If you unlocked bootloader and you did root permission you could try link2sd after partitioning your sd card

I started a thread back in May when i got the phone. Since in SIII they have one partition now for all apps the app2sd is not required. If you see you'll have one huge SD space 11.gb available for all apps and that's the SD card so you dont need or can't use app2SD.
But I have already used the SD card (phone's) 's 3.4 GB solely for Apps. Now I want to transfer the bulky apps to the "real" microSD card. I hope It was possible...
you can use the app from google play; gl to sd!
it's working great but you need to have ROOT

well Enjoy u r new device:good:
u can only send a part of the apps on sd card without rooting( use app2sd) or if u root u r device u can use link2sd and it will send the whole app to sd card.

Hi Afshin,
I think there is a script to emulate and switch the external SD card and make it the internal SD card to the system (the USB storage) and the USB storage to the external card.
I don't know the exact link so you have to search in XDA. Search for "switching external SD card to internal memory card".

I dont know if you can make it "default" storage, but for any third party app/game to be able to write on sd card you need to root your phone and instal KK sd card fix.

[Q] Partitioning the SD Card

I bought a Moto E 1st Gen for my sister and she's managed to fill up the internal memory and his having issue fitting more apps on it.
I remember when I had a HTC Desire years ago I used 4EXT recovery to partition the sd card, so a portion of it behaved as if it were internal memory. Is it possible to use this or any other method to do the same with the Moto E 1st Gen?
Thanks.

You can partition sd card using mini partition tool on pc.
Alternatively for internal memory issue you can use xinstallerSD.
Thanks for the advise. How can does xinstaller help with the internal memory issue, does it allow you to move apps you normally wouldn't to the SD card?

ohh sorry its xinternalSD not xinstaller.
By using it your ext_sd will act as intnl mem
means apps can store their data and obb files on sd card.

Does it need xposed pre-installed? Anyone tested on moto e?
You can also partition SD card in twrp recovery
And use link2sd pro to move system as well as internal apps to SD card.
Hit thanks if I helped
I'm in much the same position as the OP; mother-in-law has a full Moto E, and I've got an HTC Desire so, given that X Install SD requires Root and the XPosed framework (as far as I can tell), why would I want to do this rather than going down a custom ROM route? I guess My mother-in-law isn't very tech savvy so I'd be hoping to make sure the phone works reliably but allows system updates (currently she's got loads of apps that need updating but they can't because there's insufficient storage), and allows her to install a few more apps etc.
Just for the record, I've looked through the FAQ section and find it a little bizarre that "How can I get more app storage space on my Moto E?" isn't a FAQ!
Thanks for any advice/help

Increase Internal Storage through Marshmallow?

Well...
I've got a moto E and a 8GB SD card. I have been using MM(AICP) for like months and I really love the ROM and its battery backup but the thing is I'm running out of storage space.. The system itself takes like 1.2 GB out of 2.1 GB available internal storage and few basic apps - I'm full...
I have only 1 game and would like to try more like I used to but can't download as play stores says I'm out of space... Updating apps have been an issue too.. I want to fix this by buying a Samsung 32GB EVO+ class 10 (20MB/s Write Speed) and use it as my internal storage...
Worth it?
Anyone using their SDCards as internal storage? Bugs or Good Experience?
Should I buy or go back to CM11?
-Thanks
Yes. It will be worth it and the problem you are facing is faced by everyone.
So is your phone rooted? If not search xda for methods to root your phone. Then use Link2sd. You can find detailed guide on how Link2sd works in xda itself. if not then i can help.
How link2sd works? In short:-
It requires 2 partitions of your sd card (you will know how to partition your sd in every link2sd guide) one partition for media storage like songs videos images etc and the other will work as internal memory. For this you will require rooted device. And also you will need Foldermount which will enable you to move the obb or game data from internal to external sd. And root is necessary for this too. Hope it helps.
Marshmallow has inbuilt feature of using Memory Card as Internal Storage.
I am using it from a month and honestly no bugs.
The only problem is that you have to format your SD card in the phone itself to use again as portable storage device.
The second thing is that If you format your phone or start using another ROM your SD card data will be of no use and you will have to format it again.
Hope I helped you.
Thanks both of you... I should go for a 32GB class 10 then?

Yes you can.
Now... I've got the SD Card. What should I prefer? Link2SD or Marshmallow's feature?
I want to get the best performance out of SD card... Plus hassle free operation.

marshmallows feature since it automatically moves all apps to SDcard.
One more thing link2sd will create partition out of your SD card while marshmallow will automatically format your SD card as internal storage..
Marshmallow feature is strongly preferred.
Hope I solved your query.?
Well I've been using this hybrid method lol. I partitioned my SD card so that - one partition is used for marshmallow's feature and rest space as portable storage
Didn't wanted to go all in as the feature encrypts the entire card and makes it unusable on other devices.
My phone's running smoother than before maybe coz of the Class 10 UHS-1(though UHS-1 speeds aren't supported by my device) card I've been using. I'm getting ~11.63 MB/s which is faster than phone stock internal storage(~11MB/s).
Thanks for all you suggestions and inputs!
