Hey all.
I think this might be a general problem with Android, but before someone scolds me for posting in the wrong place, I'm trying it here first.
I own two SIM cards... one I use regularly, the other that I only use to go online. I use APNdroid (well, actually Elixir, but the method of operation is the same) to prevent my usual and expensive SIM card from connecting to the internet. However, when swapping one SIM card for the other, the phone goes online either way.
- SIM1 is in the phone, APNdroid has data disabled
- I turn off the phone, insert SIM2
- After using SIM2, I switch back to SIM1
- When the phone has started up, SIM1 goes online immediately, despite the APN setting having been wrong before using SIM2.
Is there any way I can stop this from happening? Going online with SIM1 costs me a fortune and going into settings to disable data through Android is quite tedious.
Cheers
Hello guys,
See attached screenshot and tell me how to remove marked sign from sim2 signal bar
I changed data from sim1 to sim2 & then swap again and after that this sign comes.
I tried my best but cant.
Please help.
You cannot remove that. "X" shows up when mobile data is disabled in nougat.
However you could set default data to sim 1 and turn on sim 2 data.
Having issues with this app - anyone else got it working?
It seems to disable the ability to call out on SIM 1 and only way i have found to renenable it is a hard reset (it says 'radio off' when using it).
I find this app essential to use dual SIM phones with android auto.
Hi,
Am having the same problem.
Dual SIM Selector didn't work properly untill I disabled automatic energy management for this app in the battery section of the phone's settings menu (together with either of the two SIM cards selected for calls in the phone's dual SIM menu). It worked well after this.
Then (don't know if this is in any way related) Google Assistant (G Apps?) started asking questions about which SIM to use for data, calls and sms-messages. I tried to ignore it for a little while, but it kept popping
up. So eventually I figured I answer questions, get it over with, event though these settings were already set in the phone's settings menu. And so I choose to set all the settings in accordance to how the were in the phone's settings menu: use SIM 1 for data, calls and sms-messages.
Since then, I can use SIM 2 for incoming calls, but not for outgoing calls. During automatic selection (beit when Dual SIM Selector knows which SIM to use, or when Dual SIM Selector needs to ask me) the app shows SIM 2 is being used, but it turns out SIM 1 is dialing. Have tried different settings in the settings menu, as well as in Dual SIM Selector. Keeps on using SIM 1. Even when I set the menu to choose which SIM card to use at each call: I get the option to choose for SIM 2, but it uses SIM 1 no matter which SIM I pick.
And when I disable SIM 1, and set all phone and/or app settings to use SIM 2, my phone tells me "radio off" and stops dialing. It really feels to me some app (G Apps?) is overriding my phone and/or app settings after a one time configuration.
Do you recognize any interference of Google apps?
Have you been able to fix the issue, or found alternatives/workarounds?
I have same issue.
Somehow I resolved it by manual carrier selection, but it came back when i rebooted my device.
Did anyone elese had same issue?

I reached out to the developer to report the issue as the app is clearly doing something to disable outgoing calls on the non default sim. Not had a response sadly.

Default SIM for text Message in Huawei Mate 20 Pro
Hi, is there anyone know how to set Preferred SIM for text Messages in Huawei Mate 20 Pro?
because i have tried to find it in Dual SIM settings, but no luck yet,
thanks and ur help is very much appreciated
So, when I first put my SIM in, my phone restarted and I got some texts informing me of settings in a configuration menu to install, and when I did almost everything worked perfectly fine. Upon one of the things acting strange, i reset my networking settings and input the specified APN settings for my carrier (Ting), but then MMS wont work and when I get calls it goes straight to voicemail. By default under "Access Points", it has a "Ting Data" option which can't be changed, but has incorrect APN settings according to the ting website, so I make a second one and select it instead.
Anyhow, I want the original configuration install options to reappear like when I first installed my sim but I cannot find anything about them or find any configuration menu. They did add new APN settings in there when I did it and MMS did work at the time and I did get calls. I've already removed my sim, and placed it back in with no luck, restarted phone, soft reset phone, reset Access Points to default, and reset network settings via the Reset menu, and no luck.
Is there a dial code I can enter to find this APN install menu? or get it to do a full network reset as if I put my SIM in for the first time WITHOUT a full factory reset.
Edit: Got it working somewhat. It says I have LTE connection, but only wants to work on and off. Any ideas of how to fix this?
I have dual sim phone - SIM1 personal with calls/data and SIM2 for work with calls/data. The phone forces me to define one of the two SIM cards as default for data (aka browse the web). The problem is that if I define SIM1 as default data card, if I receive or make a call from SIM1 I can browse the web using data during the call, but if I make or receive a call with SIM2, during the call I can't browse the web (because it is dual standby). In settings menu I tried to change the default data SIM card during the call to SIM2 to continue browsing the web during the call with SIM2, but the phone tells me that" Can't change the default data card during the call". The problem is the same if I define the default data card to SIM2, so during a call with SIM1 I can't browse the web. So, resuming, the annoying thing is that I have a dual SIM phone and I have 2 SIM card both with calls and data plan, the phone forces me to define one of them as default to data, but during a call with the SIM that is not defined as default data card I can't use the web. If at least I could change, in settings menu, the default data SIM during the call it will solve my problem but the phone doesn't allow me to do that during the call. This is ridiculous!! The only chance is, if I need to access the internet during the call, to say "I will shut down this call to swipe my default SIM card to access the internet so I can talk to you while I can browse the web and read the email that you are refering to and call you again", this all in 2019, simply ridiculous.
Anyone can help me? I tried in some phones of some of my friends and it always happens the same (I tried in Asus Zenfone 3, Samsung S9, Xiaomi Mi9T). Please if anyone can help me because this behaviour makes no sense and makes dual sim completely useless nowadays.
