I have had a problem where I cannot hear audio in calls. Sometimes it comes back on but for the most part callers can hear me but I can't hear them. Speaker phone works fine and all tones/media sounds also work.
I thought this may be related to some tinkering I'd done deleting some bloat apps so I thought I'd try and solve it by re-flashing the phone and upgrading to ICS.
That hasn't helped though. Anyone any ideas or is it more likely to be a hardware issue?

Do you have load speakers working on calling or playing music? if so it is a 4.04 update problem and after weeks it might be correct or you must go to repair center for correct this bug that appear on hardware incompatibility with ICS
Try to pull up one line of your headphone socket and try it again it solves my headphone problem and have stereo on it.

I have a HTC One X+ and have tried a couple of different custom ROMS:
Carbon ROM 4.4.2
Carbon ROM 4.3.1
The roms run really well, the only problem i'm having is that when I am calling people, they hear an echo and the sound is muffled and really bad quality..
I can hear the caller perfectly though, all the sound issues are only heard by the caller?
I have searched and searched on Google and these XDA forums but still haven't been able to find a solution to this problem..
I thought it might have been the latest 4.4.2 rom so I downgraded to the 4.3.1 however the caller still receives really bad audio / echoing..
Has anyone got the same problem? and more importantly how can this be fixed?
It seems so weird that it's only on the receiver's end of the call that the sound issues occur, i've read about a noise suppression option but can't find it anywhere?
This is just using the phone, no bluetooth headset / speakerphone.
Any help much appreciated.

My friend told me about a similar issue he had on his phone (not HTC). He said that this happened after he flashed a beta kernel which was unstable.
thanks for your reply, I've now installed the latest Cyanogenmod rom and even though there still is a bit of an echo on the receiver's end in calls it's not half as bad as it was.

I am on nk1 bulid with root.

The issue
When i call using the stock dialer i hear no voice and the person at the other end does not hear anything.
But when i make calls through skype and viber, it works fine.
I have factory resetted it many times and have flashed odin nk1 build. But the same problem still exists. Previously i was on nc5 build.
When i use a bluetooth headset. It works. I can listen and talk through the bluetooth headset, but when i switch to speaker, earphone or earpiece mode, there is no audio.
It is driving me crazy and its awkward to keep a Bluetooth headset all the time..
Can there be a software fix if the issue is hardware? I mean i can listen through the bt headset why not through speaker when it is not broken.
Please suggest any fix..

If your full wiping and the issue is persisting, it's most likely a hardware issue. I don't know of any software fixes. Perhaps a new dialer?
try dialing ##RTN## from the dialer
this will do a full erase and a proper factory reset
if that doesn't do it

Hello.
Happy with my p6 with beta a13 no issue at all.
Update to a13 stable and then microphone not working on call when on loud, phone call or duo/meet call.
Tested microphone with camera and recorder to test both microphone and they work well.
Received another update yesterday but still the issue.
Does anyone else having this issue and do you resolved it by any way ?
I will reset factory if no one have answer but I'd like to understand what is happening before that.

Any luck with this issue? My microphone cuts in and out on calls since OTA update to Android 13. I thought it was hardware, but lots of reports of mic issues with this update. Haven't found anyone who has got it fixed yet.
