[Q] Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III replicant and drivers - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replicant_(operating_system)
According to wikipedia several devices will not work if replicant is flashed. Can you flash non free drivers so that all devices will work in combination with replicant?
Thanks.

I too would like to know this

[Q] Installing android OS on samsung star3 duos S5222

How do I install android on my Samsung Star 3 Duos S5222? It has almost the same specs as that of Samsung Galaxy Y Duos except the accelerometer.
You would need to compile a kernel and also access the bootloader of your Star 3 as a starting point. Whilst accessing the bootloader might be achievable using just Google, kernel development is something much more difficult.

..what is not built on a solid base cannot be 'stable'...if only you would read enough, you would know that some vital stuff is yet to be opened out by Samsung and which is crucial to reaching 'stability' as defined at CM.See the point?

No, CM9 is not what he was looking for. He said CM10 and as wmc90 clearly stated, i9300 international version is not stable yet.

[Q] Will the CyanogenMod app root MJ7?

I saw a post about the CyanogenMod app on the Play Store. In the article it says that you don't need a rooted device for this to work, and when it is put on your phone it will root it for you as well as installing the ROM itself. I was wondering if anybody has tried it on their Galaxy S4 running the latest MJ7 build (4.3). In the list of devices it states that the Galaxy S4 is supported, and it was posted yesterday so I wasn't sure if it was including all variants and builds.
Here's the link:

**I'm looking to root my phone but don't trust any of the vroot methods until they are confirmed safe. So if this has worked maybe this is the only safe method for now. Just a thought.

Probably won't, considering only models with old firmware can run AOSP.

How to Root and Flash Samsung Galaxy S III Progre

Model Number SCL21
Android Version 4.1.2
Kernel Version 3.0.31
I have a Samsung Galaxy S III Progre from 2014?. I want to continue to use the phone but the OS is no longer compatible with many apps. I've found several tutorials about rooting and flashing Galaxy S3 I9300 to Android 7.1.1 CM14.1 Nougat. These tutorials are always insistent that it only applies to S3 I9300.
1) What's the difference between Galaxy S III Progre and Galaxy S3 I9300?
2) Can the Galaxy S III Progre be updated with one of the more recent candy OS? If so, which is the latest that is compatible?
Please help me, there's a lot of information out there but it's mostly outdated with links that are inactive.
