Nope sure why it would bootloop since it is pretty much stock kernel with a few things add like more governors and some performance tweaks. Get a adb logcat for me.

I can confirm bootloops on Pacman and Temasek. How do I provide you with a logcat? The bootloop typically happens after it goes through the "Android is upgrading" bit.

What TWRP version? What steps did you take to flash the kernel? I didn't get a android is updating boot up on BrokenOS. You need ADB installed. XDA has several tutorials on setting adb up. After adb is set up use the first and third adb commands at boot to get the logs. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1520508

TWRP 2633
1st flash: On established Temasek - Wipe Caches, then flash.
2nd: PAC - Fresh ROM install, reboot into recovery, flash (no wiping).
3rd: PAC - Flashed again, Fix Permissions.
4th: Complete wipe, install Temasek, install GAPPs, install kernel. With this method, I got to a lock screen but rebooted shortly after.
I just broke my computer tonight (PSU or GPU...I overclocked the heck out of the poor thing...it was only a matter of time before it died) literally MINUTES after finishing the main quest line of Skyrim after hundreds of hours of goofing around ;-p
If I get my computer running, I'll try to get those for ya! Thanks again!

Try this on either temasek or PAC. Clean flash, wipe everything but internal and external storage, the ROM and gapps, don't fix permission, get the ROM set to your liking then use flashify to flash the zip don't wipe anything just flash the zip.
Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk
So, I wiped Cache + Dalvik, System, Data. Installed PAC + GAPPs, I rebooted, installed Flashify and flashed the kernel without wiping anything.
Once the tablet rebooted, it did the normal "Android is starting... Optimizing apps 1-80 something" at which point it reboots once it completes optimizing everything. It'll continue in this loop indefinitely.
Just for kicks, after 6 reboots, I then tried fixing permissions and wiping caches but to no avail. Hopefully someone with a working computer can help with the logcats!

Hmm. I will be interest in the logs for sure. Is PAC AOSP based or cm based? It shouldn't matter but it is good to know.

Just to let you know, I've been running BrokenOS and it's amazing! It think I'd gonna be my daily driver for quite a while. I've got the kernel tweaked and now it's absolutely flying and still getting great battery. My only requests would be Westwood TCP, Fiops scheduler, and undervolt control and I would be ecstatic! Great ROM and kernel my good man!

Could you please provide the link for brokenOS ?
i am trying to use that kernel with temasek rom but bootloop
thanks
If you click on the kernel link, go up one directory and then you're there! It's under "lt03wifi."
Had nothing better to do this afternoon so figured I'd flash temasek and this kernel to get a log of the bootloop people are having. See attached

My unofficial builds of PSX/CARBON, plus various kernels as well as my own kernel which are in the second post.
I take no credit for PSX, Carbon or any kernel that I build from the Nexus 4.
1/4/2014 UPDATE: I have built the ROMs using slims kernel with some slight modifications. So the kernel built in should be stable. Fixed DSP issue with Carbon also added MotoX dalvik patch to Carbon.
PSX
Unofficial PSX 4.4.2 built from source
If you don't know what PSX is, check this thread out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532676
PSX is no longer being officially released (Nexus 4 forum drove them away from XDA) , but they are still developing the ROM. So here it is, enjoy.
By flashing this you are accepting all responsibility. Your warranty is now VOID! If your phone spontaneously burst into flames, or it fails you in the middle of the desert and you die of thirst.... it's not my problem.
I take no credit for this, I just built it.
PSX 4.4.2 geeb 1/4/2014:
GEEB
Installation instructions.
Flash TWRP by brothaedhung (for geeb model only)
Create a backup
Wipe/factory reset
Flash ROM: If it fails to flash, reboot recovery (DO NOT FLASH SUPERSU if it asks) and flash again. Should work....
(optional) FLASH AK KERNEL from 2nd post if you like.
wipe cache/dalvik if you flashed AK kernel
Flash GAPPS 4.4.2
Flash SuperSU

Carbon
Unofficial Carbon 4.4.2 built from source
Carbon I believe has not officially released a 4.4.x ROM yet, so it's still a WIP. So some features may be missing ect. Though as of now it does have a good amount of features. I'll try to update it every few days when CarbonDev makes some major changes/additions.

Kernels - More kernels to come
AK Kernel, developed by AK, and brought over to geeb by me. I take no credit for the development of this kernel.
Information and features of AK kernel can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2473454
By flashing this you accept all responsibility. XDA, the original dev of the kernel and myself are not responsible for anything that may happen to your phone. Especially if you overclock....
AK Kernel: 1/4/2014
Kernel is attacked below...
This version will only work on AOSP based roms... So a CM based ROM will just bootloop if you use this kernel. I will make a CM version as the original dev does have one. Will just take me some time. No ETA
Installation:
Flash kernel
wipe cache/dalvik
boot
reboot

If it's the one I built.... sure. Just be aware if anything goes wrong, it's probably because of that. :highfive:
Also, to those non-geeb users: I'll add the updates for geehrc/geespr sometime later tonight or tomorrow on the thread where I have all the other devices for PSX as well.

And one more thing i have an issue, sometimes it automatically clicks on the screen or while typing it keeps on typing the random words without touching the screen to stop it i lock the screen and again unlock it, this bug was there in previous psx and even present in this latest psx version... I never had this on 4.3 roms

Hi, Thanks for this!!
I had flashed the 11/29 version, but it showed my 64 gb exfat card as corrupt and asks to format it??
Any way to fix it, or has it been fixed?
Nice job getting it built

Also for everyone, you can find kernel updates here: http://ribs.bbqdroid.org/smoocha/?
This makes it easier on me as I don't have to re-build every time there is a kernel change. The latest kernel for geeb is updated from the kernel I have in my current build. Thanks @chadouming for all the hard work he does on the kernel and device sources.

That's the mp-decision doing it's work (it's not the standard stock mp-decision it's a modified one)..... don't worry about it as the minimum speed is and will drop below that.
Watch the live cpu stats and you can verify that it is indeed going to minimum (384) idle freq.
This ROM is fast and has all the right features without all the extras. Keep this coming thank you and if you need test I'm in.

PSX removed the AOSP camera..... flash the camera found in the gapps link.
Active Display causes a System UI crash on 12/02 for me.
I saw something was changed in relation To active display, What was changed?
The reason I post my ROM here is because I'm soon starting with a new rom, broodROM KitKat which will also be available for the Note 3, So I figured why not test it on my current AOSP ROM (to see if there is any trouble on compiling, but no!). This AOSP is based on the real Google AOSP, no real further modifications (only thing is that it includes DeviceSettings from the S4 currently), and AppOps is exposed. that's all.
It includes the stock CM11 kernel (which is kinda crappy). but I don't have the device so cannot make decent kernel myself without testing. Also the ROM is 100% untested. but it compiled without any error with my sources (www.github.com/AOSP-S4-KK) so I think it's alright.
Working List
- You tell me I have no idea :silly:
Download Alpha 1
www.broodplank.net/files/AOSP-442-N9005-Alpha-1.zip
on alpha 01 you need to flash a custom kernel
SEND ME LOGCAT! BECAUSE CURRENTLY IT SEEM TO BOOTLOOP
The device name is listed as hlte in settings / build.prop, don't worry this is actually hltexx
Download Gapps Lite + SuperSU (yes it's not rooted by default, I recommend installing this package)

Code:

Lol what the hell, that's almost impossible that my rom triggered download mode XD.
But it could be true, I have no clue since I do not have the device. what you could try is using the boot.img & /system/lib/modules from CM11 nightly.
btw, just downloaded CM11 and noticed there are NO modules in the kernel of hltexx. this means the kernel I added will not boot most likely.
So please install this zip after installing the rom:

Ah I dropped the herp a derp then hahah, Nah reason I thought that was because of the CM kernel used to boot it up. Thanks for correcting :good:

@gianton it'll boot into splash screen with temasek's kernel, if you wanna try and grab an ADB Logcat? - I'm having issues getting one :crying:
Sorry for not providing a good kernel, the thing is I cannot compile it decently with the ROM. it says I have to add module support and recontinue, thing is, the note 3 does not use it. but my build forces it.. Anyone have experience on CM with compiling the kernel? (the kernel is from CM after all)
You could try temasek or Yank555 or wootever for help with kernels as they're pretty decent at them - civato knows his stuff also, however I believe he has only worked with Stock samsung kernels and not CM stuff.
Still cannot get ADB logcat, phone won't recognise in PC
Introduction
I'm not really into writing long elaborate OP posts, so here it goes. This is an AOSP compiled, flashable ROM. This ROM is fast and smooth, it is not bloated with useless features. Lustrous ROM has features being added that make it even more useful. You need the 4.04 bootloader! I put a lot of work and love into this rom, if you like it show me some support by donating!

is it only working as primary via multiRom recovery?
I installed it as secondary and it failed to boot.
Google+ still missing for me here
Just finished booting.
Root is no-go for me (says binaries not installed despite having installed supersu zip).
Gonna see if I can tinker around with it to make it work, but for now no root for me.

That is an affirmative.
Also after you install it as primary, you'll need to install a kexec kernel to be able to boot to your other (now secondary) rom.
ElementalX 3.00 should work fine for that.

root does not work
on this core
I flashed my deb to stock 4.4.4, installed twrp, followed all instructions in op, and I cannot root. Thus I second another user's experience with root not working/SuperSU saying there are no binaries installed. I did install the supersu zip in twrp.
Also can't install Google+ neither from Market nor APK.
Fixed by flashing newer gapps package found here.

Hmmm you shouldn't have lost your recovery.... I should have turned that off. Let me look. Also you still rock a Galaxy Nexus? Respect.

What gapps did you flash?

I flashed my deb to stock 4.4.4, installed twrp, followed all instructions in op, and I cannot root. Thus I second another user's experience with root not working/SuperSU saying there are no binaries installed. I did install the supersu zip in twrp.

I'll look into root right now. I might have missed something in the bootloader
Good morning everyone! I'm awake and ready to smash bugs!
I have been working on grouper recently and I felt that there was a certain lack of a stock based kernel with only useful stuff and not custom features. There might be some users like me who haven't been able to customize their tablets much because of schedule and lego kernel hasn't been updated much recently. So I have made a kernel for Lollipop with only required stuff.
Some points to note(they can't be called features)-
Compiled using latest Linraro 4.9 optimized for Cortex A9
Kexec support
All-F2FS support
GPU overclock(franco's method)
Optimized ARM RWSEM algorithm
Entropy tweaks
Agnostic kernel flasher
SuperSU compatible
Download- http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=6701#downloads for boot.img
and http://d-h.st/2bYP for agnostic kernel flasher zip
Note- boot.img is only for All-F2FS partition users while zip can be used for all partition types(ext4, data-F2FS, all-F2FS).

nice!...will check it out and report back....

**wow, just installed latest Lollipop image (LRX21P) after converting to ALL-F2FS and it boots just fine!...
Im impressed with Lollipop setup!
Awesome, I'm gonna give this a try!
For GPU overclock is it set higher already or do I need an external app or additional files to affect it?
Sweet, now all i need is some advanced power button options and my tablet is set :3

What steps did you follow? I tried the same and got stuck at boot.
Which root way did you follow? Chainfire or permissive?
I am running rooted factory image on ext4. I flashed the zip, got positive feedback of the boot.img installing, rebooted, saw one app optimizing on boot. But when I go to settings.device the kernel still reports the stock name and in trickster I see the same with no evidence of any new gpu customizability. Thanks.

I didnt do anything differently when I convert a ROM to ALL-F2FS..I know it takes a good 5 mins once it hits the swirling balls....

I am also wondering, how did you convert a Lollipop ROM to All-F2FS? With the 'Convert To F2FS' App from the Play Store? Does it work with 5.0?
Or is all i need flashing a Lollipop ROM on my F2FS device and then this kernel and it will boot?
also can i use this kernel on tilapia? I know i can't use grouper ROMs but never bothered with Kernels until now.

Actually if you flash a grouper version of twrp you can use grouper ROMs on a tilapia. You just lose 3g.

That's weird, might be some issue in agnostic flasher. Anybody else can confirm?

Care to share that zip and the steps you took to achieve f2fs?
Just for fun, I compiled an optimized version of stock kernel for Marshmallow 6.0
It works with stock ROM for Moto X Pure XT1575, not tested with anything else.
Current features:
Compiled with O3
Uber toolchain
misc gcc optimization flags
KCAL
TCP congestions

Its not a flashable zip. You need to extract it before flashing. Flash as an image file in TWRP and select boot
^^^ yes, and/or try using flashify or rashr after unzipping
I have the traditional root using rooted boot and super SU in system. Is this boot.img pre rooted?

the boot.img does not control root. The only thing that would effect this for would maybe be the SR build as that hooks into the kernal. traditional dosent hook into the kernal. He is reverting to traditional soon.

If the boot partition isn't flashed as rooted you will bootloop if superSU is installed. When I first took OTA I had to flash a rooted boot.img to get root without bootlooping. I can remember off hand who created the image, but this is why I ask.

Did you wipe dalvik/cache?if it truly didn't work on the xt1572 either WiFi or RIL would be broken.
yes, wiped cache and dalvik but no luck, wifi and ril seems to be broken but i don't know for certain because phone was unusable
