You can download a FTF and exclude all but Kernel when flashing.

Exactly. You can flash only stock kernel via official ftf.

Hi All,
sorry if this has been asked before,
but I don't have any experience with Sony Experia before.
I have the device Experia Neo L (mt25i)
it already install with turbo kernel( support multi boot)
and a rom in mmc
i would like to go back to the original sony ericson stock rom & kernel.
I've read up and has download the flash tool from http://www.flashtool.net/download.php
but i haven't found the stock rom & kernel, appreciate if you can point out the original rom & kernel.
also i noticed that in Experia model you have unlock bootloader etc.
what is the process do i have to go to return this device to original stock rom ?
Thank you

I don't think there's a kernel repository yet, but it's pretty important so when I get some time I'll set one up unless someone beats me to it.
Check in original android development section, @krabappel2548 has done a 523 dual recovery kernel, not sure about 290 though.

Yeah. Just flash 4.4.2 via flashtool. Everything is included in the ftf file.

Just download a prerooted .zip and flash that. Way easier.

How to root & recovery stock d6502 .291 ?
Go back to 4.4.2 and root + install recovery, then flash prerooted (include recovery) .291
- Flash stock 4.4.4 or 5.1.1
- Root (KingRoot)
- Install recovery (Z2-lockeddualrecovery)
- Flash prerooted rom 291
i want root without downgrade ?

Yes works perfectly.:good:
I too updated through ota recently ..
and ..
You don't need ftf.
Just download those three files.
What I did for my D6502 was :
I put the .291 into card and start!
>>Flashed the .575.ftf through flashtool
>>used that recovery tool provided
>>again flashed the .291 through recovery
Nothing changed all I get was root and I'm happy!!
Thanks for all i rooted my phone

I'm a newbie and haven't rooted any phones yet. could you please tell when to install TWRP in simple words?
You need not unlock your bootloader.
1. You need to root your phone with appropriate tools taking consideration to your firmware version.
2.Then you can install twrp. It's easy as just double clicking the installation files.
PS: I hope you are already rooted!
