Hello,
I want to permanently disable the quick launch option in my ROM. I know the original way of changing this from "Settings", but is there a way to disable in the ROM itself ? So that by default quick launch is disabled for every new device i burn the ROM to. I am sure this is possible, but how do i do it ?
Thanks
[Q] Kitkat - How to: press phone # "link" to make it go to text instead of dialpad?
when there is an underlined phone number link that you can press (eg. on my calendar or someone texted me with another number), i want to be able to press it and have it go to my SMS app. however, i am only shown to have the choice to go to the phone app.
i believe when i had ICS/JB, it allowed me to go to the text app.
this is on LG G2, with a 4.4.2 kitkat rom (Carbon rom). i am rooted so i can use any xposed modules that may offer this feature, if anyone knows, that would be great. thanks!
I can add it using quickpanel manager app, but after reboot it reverts back. I need a way to permanently add it, if possible ?

Don't waste your money on this method!!!! Oppo still restricts background use and will not allow this solution to be permanent.
Sound to good to be true? That's because it kind of is. What this guide will get you is
1. No lock screen
2. A way to hide the orange developers option banner in the status bar
3. Gestures working so that you can swipe home on any launcher and go home instead of a blank screen.
Okay, time for the bad news....
1. this is going to cost money ( unless you can find free apps that can do it)
2. Status bar will constantly be hidden, unless you pull it down from the top.
Pre Reqs....
Apps needed
1. OnePlus Gestures
2. Immersive Manager
3. Hide Nav Bar
Knowledge of using adb. Guides can be found everywhere around here.
Alright lets get started.
First make sure you go into settings , Smart & Convenient, and choose Virtual Key Navigation ( Don't worry they will go away by the end of this tutorial)
1. Enable developer options.
2. In developer options check Do not use Lockscreen, turn on "usb debugging" and at the very bottom turn on "Disable Permission
Monitoring"
3. Open Immersive Manager and follow the prompts. Once done enabling the secure settings of the app in adb, Press Immersive
Mode Strategy and select global. Now press Global Immersive Mode and select Status Bar. Now you can turn on the Main
switch of the app.
4. Open OnePlus Gestures app and follow the prompts. Go down to gestures and select "Swipe Up Center" press "App" then
select whatever home launcher you're choosing to use. Scroll down and check " Hide Navigation Bar". Now go back up and
turn on the main switch
5. Now open the Hide Nav Bar app. Follow the prompts. Once done enabling the secure settings of the app in adb, press "Main
Switch" Now scroll down and uncheck "Show While Screen Is Off"
That's it all done. You can customize your swipe gestures however you want now.
Have any questions and I will answer them when I can.
good luck.

All of the required apps are from the same developer, correct?
@justinswidebody
I proceeded with the three apps from the same developer.
Enabled the two apps via ADB,& the OnePlus app,& followed your steps.
However,I still have the lockscreen.
Any suggestions?
@justinswidebody
NVM,had a blonde moment, the toggle for no lockscreen is in Developer Options.
THX Again for the tutorial,it's much appreciated! :good:

Lol, remember to take each of those apps in app manager to allow background process
following this guide will make loose Face ID Unlock on lockscreen ?
Hello, I've followed your instructions, everything went smoothly. The only issue is that Oneplus Gestures keeps on being disabled (Main Switch goes off and I have to reset Accessibility permissions). I've tried to lock the application, gave all permissions possible, but it keeps happening...

Yes I found that out too. Oppo no matter what restricts background use. I'm sorry you wasted money on this. I will update thread to let others know not to do this.

Never mind. Is there a way to reinstall the original launcher without resetting the phone (with a ADB command) ?

No, you would need the physical apk file and reinstall it. Otherwise you have to reset it. As stated above you can still use Nova launcher or other launchers and have all gestures working. Just choose the gestures with back on left, home center, and recent right
Here's my question... I try to wipe the data, it will ask for lockscreen password? I tey to download the stock rom, still i can't put it to root folder because it will ask again the lockscreen password? In short i forgot and didn't know what the password i put. Any help? Thanks in advance.?
sim, é só abrir o cmd e digitar esse comando coloque o nome do app que você quer restaurar, junto com esse comando e execute no cmd. adb shell cmd package install-existing "nome do aplicativo sem aspas"
