The greenify app doesn't even show up in the app analyzer.
How are you going to then greenify "greenify"
:silly:

If your device is still alive, do tell us what happened.
most likely he is offline since then, so it seems that something unexpected happened ^^
I tried. But I couldn't do it. You can't greenify greenify.

Technically if you would greenify Greenify, then it won't be able to greenify other apps after greenifying itself. Solution would be launching Greenify and removing itself from the list of greenifyable apps.
I'm pretty sure everyone knows that and the question was kind of a joke

probably and advertisement that came from an app you downloaded. I hate those..
Find the app that is doing it, rate it 1 star then uninstall and find a better similar app where the developers aren't douchebags.
Having same problem. How do i find the app thats responsible?
I wouldn't know.. if it only happened recently and you installed apps recently I would start with those..
Maybe read comments on the apps you downloaded, many people will complain about it.
All the big apps are likely safe to assume they're not the one doing it. It's usually smaller apps, less known games that do it to bring in more money.
EDIT:
Actually I take that back. There is an app to see which apps are pushing those annoying advertisements:

You need Ad push detector, it's available free from the market.
I had same problem, for me it was a an ics theme for launcher go. I removed it and found alternative, now all is good no more crappy star notification.

I had the same issue and downloaded Addons Detector. I scanned for Push Notifications...and nuked the app responsible.
Google really shouldn't allow such crap into the market though. It takes away from the integrity of the app market.
Tnx guys, it was Live 3D wallpaper...

Thanks for the tip on the app, downloaded it and found the app, It was a Battery Calibration app that had many people who had rated it as an air push app. What a pain in the ass those things are, they should be illegal. I have a rooted phone with adfree downloaded and it still came thru. Not any more, didn't need that damn app anyways.
Thanks again,
Vinny

Arrgghh,
Couldn't get my Wiimote working with it, oh well, thanks anyways Boosted!
Edit: Also noticed this apk installed an app called "ad plus" that sent ads to my notifications......uninstalled. That could also be a reason it was yanked.

Thanks b00sted, this is straight gangster haha haven't received any ads in my notifications though as of yet.

Yup, that's the reason Eset gave me too, before it moved the app into quarantine, pity it could have been good to relive old memories!!
You could of course disable your AV while you download this, (always remembering to activate it again afterwards), install the app and then install "Airblocker" from the market, click "Detect Airpush" then block the ads.
If you wanna risk it.

The team that made this application works for Google. Worked fine for me on JB. I turned off the notifications and didn't see any battery drain.
I'm only stating my experience.

For the last few days I'm getting those weird stars in the status bar, and when I click on it, it's trying install something.
WTF is it?! Virus or some other $#it?
Thanks for the help,

These a ads which come bundled with some free apps and also on apps you install from third parties like Blackmart so if you installed an app recently that is probably causing the issue.

Long press the notification, then hit app info. It should tell you the app that's causing the annoying ads. If you want to keep the app, then hit uncheck the "show notifications".
