Hello,
I think I bricked my BQ Aquaris 4.5 phone but I'd like a confirmation:
I did a "wipe data/factory reset", and now my phone boots into a picture of an android robot being updated right after the operator logo. The image is animated, but it seems to be in some sort of "reboot" loop because it flashes black periodically (it doesn't completely reboot the phone tho, because I only see the operator logo the first time the phone boots).
Here are screenshots of what I'm talking about (since I can't link urls because of my new account I'm forced into tricks):
- tinyurl id o9d4h9z
- tinyurl id nenpfz8
When I plug the phone on my laptop, I see /dev/ttyACM0 for a short time but adb fails to connect to the phone (it's basically only available when the operator logo shows when the phone boots). I can't boot in recovery/fastboot/whatever anymore by pressing volume down after I reboot it with power+volume up/down.
I have an external SD card on that phone, is there any hope for me to boot onto it if I format it right? Are there other key combinations/tricks to put the phone on fastboot/recovery? I tried some trick around adb but adb just can't connect to the phone anymore.
Thanks in advance
soft bricked.
I think I may have bricked a phone it says unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped

Hi everyone,
Yesterday I made a Radio update to version 63.18.55.06_6.35.07.08. I made it putting the update.zip (radio rom) file in the SD Card.
All worked fine until the htc hero restarted (after appears the box with the orange arrow). Thereafter the Hero only shows the Hero logo when I turn on.
I tried to init the fastboot pressing home+power and home+back+power buttons (without SD Card and without SIM card) but always the result is the same, the logo appears and nothing happens.
The computer doesn't detects the Hero's USB connection and I can't run adb commands because it raises the "device not found" error.
Someone can help me?
Thanks in advance!
Did you let the screen with the box run its course?
Did the recovery console come back up saying formatting cache?
Have you tryed holding just back+power? ive never heard of using back+home+power
And also, i think your supposed to enter recovery with the sd in.
If that works then in that state is should be found by adb.
But yes, as the poster before me said, it should show the "unpacking" image, and then it should reboot. It should then go straight back into the recovery and the recovery will format the cache. If you tryed to turn it off at any point then, then something is badly mucked up. But it isnt bricked, and probably can be saved. Its only bricked when no logos at all come up on boot. If you managed to get it reconised by adb, you could probs format the cache manualy, though i dont know the command
All the previous steps after the breack are as you say, but after the "unpacking" image, the htc hero restarted and showed the hero logo instead the correct menu.
The problem with the adb is that the computer doesn't recognize the htc hero across usb. When I write the adb command ("adb devices") doesn't displays any device, and I can't run any adb shell for the same reason. How can I run any adb command if the device isn't recognized by the computer?
Have you tryed just taking the battery out, waiting 30 seconds, putting it back in, then booting the phone holding back+power?
And adb is very strange i find... Sometimes it reconises a phone, sometimes it doesnt, for no apparent reason. Have you tryed leaving it on the hero logo for a while then running adb commands?
If he has flashed, wouldnt the USB Debugging setting be reset also, wouldnt this be why he cannot access via adb.
Hi.
I habe exactly the same problem. I have updated radion.
Now ther come only the T-Mobile Logo and that's all.
I can not enter neither Recovery Mode nor fasbtoot does do something.
Any suggestions?
Lado
this problem shud be fixed asap because i think its a threat for all hero modders and owners as our phones get killed at anytime with this process. so guys lets try to find a solution for this problem. cheers
Updated Radio to 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26 and it killed my hero.
first the box with the orange arrow came up and then the whole phone died... now it wont even turn on the screen.
please fix?????????????????
I had the box with the orange arrow yesterday after flashing radio.
The phone isn't dead, I think it's just working.
I kinda paniced also when it happend but I got into recovery eventually.
When you flash a radio it does not actually install that image until your first boot (when you see that phone out the box image).
At this point DO NOT DO ANYTHING WITH THE PHONE just wait and it will install the image and reboot for you. IT CAN TAKE UP TO 10 MINUTES.
If you turn it off or otherwise interrupt this process it can really mess up your phone. however the general rule is so long as you can see the HTC logo when you turn on i.e. it still turns on you can in theory always recover, its just a matter of finding the way that works.
Hi, i've a strange (but i hope common and resolvable) problem.
After all, i say that i searched through the forum (with the search function) but with the solution that i found and tried i didn't solve anything.
I start saying that i got a p500 with a broken sdcard reader board (it simply doesn't have a microsd 'cause doesn't recognize).
That phone some days ago just shut down and went stuck on the LG Logo.
I tried at first the hard reset (home+vlm down+pwr), nothing happens.
I tried then the recovery mode and try to update with lg updater, and didn't work, lg doesn't recognize the phone on the updater (but on the main screen of the BBc app does).
The last thing that i noticed is that one time, powering on the phone, button's leds flashed about 4-5 times. but if i try to re-do the action, doesn't get anymore.
I would know if there is another way to exit from this stuck-screen.
I also post the log of error i get from kdz:
Upgrade error
WParam: 100
LParam: 500
Here is the log: http://pastebin.com/4SECdaT4
Other things i forgot to say:
I don't need to shake the phone, if kdz doesn't detect, i take off the battery, and turn on the phone in emergency mode (up+back+pwr).
Sometimes kdz works without that error, but it reboots the phone and it stucks again in the lg silver logo.
I read about a wipe of /system through adb, but if i try to mound /system, i get the command list.
I can't do adb devices, doesn't detect the phone, and in sequence to this, can't open the adb shell.
any suggestion?
You recovery got corrupt when it was stuck on LG logo, which could be easily solved by fastboot method of recovery flashing.
I was on the same situation like you are on now. Now follow this:
Try booting into fastboot mode by pressing "Power+ home buttons"
If it does then notify me here or at PM.
Between this is not the appropriate section for this thread.
I tried to fastboot, i did fastboot erase recovery and fastboot flash recovery recovery.img commands, no errors, but when i type fastboot reboot, on the screen i read: rebooting the device, but it doesn't reboot. If i take off the usb cable, (after a big time, 10 mins for example), a --suspend-- appears.
if i take off the battery, the lg logo is stuck again, and if i do home+vol down+pwr the clockwork mod doesn't appear.. any suggestion?
See your PM

One of my phones is a huawei y300 (Europe edition). I have managed to soft brick this phone so many times and I have revived it everytime. But the thing is my phone doesn't go into recovery if i press vol - and power, after i've taken the battery out (following std procedure). After using the phone for sometime, it begins to crash every single app. Then it restarts and goes into a huawei logo (I think it's a loop) and my linux doesn't detect it in any ports (can't use fastboot). I've completely wiped the the data/cust/system/cache partitions from recovery (when i have access to it) and I've flashed new ROM's still the madness continues. Any help is appreciated as anyhelp is better than no help
When i try adb devices it states that the device is in recovery state when it actually isn't. So I was wondering is the partition table damaged?
Hello, my Z3v was downloading/installing the Lollipop firmware over night and when I checked in the morning the phone was stuck in boot loop.
Following the SONY logo screen, it immediately goes into "Error - Update Failed" and it keeps repeating the loop if plugged in to the wall charger (if not, it shuts off shortly after). I have tried recovery mode but it doesn't work (tried both Power + Volume Up and Power + Volume Down), it immediately goes to the dead android robot with "Error-Update Failed" screen and repeat.
I have tried PC Companion, however there is no Z3v in the available device recovery list, and based on the search neither Verizon or Sony is providing support for the device? which is just plain ridiculous. I can get as far as having the "Upgrading, do not disconnect device from PC" screen when connected to the PC Companion while I have to choose the restore device (again, no Z3v so can't proceed any further from here).
My question is -
1. Is there a way to access the folders in the phone to retrieve data from it? My guess is not while in boot loop since it keeps disconnecting but a way to do it on the "Upgrading" screen?
2. If I don't mind the hard wipe, is there a way to get this fixed? Verizon technician gave up after 3+ hours of trying...
Thank you so much!
Just Turn off your phone and flash it with Flashtool then it will comeback
Thanks for the reply. The Verizon technician told me he tried flashing it several times with no luck. And personally, I've never done it myself. Is there a step by step guide on how to do so? Thank you so much!!!
My phone cannot boot into the OS. I would like to back up the photos directly in the recovery mode using USB cable+PC before factory reset.
Before the problem happened, my phone was attempted to update the software for about a week. Since it did not have enough free space, it prompted me to either free up more space or do the update later. I always hit update later. Until 3 days ago in the morning, my phone restarted (perhaps attempted to update) and stuck at the red Verizon screen and cannot power off unless power off from bootloader or Android recovery. I have tried to go to Safe mode but the phone just would not go past the red Verizon screen. If I go to Android Recovery by hitting power+volume up+home buttons together, it says system update (blue screen)-->update fail (blue screen with a dead robot)-->Android Recovery (black screen). In the Android Recovery, I have tried to wipe cache partition but still cannot get into the OS.
Now, I am hoping to back up the photos in my phone from a PC with a USB cable directly in the recovery mode. My phone is not rooted and does not have TWRP or any recovery app installed. When I connect the phone to a PC, the icon in notification (bottom right of Windows 10) shows that the PC can find my phone. However, when I go to "This PC", the phone does not show up in the "Devices and Drives." I have also tried Samsung Smart Switch and it cannot find the phone.
Please help! Thank you.
