Hi,
I have a strange use case for Kodi / XBMC - I want to use it as a media player but dont want the home menu UI to appear. I would rather have the home launcher show up. I launch videos remotely to Kodi.
I have root access to the device and I tried this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2057372 but the Home.xml is embedded the the libxbmc.so
Any ideas would be appreciated!

Hi,
Im developing an android application that plays video using the native android player on a Set top box.
The application works fine but I have 1 strange issue with the control over the video player.
If I would like for example to navigate within the video to another time I would like to load the bottom navigation bar(that shows me the time of the video and be able to move forward/backwards or slide to a different time inside the video).
In my remote control(image attached) I need to click on the Zoom-in button in order for that to load.
This is very strange.
Is there a way to change it so the OK button or the movement buttons will pop the navigation bar?
Thanks in advance for any help
I have a surround system from onkyo at home. It can be controlled by the app onkyo remote. It has support for multiple zones. So i now want to install an android tablet in the bathroom and control the receiver with it. In the app i can select the what zone i want to play the music to and also what music source i want to play. So here i want to select badroom and internet radio , with the radiostation i want. I want to know if it is possilbe one way or another to atomate this process. My idea is to have an icon on the home screen, so when i puch it , it opens the app with the settings i like. I need this because it needs to be easy to use for my girlfiend , so that she only had to wake the tablet and puch the icon on the home screeen.
is this feature stock on the galaxy view? i don't have the icon in my notification / quick settings pull down menu, nor does it appear if i select edit to show the available icons... further, does the galaxy view actually have a mirroring app that allows you to cast your tablet to your tv, that mirrors exactly what you see on your tablet, as opposed to just being able to cast when in certain apps, such as video player?
i'm using chromecast ultra and once the google home app has been installed on the galaxy view, casting to a tv works fine, however there are like 6 steps (clicks) you have to go through in order to finally get to "cast screen / audio".
what i'm ultimately trying to accomplish is cast my galaxy view to my tv with as few steps as possibly, 2 clicks at the most, am i dreaming?
Hello,
I've been using Nova Launcher and Button Mapper for years and it comes with one handy feature which is Activity launcher. I am able to create shortcuts to any hidden app/settings and sometimes I can even make shortcut within app depending on which activities that app has.
Does anyone knows is it possible to create custom shortcut activities on Android 9 and Android TV 9?
Let's make few examples if you don't understand what I mean: Shortcut that directly opens YouTube subscriptions/watch later, Shortcut that directly opens HBO GO favorites, Shortcut that directly opens "Downloads" in any file manager etc.
Some apps already have those activities and it's pretty cool to make shortcuts with them on my Android TV Box remote control, while some apps don't have those activities at all except main one.
There is one more example, I use one app called EON TV and in order to go to "Favorites" I need to click over 8 times through UI to see Favorites list. Can I just somehow make custom activity that leads to favorites and map it with Button Mapper on my remote?
Thanks!
Hi,
Youtube on my Lenovo yoga tab 11 does not have any action assigned to swipe from the bottom, just does not do anithing. while on my android phones, and even on Chromecast I get a list of related videos when I swipe from the bottom (press down on Chromecast, scroll down on windows while full screen)
Is that an option that I should enable, or are there different versions of Youtube?
Thanks,
Daniel
