After downgrading from Android 5.1 (due to the overheating and battery drain issues) to Android 4.4 for HTC One (M8), I tried flashing the TWRP recovery (twrp-2.7.0.2-m8) and when I boot into the bootloader and select RECOVERY from the list, it just simply loads a black screen with a white Google logo. It just stays like this. One build of TWRP worked, but it was glitchy and there was no button to start mounting over USB.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
What hboot? Some TWRP builds don't play well with outdated hboots.

Ok long story short i'm confused as to what's up with this device. I just picked it up and started messing with it. Looks like it has mako bootloader unlock and cwm 6x recovery installed. The only roms it can flash is cm12.1 and the factory ATT images correctly. I tried to update to the newer version of CWM or TWRP via fastboot and the flash takes but no recovery is present. Things i've tried =
Full factory reset via LGE970AT-01-V20j-310-410-MAR-08-2013 (this leaves me with no bootloader/fastboot/recovery) It boots but black screen on bootanimation.
tinybin (both options) only the altern will boot but. (have fastboot but no recovery.)
So long story... In stock firmware I can install freegee and unlock via mako but there will be no recovery if I choose TWRP and CWM won't install anything bt CM... I'm attempting to install Blisspop btw.
Any help would be great. Thank you
Hi
I hope someone can help me with this.
I have updated my P8 from B200 Lollipop to B317 Marshmallow. Update completed with come errors in stock recovery but phone seems to be in perfect order and fully updated to the latest build.
Now my problem is I've lost the root access. I was expecting this to happen after the update but now I can't re-root it.
In fastboot, I can flash twrp 2.8.7.0 and twrp 2.8.7.0 no problem. It all seems ok in fastboot window, however after recovery is flashed I'm trying to access it from bootloader holding power + volume up.
Unfortunately, at first phone was in bootloop and after a few loops was starting normally, and recovery was back to stock. Now after another few ties of flashing twrp recoveries and trying to access it it goes straight to stock recovery, like custom was never installed. Does not even give me bootloop anymore.
I have tried to press and hold both volume buttons but with similar result.
Recovery is not important to me as long as I have get my phone rooted but it seems like there is no other way to push SuperSU to the system without the custom recovery.
KingRoot app worked with Lollipop byt it fails now.
Booting to recovery without installing it also dees not work from fastboot.
Does anyone have an idea how to root this B317 or have tried the roll back to B200 with success ?
same
I'm in the same situation.
What is the solution?
OK. The nu twrp is the solution

So I've recently started modding my htc one m8 and I suddenly can't access twrp recovery. I choose recovery from the bootloader menu, it shows the loading screen with the teamwin logo, then the screen goes black and reboots normally. I have an unlocked bootloader, the crdroid nougat rom installed and I have magisk installed as well. I've tried flashing twrp again with no luck. Any tips?
edit: nvm it was out of battery
Hi,
I have a Sony Xperia Z2 Wifi tablet (SGP511). It currently has the outdated Cyanogenmod 12.1-20160807 (castor_windy). Because it has a lot of software issues, I decided to switch to a more recent ROM (since CM is discontinued). When I tried to access the CWM recovery I had before, I only got the Cyanogen recovery that came with the CM (where it is impossible to flash anything else but CM updates). So I decided to flash the recovery again using bootloader. The flash was done, but caused a startup loop. The sony logo is displayed and the device swiches off and on again, no matter if I leave it or try to access recovery. It seems that it is bricked, but I figured that by continuously pressing the red button besides the SD hole I can still force it to boot into the CM that is installed. So now I can boot into the old CM, and access bootloader by rebooting it via adb. What should I flash to gain back access to recovery?
Nevermind, I fixed it. By accessing the bootloader by ressetting the tablet using adb command I was able to flash the dual recovery from [NUT] . It worked, so I was able to flash the new AICP ROM from it.
Hi,
Firstly, sorry for the lack of references in my post, as this is my first one, I'm not allowed to add URLs.
I recently purchased a Blackview BV9500 Plus and I have been trying to flash TWRP, I wanted to try different custom ROMs since the stock ROM for BV9500 PLus is apparently no longer updated (info comes from a Blackview forum).
The TWRP version that I'm trying to flash is 3.3.1 for BV9500 Plus (unofficial).
I have tried different ways, using fastboot flash recovery, using SPFlashTool and flash directly the recovery file, and it looks like the flashing succeeded but I have never been able to boot into TWRP. When I turn on the phone pression the Volume UP key, I see the Blackview logo (which sometimes appears color inverted black <-> white) and then nothing happens, it goes back to rebooting until I let go of the Volum UP key, then it starts normally. I even tried with a different TWRP version (3.2.3 for Android 9.0 Pie MT6771, unofficial) with same results ...
I unlocked the bootloader (ticked it in the phone settings) and did a fastboot flashing unlock, I tried rooted (with last version of Magisk with which I patched the boot.img and flashed), not rooted ... with no luck ... (I even lost my IMEI after a complete format with SPFlash along with the googlekey, fortunately I was able to reflash everything thanks to BV support :victory
Many thanks in advance for your help, I have been trying to figure this all out for a few days now ...
Best regards.
