Hi everyone!
Last month my usb cable for the HTC EVO 3D got ripped in one of its ends and it doesn't charge properly, i have to bend it slightly and then it starts charging.
Today i decided to buy another usb cable to replace it (it's made by Samsung) and i was surprised that it doesn't charge at all! Not even when i plug it in on my Mac. I tried another cable, which i don't know what brand is and it also doesn't charge, but when i use my friend's samsung s3 adapter it works.
I'm using the original htc adapter is it possible because of that it doesn't support other brands?

Hello,
I work in IT, and have been given two of these phones that both have their own problems. I finally found a disassembly guide at http://www.pdacenter.ru/razborka/razbor_htc_star_trek/
The one phone has no charging port at all. The other phone has a broken external LCD screen. So I want to move the working external LCD from the phone with the broken proprietary usb port to the phone with the broken screen. In theory I should have a working phone.
Now I don't have any wall charger for this phone (blasted proprietary port!) But I have the usb sync cable that fits the phone. I tried plugging this into 4 different USB ports and none of them will charge the dang thing. I guess my question is, does the USB sync cable charge the STAR100? I have two batteries here that are dead (they sat around for months). I know my Cingular 8525 Hermes charges via the USB port (although that port is very flaky, I use a desktop charger).
So am I out of luck, or do I need to get a wall charger? I could find one at work to test tomorrow, but I would of liked to test it now.
move
instead of doing that, move the working control board from the one with the good charging port to the other one, it will be much easier and yes you can use the usb to charge.
Thanks I got it to work.
Today at work I sourced a wall charger. That made the LED light red on the phone, after awhile it turned orange, then green (after about 4+ hours). Now it appears to charge off the USB cable at home.
Now if I can only figure out how to get a T-Mobile sim to work in it, without paying an unlocking service (I have enough bills to pay with a wedding coming up this October).
I have one question, does miniusb cable will fit with this device or need special cable ?
the blueangel has a special port, there are adapters for notebook chargers, which covers a AC-supply generalisation, but there is no standard usb cable to use. i recently got a universal and i have to say i love the mini-usb port, since you can use all new htc accessories and everything you got lying around, i actually sync my device with a cable that came with a card reader, all that, unfortunately, is not possible with the ba
I realised this yesterday after 23:58 Very bad - i don't know where to find original cable or some connector pinout. Even my siemens unlocking cable don't work.
Nothing, phone will stay with german rom, wm2003. Even flashing via sd card not possible
Blue Angel usb cables can easily be found online if you look for them I purchased a couple for 10 dollars or less.
They tended to come with a USB docking station, this is what you'd use to sync it to a computer.
I am selling one, but postage could be an issue...

So I was charging my phone and using it at the same time...and the charger doesnt stay in. its so loose....anyone else have this problem?
When my wife and I first got our Captivates her connection was really loose and would fall out. It turned out to be the plug itself, so maybe you can take it back to where you bought it from and ask for a new one.
This is my third Samsung android phone (captivate and nexus s), and it seems to be a common issue. I think its the cable though, as an HTC cable is nice and snug.
Sent from my ATT GS2
Have you tried plugging in another cable yet? Micro USB is a pretty common cable these days.
No problems with loose connections here.
In MicroUSB, the springs are moved from the device to the cable - so try another cable.
Is anyone else having problems with the charging port not staying tight? When I first got the phone the original charger worked fine. Over time it loosened up, and I understand that. But it got to the point where it didn't charge. So I've been using an old cable. I went to Verizon the other day and took the original cable with me and they exchanged it for a new one(their brand of course). Well the other night, the old cable I've been using to transfer stuff to my phone is to the point where if you move it any it disconnects from computer. And tonight the new cable I got a couple days ago is loose. it's still working though. When I first got it it fit tightly in there. I've been extra careful not to pull it out at any angles or anything.
Try this cable
Try this cable. Works very well for me. Search ebay for:
Lot 5 White New Original OEM HTC High Quality DC T500 ExtMicro USB Cable Charger
My USB cable (the one which came with the phone when I purchased it) was broken so I went to the mobile shop and bought a new one. When I came home, I realized that the new cable is not the same as the broken one. The broken one had cylindrical tubes on it which apparently meant to be used for charging, while the new one is just for data transfer.
So is there any harm in using this cable for charging?
Where can I get the USB cable which can be used for charging?
P.S I live in Egypt.
