Ulefone Be Touch OTA
Hi,
I have rooted my Be Touch and installed custom recovery as well using this guide
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-ulefone-touch-lollipop-t3132204
Now, there is an available OTA from the local reseller and I can't install it due to custom recovery. How do I update my phone now? The error I am getting is System is Damaged which I have attributed to CUstom Recovery upon searching google
I have the same problem to update phone. The downloaded update.zip file over OTA could be found in my SD-card, just 18.89Mb. I've tried to install it using recovery by choosing "install zip -> choose zip from sdcard". But finally I got following error:
...
Verifying current system...
"EMMC:boot:7262208:..." has unexpected contents.
E:Error in update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Hofefully someone could help?
yes same with me, I am trying sideloading with ADB but I do not know about that, unable to make a connection between PC and phone. Maybe someone has stock recovery image so we can perform the OTA update? Anyone can upload their stock recovery?
Reverting back to kitkat.
I tried flashing using spflash on my Ulefone Be touch, it was on lollipop and it did not transition to kitkat. it in fact got semi bricked but i got through that and fixed it. the phone was originally rebranded so it had another skin on top of it (not ulefone). how can i get it back to kitkat? do i have to root it and manually flash it on my phone? or is flashing a downgrade not possible by just regular means?

Here is the latest stock rom: http://ulefone.com/download/betouch.html. You will find the boot.img and recovery.img in the zip file. But I'm afraid to brick my phone to have a try. Moreover I don't know whether this root method could still work if I get phone flashed successfully...
are you using a rebrand? I already flashed the recovery of Be Touch, unrooted my phone as well but OTA is still failing, even manual zip install and sideload fails. I guess it is because my phone is a rebrand and thus, uses another recovery as stock. I have used this ROM as my base now and I can confirm that root is still working

I think my phone is not rebrand, because there is ulefone logo on rear cover. I got it rooted with Build 20150513 ROM.
With the rooted Build 20150513 ROM, I get phone flashed with official Build 20150529 ROM successfully. Afterwards, the root method still works!
yup and i hope we get new build soon with bug fixes! Does your phone get a lot of heat when charging and browsing 3G?

I've used several phones and can accept this one. More faster to change the phone more heat will get produced. Surfing or gaming will need more hardware resource and power for display, no wonder that it will get warm too. Maybe a metal cover will get heat better distributed, but then it will be sold in another price...

You should try 20150702 ROM. Phone is now not less hot when charging and surfing. I did flash back to official 20150529 ROM and then do the OTA update.
There is a ROM of ulefone be touch 2 on needrom !
Rooted Be Touch 2, Xposed, Loving it.
Hi folks. I used this process to successfuly root my Ulefone Be Touch 2. Instead of the provided recovery.img and boot.img, I used a version of Carliv Recovery and the Be Touch 2 boot.img found through needrom and it worked perfectly.
I was also able to install Xposed Framework by changing the Android version from 5.1 to 5.0 in prop settings (using BuildProp Editor) - which is fine since most say it's fake 5.1 anyway.
Does anyone know whether people have successfully installed custom roms to the Be Touch 2? I find the stock ROM laggy - more so than it should be - but I hesitate to install something like CM or Liquidsmooth without knowing.
Thanks again to the OP!!
Looking for Be Touch 2 Root and Recovery too! Any luck? Thanks in advance!
Download link dosen´t work
Hi, I don´t get the download link to work. I only gets the error code "403 forbidden". Can you please upload the files again, thanks.
[edit] Got it working, was just my antivirus that was blocking it for some reason
It worked!!
Thanks alot man.
I have looking for a root to this device since i got it, and now its rooted
I got this working on win10 (and also working on win8/8.1), but what you have to do is disable "driver signature enforcement". Check this vid if you don´t know how (youtube.com/watch?v=PAxTCvRmlio)
Please make a video

Error while trying to root Be Touch 2
Hi,
After following http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-ulefone-touch-lollipop-t3132204 i get to the download part after selecting boot and recovery.
BDROM ERRPR : S_DL_GET_DRAM_SETTING_FAIL (5054)
[EMI] Obtain DRAM Failed!
[HINT] : Please check your load matches to your target which is to be downloaded.
And now the phone won't boot. It does detect when the battery is removed on com15, can I use any other tools to at least boot the phone?

4G LTE doesn't work
Hi, I have a problem from one day to another I can't connect to LTE. Any idea about the problem?
Please remove this stupid 10 post restriction. I got my 10 posts and it's still not allowing me to post in the main thread. Maybe it needs 11? Argh.
Pantech discover issues
I have a pantech discover unlocked running ICS 4.0.4 and m facing following issues:
The soft keys work only 5-10% of times and I have to use button savior app for using phone. Sometimes they work normally and most times they simply do not respond at all. Is it ROM related issue or hardware issue? I have already factory reset the phone without any positive outcome.
My phone always sticks to 4G network and consumes a lot of battery. In settings there is no option to choose 2G or 3G network. Usually most android phones have an option to choose between GSM, GSM/WCDMA, etc. This phone does not have any such option in Mobile networks. Is there anything that can be done.
I am running stock ics and tried running AT&T update, it displayed an 248 MB update and downloaded it. I chose to install the update and it booted to recovery and tried installing update but failed after some time and rebooted the phone. Would like to know if there is anything that can be done to update the phone to JB.
I was able to find only two threads on xda for getting phone rooted and only 1-2 ROMS that too stock. Does anybody have a specific link to download roms for it.
I was unable to find phone drivers for Windows, does anybody have a link to them.
How should I update the phone to JB:
1. Running on ICS -> Root -> Install CWM -> Install JB ROM from xda thread
2. Running on ICS -> Officially update to JB -> Root -> Revert to unlocked ICS bootloader -> Install CWM -> Install JB Rom from xda thread
Any help would be appreciated.
Not Unlocked with Unlocked Bootloader
Hi! i am new here but i have been having some success. my unlocked discover was locked by ATT when i did their 4.1.2 upgrade. Since then i have rooted my discover, i have installed the clockwork mod, i have installed the unlocked loader and the checksums match. Unfortunately when i put my T-Mobile sim back in, the phone is still network locked. Has anyone had a similar experience? Is there a fix available? If I can download the custom rom and get a matching checksum would flashing that fix things? Any help would be appreciated. Hopefully you can see that I am trying to do my part.

Update and stuck on at&t logo
So, after much thought I followed the method two i.e.
Running on ICS -> Officially update to JB -> Root -> Revert to unlocked ICS bootloader -> Install CWM -> Install JB Rom from xda thread
Unfortunately, as soon as I updated it to JB, the phone rebooted after update and since then it is stuck on at&t logo.
The JB update overwrote my cwm recovery, flashed the locked JB bootloader and unrooted phone as well.
I can enter stock recovery and fastboot but to no use as the bootloader is locked and phone is not rooted.
I have tried wipe data and cache without any positive outcomes.
I have worked out following possible solutions:
1. Install stock jellybean rom via adb sideload as this is an option in stock recovery
2. Flash stock rom using PDL download software update mode, however, I do not have software for flashing and nor stock rom.
Any kind of help will be deeply appreciated.
Anyone?
Any kind of replay will be deeply appreciated.
How come this phone does not have stock roms available??
Also, a pdl download software upgrade method not available???
Is there a link for a flashable JB rom link or JB update link from where I can download JB rom or update and flash it onto phone via adb sideload!!!
Kindly help as m in a fix and moving around without a phone. :crying:

i ve read this rom: cm-11-20141217-UNOFFICIAL-thor.zip on this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hdx/development/cm-11-20141216-unofficial-thor-t2974818
Cause my HDX have update automatically to FireOs 4.5.2 via wifi, then i have to wait for so long time, for any root version can apply for Fire OS 4.5.2, then use that rom, hopefully you guys can release that soon, thanks Cpasjuste, many thanks for your hardwork :good::good::good:
Dont try this ROM
Hi, I tried this ROM.
I am not on a late version of fire OS so I thought it would work - in actual fact I was on 13.3.2.4 with root access.
I now have a semi bricked kindle which just shows Amazon Kindle in white. As I have only owned the thing for a day this is somewhat gutting.
Any help anyone could offer would be appreciated.
I am getting a factory cable so will try to fix with that - if not a return is in order...
Avoid this mod like the plague...

With Safestrap from Zip.
What I am guessing happened is safestrap was launched from initial bootloader - overflashed bits it shouldnt have now initial bootloader doesnt like what it sees so no booting...
Any suggestions appreciated.
That's strange. I didn't used safestrap since a while so I'm not 100% sure what happened but you probably flashed the ROM on your STOCK slot which probably erased safestrap... (Like said before you shouldn't have used this ROM in first place and you shouldn't flash to stock ROM).
The problem now is to get adb working so you can restore something but I guess it won't be enabled for you since your device do not boot the flashed kernel. I'm not sure if it will be possible to use fastboot for flashing a signed kernel made by @vortox , this is maybe your only solution.

I'm fairly certain that the boot image didn't flash, it's just the system that's not booting. I was reading through the bootloader source today and it *seems* that if the signature is invalid on a flashed partition, then the device will boot into fastboot mode. Had the boot image actually flashed, he would get a picture for about 2 seconds then a reboot. It wouldn't just hang if this was a sfv (signature verification failure, I decided to abbreviate because it's hell to type out).

If I am not wrong:
Download the upload 13.3.1.0 update file from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2782159
Make a back-up of your data using Safestrap and copy it to your pc.
Flash one of the two backups files provided by ggow in http://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hdx/development/13-3-2-4-rollback-images-t2991015 depending on device. That would install a stock version with root enabled (if not u would need to do the whole root process)
Do a factory reset of your system
Copy the 13.3.1.0 downloaded before into the root and reboot to get the update installed.
Once the system is in 13.3.1.0 u would be able to install the TRWP and later the cm.
Maybe i am missing something, can anybody confirm?

I can reply to myself. cm-11-20150101-UNOFFICIAL-thor.zip installed and running
I was in 13.3.2.4 with Safestrap, OTA updates disabled, root....
My steps:
1-Back up your data using Safestrap and copy it to your personal computer.
2-Select Stock rom.
3-Flash one of the two backups files provided by ggow in http://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hdx/development/13-3-2-4-rollback-images-t2991015 depending on device (Thor in my case). That would install a stock version pointing to 13.3.0.9. In my case root was not found so I needed to use again [TOOL:FROZEN] Faznx's HDX ToolKit v0.95 to disable OTA and put root.
3-Put the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2782159 at root level. Reboot the device, that would help the system to recognize the update, sometimes it takes a while. Put also TRWP and the cyanogenmod, I put them into download folder, but it doesn't matter.
4-Update the system, it would require a reboot.
5-Once in 13.3.1.0, check OTA updates are disabled and root is enabled, using Faznx again.
6-With OTA updates disabled, switch on wifi and install a file manager.
7-Install Rashr, download it from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334554
8-Install TRWP image using Rashr.
9-Reboot on TRWP. Swip to factory reset and install the CM build.
10-Install CM Gapps for CM11.
I have found an issue with wifi, it required a reboot to get it working. Testing the other features right now.
I would like to use the google now launcher but CM doesn't detect the launcher as launcher. Maybe it is an issue of my device. Can someone try to set the google now launcher as default launcher?
At first, thanks a lot to all involved people to making a great device gets its full potential. Great work.
As it works fine for me so far, I was wondering if it is necessary to keep all the partitions, I got an emulateed ( legacy and 0) as well as two others. I suppose, these are two from the other rom slots I created. Im not sure if they take space at all?
Again, thanks for your effort and cheers.

No you don't need to delete them they are symlink used by the system and do not use space.

WiFi password needed to be re entered but its now remembered.
One question:
At top of Startup screen the following message appears that is not understood nor do I know how to address:
"KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit : kernel"
Whats it mean and what do I do?

In a nutshell, not the stock kernel/boot.img. causes any harm? No Any way you can remove it? No
A couple of harmless lines at boot, can live with that.
Thanks to your efforts, phone works fast and flawlessly.
Take care.
Update to FOG6
Updated from OB1 to FOG6 and used Trapkernel. Everything works except wi-fi calling. Can anyone verify and eventually provide a fix? Wi-fi calling shows disabled even when you turn it on.
Steps are:
1. Defrost any bloatware (especially Knox)
2. Reboot to download.
3. Flash G900TUVU1FOG6_G900TTMB1FOG6_G900TUVU1FOG6_HOME.tar .md5 in Odin and let phone restart normally.
4. Do all your settings (if you need) or at least verify the most important for you.
5. Copy G900T_FOG6_TrapKernel.zip to sd card.
6. Reboot to download and flash twrp-2.8.7.0-klte.img.tar in Odin, but uncheck Auto Restart
7. When done, pull battery then start in recovery mode
8. Do not allow twrp to install supersu. From twrp flash G900T_FOG6_TrapKernel.zip from sd card.
9. Restart phone and enjoy
If baseband does not update, in odin flash modem from http://d-h.st/gHL

Yeah use the correct version for your firmware. That's why there's 2 threads each with firmware version in the title
So I accidentally installed SU from TWRP, what should I do?, or am I ok and just continue installing it from the play store or TWRP? And also the private mode doesn't work anymore :/ should I restore from the backup I made in TWRP? and restart.
Hi, I recently flashed my phone and rooted it under the FOF6 kernel but now I'm getting a message to update to FOG6 and was wondering what are the steps do I need to take to do this? Hi all!
I'm new here, so please instruct me if I'm doing anything wrong.
I have a Coolpad Y82-820. It's a Chinese phone, I think.
I'm in the process of getting it rooted. ---- Was rooted before, but an update on their side (to CoolUI V24. [phone model#]. 160407) removed the root and now makes it a bit difficult to root at the moment, though I'm sure it will be done eventually. For those who have this phone, I'd suggest not to update, as this update deletes any rooting applications installed on reboot/restart.
Once rooted, I don't really mind waiting, I would like to put a Custom Rom on this phone, but not sure what options are available. I see posts about the Coolpad Note/Dazen/Shine/Rogues etc. Though nothing about this one, though spec wise it's not too far off from the others.
I'd be grateful if anyone could help with confirmations, information, on how to select a correct custom rom for this device and the steps to do. Also if there's any info on how to root this current version, even better.
Thanks!

Any help possible?
Rooting maybe? Even possibly downgrading would be an option.

Gave it a shot. Failed, as well. I've tried most of the popular rooting apps. King Root, Kingo, One click, and so on as well as a few Chinese rooting apps, as well. They've all failed.
The previous version was rooted with King Root though.

In that case you have to root your phone manually by unlocking bootloader. But as a Chinese phone don't need to unlock bootloader. But you need to have a recovery that can install flashable zip. Most of this phone have built in recovery. You can go to recovery by turning off your phone and press power+volume down button. Then see if there's any option to install zip.

There is an option there to install zip files. Though I do not know the process well of doing so. Most zips I have tried have failed. I did install GMS several days ago using the install zip method. Not certain if that was a good idea though...
If I can find a flashable zip then I wouldn't mind giving it a try. I've restored this phone countless times hoping to go back to factory firmware, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It seems to go back to the most recent updated OTA which makes it unable to root with regular apps at the moment.
Not sure what the closest phone model for this phone would be. If you have ideas I'm willing to give them a shot an report back in with any findings.

I got an error:
正在查找更新包
正在打开更新包
正在验证更新包
E : failed to verify whole-file signature
E : signature verification failed 安装失败
我会汉语一点儿,所以这个汉字我都明白了,如果你有问题我可以试一试告诉你。 My Chinese isn't too bad, so if there's something you don't understand let me know.
Letting you know the steps I did, just in case I did it wrong.
- Downloaded the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
- Placed it on the phone internal memory (recovery only recognizes internal)
- Powered off
- Went into recovery mode
- Then tried installing the file.
Then the mentioned error.
Should I have restored the phone to the most recent OTA, cleared cache, data, first etc?

Also failed.
I guess it's too difficult to root this new version/update. If only I could downgrade then it might be possible to root.

You can upgrade or downgrade your android version without rooting but it has to be official firmware. If you want to flash custom rom you'll need custom recovery installed and unlocked bootloader.

I think you didn't get what I said. You are already using updated android version. You can't update more if your service provider don't give anymore updates. And I also searched very hard to find official firmware for your device but unluckily your phone have very less information in web.So there's no one haven't uploaded any firmware or no discussion available for your device. You can though upgrade your device using custom rom but you need to have root and custom recovery .without root you can't install custom recovery.

Hahh... So after combing through various Chinese sites and using my limited knowledge of Chinese, I've got a ROM (previous version before there update), got the appropriate flashing software (CoolPad Download Assistant) and have successfully flashed it after disassembling the phone to get into fastboot.
Good news:
I am Rooted... again. With KingRoot.
Bad news:
The CoolPad has there update in the background. Found where it's stored and deleted. The Phone re-downloads the update.
A restart will probably update this phone making it un-rootable again.
Edit: Deleting the update file before immediately restarting gives an error in the update on restart, so I guess that's a good thing.
For now, I will just operate for now without turning the phone off. Though I do have the necessary files if I have to flash it again.
Rooting is the first requirement you mentioned... what do I need to do next? Download what? Compatible ROM's etc?

If you have no interest in custom rom and now you can root your device then you don't need to do anything right now.And you are saying new update automatically downloading, just in download setting select "do not auto download"or"update via wifi only"this will prevent from auto downloading update.

Not sure if there's any custom rom available for your phone You can somehow install custom twrp recovery but the main problem is custom rom availability. But I would suggest you to use xposed instead installing custom ROM.You can customize and control your device using xposed installer.

Installed Xposed Installer, but the Download section is empty.
I am in China currently, so a lot of things may be blocked. A VPN should fix this, I believe.
What things I should install. Xposed Installer is new to me.
Hey guys, so for a while I've had an S4 (I9505) and my YouTube subs/viewers want to see custom ROMS on it. So I used Kingoroot to try and get root access and it seemed to work (used terminal sim to check) and then I connected the phone to PC, put it in download mode and launched Odin to flash a new ROM (it was on 4.4 stock with no OTA update available to 5.0 for some reason?). Anyway long story short I got my settings so that it would delete all data before flashing. I go to flash and it fails early on due to the fact it can't write (or something along those lines). And I need help :c
Write protection is on and I have no ROM to boot into, nor a custom recovery. So I really need your guys' help :c
Please help me get it on some kind of working ROM :C
(rewards are awesome points and shoutout on 5.6k sub phone channel?)

I believe that is the google play edition... TWRP can be found here.
https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxys4googleedition.html
Also stock firmware can be found here to flash with Odin to get you going.
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s4/GT-I9505/
Flash the stock firmware first and then flash the TWRP and make a backup.
