Hi, I have attempted to create a backup pre root, you can find it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0c1jpaziDZ-NDRzeWdnR1BPYlk/view?usp=sharing
it does not look quite right (but I have not created one before) You will find 5 files, boot.img, recovery.img, system.ext4.tar (0 KB) and system.ext4.tar.a and system.ext4.tar.b
Not certain if the system.ext4 partition is dumped correctly as 3 files.

[Q] Can I use nanddump raw nand dump .img to restore from Recovery or FastBoot?

I am a novice in Android and even in Tablets. I bought my first Android tablet on 18th this month, and I was curious to have backups as the Company has provided nothing at all, no backup stock images. I rooted the device, and installed ClockWorkMod Recovery, and I created backups. I have not flashed any mod/upgrade in Tablet till now and it works fine. I created nanddump oob images of all partitions from /proc/mtd. All these images are raw nand dump images, of partitions. For emergency uses and knowledge, can I flash these nanddump dumped images via FastBoot or via Custom Recovery? Will it work? Please help.

Should be as simple as this:
Find the dev block of the system partition
cat /proc/mounts
Example: system partitopn is in /dev/block/mmcblk0p16
Make a copy of the system partition:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p16 of=/sdcard/system.img
Copy f/sdcard/system.img rom your phone to PC
Connect your other phone in fastboot mode and flash the created system.img
fastboot flash system system.img

[Q] Access nandroid backup content (.win files)

hey guys,
I have made a nandroid backup of my nexus 7 (2012) and I need to get access to contents of the data partition without actually applying the nandroid backup to the device. I found this "unyaffs" tool, but it requires .img files if I understood it correctly. However, in my nandroid backup directory, I have a couple of files that end in ".win" or ".win000" etc (along with corresponding md5-files)...these must be image files of some sort I guess, but Windows describes them as "Adobe CMS Extensions" for some reason.
So...anyone knows how I can access this data? Any help appreciated!
cheers

[Q] Need help restoring nandroid backup - Error while flashing boot image!

I have serious problems with my phone, INVALID IMEI, NO SIM, everything is described in my other thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...tex-aqua-5-t3006568/post58266157#post58266157
Tried everything possible, but no luck. Now I'm turning back to my nandroid backup as my only hope... But I'm stuck with error :
Checking MD5 sums...
Erasing boot before restore...
Restoring boot image...
Error while flashing boot image!
Backup itself looks fine, it is Online Nandroid v9.52, and there was no errors in backup process (as I can see in recovery.txt) its located in folder clockworkmod - backup. It's made of these files:
boot
cache.ext4
data.ext 4
modem
nandroid.md5
recovery
system.ext4
Whats causing this error message, and what can i do about it?
Also in data.ext.4 among others there is nvram folder with these files: md, md2,dm,APCFG,Restore Flag (if anybody knows how to flash it maybe that is solution for my INVALID IMEI).
My phone is rooted, there is custom ROM on it. (MIUI V5 FOR INTEX AQUA I-5 ). And CWM recovery for this ROM. (CWM v5.5.0.4 )
IMPORTANT: Cant connect phone to PC, pins for data transfer are damaged. But can transfer files from PC to Phone - Wifi transfer.
Try to Flash stock rom ....
May be all problem are solved...?

Not so easy without usb connection, there is just one version of stock rom for this phone on the Internet, It is made from two rar files, and as I see It's made for flashing SP Flash Tool. I even tried to make zip file from it, and flash via cwm but no luck, error pops out. Just started thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/stock-rom-intex-aqua-5-t3007603) hoping someone will post new stock rom, until then looking for solution here.
Figured out why my nandorid backup cant be restored, and gives an error "error while flashing boot image". When I made a backup there was no boot.img file in it. (as you cant see below in log file) So I added a file from only stock rom found on the net (that stock Is not made for cwm and cant be flashed via cwm, just via SP Flash Too so I cannot use it). but my logic was that I can borrow missing boot.img and put it in my backup folder). So obviously its not solution.

But after this there is no boot.img at all in backed up files as you can see.

----rwxr-x 1 553781248 Dec 8 02:19 system.ext4.tar"
Why I dont have file boot.img in my backup and how can i fix it? :/
Someone said that I make another backup via cwm and keep just boot.img in it, then copy my old files in that new created folder , but i doubt it will work cause Im on custom ROM now (MIUI) and i want to restore stock (Andorid 4.2.1).

Nandroid backup question

So I'm used to doing backup of devices in TWRP but it seems that nandroid is the way you do it with these. I downloaded and ran a backup to SD Card. I chose the option for TWRP backup, will that allow me to do a restore of the image I created here from recovery or would i need to install TWRP recovery to recover? If I chose the backup type Clockworkmod would that be restoreable from stock recovery? The directory it created is only 1.6GB w/o compression which doesn't seem right to me.
I did read the idiots guide to root first BTW.
Thanks guys.
Tried to do a recovery restore using optin recover system from backup but I have no idea the path it is looking for, it doesn't say just says no system.img so ignore. So it appears nandroid creates a system.ext4.tar so I suppose I could decompress this and see if there is a system.img file that the recovery is looking for and put it in the root of the sdcard if recovery is actually looking /external_sd.
Anyone have any input?

Anyway to Clone a Rooted Android Tv Box?

I'm looking for a way to clone a Rooted android box to other android boxes. I want to clone my Tv launcher and apps plus settings.. I have tried a few programs Titanium backup but it seemed to back it up and restore fine but fails to recovery the settings for each app. If there is a faster way of doing this please let me know. The boxes are all different, but have the same processors s905x amlogic. Is there a way to make a IMG then use the usb burning tool to write to each box?
I Used Filezilla to grab files but it also fails to load all the files from the entire box?
Use twrp to create a image then flash that image to the other
I'd agree with Bcoates84, I've been testing out the process of cloning some Samsung tablets by simply restoring TWRP backups and so far everything's worked out pretty well.
It would be a good idea to backup the target ones just in case before trying it since you mentioned they are different boxes.
If you look up TWRP for your specific model(s) there should be some good information to get you heading in the right direction.
So i have done my backup on the box i want to clone, ill call it A-box. I got a Folder called TWRP/Backups With a few files
Boot.emmc.win
data.ext4.win000
data.ext4.win001
data.info
recovery.log
system.ext4.win
system.info
I plugged the stick into the box i want to clone, ill call it b-box went to restore this time and it fails to see the backup?
So I copied the TWRP folder with it's contents this time to my desktop and deleted the TWRP folder from the USB stick. Decided to do a Backup on b-box even know i didn't need the backup just wanted the folder structure to compare the two which i then got.
Boot.emmc.win
data.ext4.win
data.info
recovery.log
system.ext4.win
system.info
So I removed all the FILES from the usb only leaving the folder structure TWRP/BACKUP/SERIALNUMBERS I'm guessing? Also the p212-userdebug_6.0.1 folder. Then copied my files from A-box into the file structure and went to do a restore and it sees the image! Restore went smooth, went to reboot and it's stuck on android splash screen for 30mins now so guessing it's bricked. I can flash stock img back thats not a issue. Just trying to figure out how to clone this damn thing lol.
Is there anyway to simply make a Img so i can flash it via the amlogic usb burning tool. I saw this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2746044 which i can extract the system.ext4 seeing all the system files, fast_preinstall, addon.d, app, bin, fonts, usr ect... But i don't see boot.emmc.win anywhere? I'm assuming this methods for phones only?
