Completely Unresponsive/No LED - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

My Z Ultra, completely died today when I ran out of battery. However, now when I try to charge it, I get no LED indicator, and if I try to power it on I get nothing. When I plug it into my PC I just get unrecognized usb device. I have tried the power button and volume up method but it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Let it sit overnight with the charger connected. If tomorrow there is still no life. Well ...bad luck. Use your warranty to replace a dead device
My old android devices often do this. Its like dead. For a whole day until the red light flashes for the rest of the day until it lights up red for a few hours until it gets green. Keep the hopes up!

[Q] Atrix Not Powering Up

I let my battery die off this morning til I got home. I plugged it into the wall and tried to boot up. I got the green light to flash but then nothing. I pulled the battery out and even left it charging for a few hours. Still, the phone does not power up. The green light turns on for a bit and then off. I haven't done any mods to the phone...
Any idea what is going on? Or perhaps how I can fix this? Any help would be great.
Weird. I had it plugged in my Energizer Ps3 controller stand (it has two usb outputs) which was giving me the issue before. I finally plugged it in to the wall and it boot up fine. I guess the PS3 stand may be faulty...

Use the charger that came with your phone.
If you do a google search, you will see that the droid x and droid 2 also have this same issue.
next time it happens, pull the batter and SD card. wait a minute or two, put in the sdcard and battery, then plug in the WALL charger. It will power on the phone and boot it up.
has happend to me twice - so now i just never turn off my phone rebooting it is also touch n go to be honest... the phone is sooo sensitive!
The phone's not sensitive...it requires an 800mA charger (0.8A). If you connect it to something less it doesn't have enough power to charge the device. If you let it sit long enough it *WILL* charge it...but it'll probably take a day to have enough juice to start up. If you let the battery drain completely it usually won't turn on until there's like 15% or more battery charged. Charging 15% battery on a 400mA charger (which could very well be the level your PS3 charging stand outputs) would probably take like 7 hours.
Thanks for the info, everyone!
I'm sorry for the bump, but this has happened to my mother's Atrix that I gave her just 2 days ago.
She found it turned off, wouldn't power. I figured it wasn't charged so I'm trying to charge it on the wall adapter that it came with but no green light. I've put it on my laptop and the green light appears.
It's not turning on though...can someone reassure me that if the light turns on, it WILL power eventually?
Same problem here

pull battery then put it back in then connect to the stock charger and let it sit for 10-15min then start it up
in the future try not to let it get below 5%, i've heard the 3d has issues initiating a charge on fully drained batteries

Did not work, on the stock charger it just flashes the led light and doesnt charge, I'm still on my 30 day so ill bring it back and say it has a defective battery/charge system, no need to tell them I'm rooted
try plug in your pc and do a
adb reboot-bootloader

If the battery is completely dead the red led will blink for a little bit until it gets a little juice built up and then it will turn solid red. Definitely don't think your bricked. I've had this happen several times on the 3D and the 4G.
Hello guys, I'm experimenting the same issue! It was working like a charm, then I left without simcard in airplane mode, but with wifi on.
When out from wifi coverage, it turned off (maybe because of the battery drain) and can't bring it back to life!
This is just incredible, I can't believe there is no way to wake up it.
I'm trying to charge with its charger, with PC connection and nothing happens: red light for a little while and everything off again after a couple of seconds ... I'm getting nervous :-(
Take the battery out, plug it in wait till the red light goes off, 5 seconds. Now press the camera button... Phone will turn on

HELP! Prime won't start up.

So I took the prime of its box, plugged it into the wall and tried turning it on. When I did, the Android battery indicator screen showed up. The battery was in the red, about a quarter the way up. I've since called Asus about the issue, and they told me to charge it for about an hour. I've done that, and still it doesn't work. It still boots into the same screen. It won't even go into recovery if I hold volume- and power for 10 seconds, just back to the battery screen. I feel like maybe I'M doing something wrong here. Any ideas, guys?

it's gotta charge. mine did that too and i was freaking out. apparently not all tablets are charged. It took about 10 minutes to finally get it to boot up.
If you charge it and it still doesnt...then it might be time to ..worry
I'm only worried because it's been charging for an hour and still just goes to the battery screen, shutting off immediately after. I'll let it charge for a few hours and if it still doesn't work I'll just have to call Asus.
Whoa sorry to hear this. When i plugged mine in it started booting up & went to the home screen. It had 21% battery left on it.So i shut it down & letting it charge the full 8 hours that's recommended before even using the device.I hope yours works.
Make sure the charging light is on
where's the charging light?
its built into the power on button. a tiny little orange led
It's not coming on. When I plug the tablet in, it recognizes that it's plugged in and vibrates, tries to turn onamd fails.
Make sure it is plugged in all the way in the tablet.. and then wait a bit. you must use the wall charger.
It has been plugged all the way into the tablet with the wall charger :-/
Dang! Sorry to hear this. if it doesn't come on within the hour id say just exchange it. it might bea faculty unit. it should have enough juice to boot up by now considering if you charging it properly. Good luck. wish it was working for you because this is a great device.
I am having the same problem too when I first plugged it in the battery indicator screen came on real fast and turned off the orange charging light came on and turned off.I tried plugging into the computer it does nothing diffrent.I think it might bricked.
okay. i just got my primetoday, same deal. it doesn't start, tried to reset, etc. i finally charged it for a while, after a while, it finally boots. at that point it was at the 15% battery life mark.
seems a bit odd.... i would wait and see.. if its game stop they would of had games installed on it.
I just got mine today...woot!!! But the issue that u have happened to me also what it happened was a faulty charger

I tested the charger on my phone and it worked. I plugged into the tablet and pressed the power button the led came on and blinked and turned off quickly.I think the battery needs a good charge.
I had to charge mine until the battery indicator was green before it would turn on. Said in the manual to fully charge before using for the first time... so maybe it doesn't let you start up until charged?
Well after 3 hours of charging it finaly started up but the battery level was low 3% showing that tells me the battery had no charge in it.Well I am happy that it is working and hopefully no other problems show up.
Good to hear
Same exact thing happened to me, lol. Mine arrived with zero charge and I just let it sit for about an hour plugged in and all was well.

Transformer Prime won't Charge or Boot

Hi, My Prime went dead earlier this week. I get nothing. The keyboard charges just fine. it went from blinking orange light to solid orange light and then finally green.
I get nothing from the tablet. it won't turn on. I don't get the red battery light showing that it's dead. no lights at all. I've also tried directly charging the tablet. I've held down the power button for well over a minute with nothing.
I have not tried putting it in a freezer or plugging it into a laptop as suggested in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480435
If you suggest the freezer for how long?
Any Ideas?
I'll take the 42 views and 0 replies that it's dead. That's a shame.

There is a post on here somewhere about opening the prime up and flicking some switch on and off.
I don't know where the post is or if it would help you but I definitely read it at some point.

I actually have just had this same problem occur to me, I've booked it in for a return to manufacturer, this will be my fourth return.
I've tried that switch on the inside, didn't do anything but kill the power. Nothing seems to want to work and I do actually get a red battery status but it won't charge and the orange light just blinks twice.
On a personal note, I actually despise this tablet, it's had a few good months and that's it, if id have paid for this lump of sh** then i'd be one unhappy camper.

Since most recent stock update, no green light?

Since I updated using the RUU from the HTC site about a month ago, I no longer get a green light to indicate charging is complete. When I unplug it from the charger, the red light stays on indefinitely. When I finally do turn on the phone, I have a full battery.
Any ideas?
How much time do you charge?
Oh and by the way, you know that 100% battery is only a myth ?
I understand that, but I'd at least like to see the green light come on when it's close as it is designed to do... and for the red light to go out when it's unplugged. I usually charge the phone when I get home from work and don't unplug it for about 12-15 hours.

Proably the RUU didn't managed to put the file correctly on the phone. Happens run it again, plug the USB Cable into a 2.0 port and don't even move it to the right or the left, it could affect data flow. Happened to me, ended up with a black screen, good thing mine was charged to a 100% before I run the RUU so I was still able to boot into fastboot.
