Hello,
I teach an Android app development class. We have purchased ten Nexus 7 tablets for the class, so our students can test their apps on the devices.
The issue I am having is restricting the user's ability when they have the device. We have the devices attached to a generic Google/Gmail account but don't want students to have access to those.
I love that in Jelly Bean there is a new multi-user function. The bad news is that the new user has to be added by the device owner. Is there any way I can make it so that from the lock screen there is a way that a new user can add their own account? Or any better way (app/mod, etc) that would make managing accounts easier without requiring the device admin?
Hi, I would like to know the cheap and best option for an android tablet in India that could be used in a Retail environment, also i would like to know how can i control my tablet from installing/using any other applications other than the application, than which we suggest the stores to use?
Basically i need to check with you experts, on how we could restrict the users from misusing the tab other than the purpose which is meant to serve.
Case is that : I would need to restrict the tab to use only a single app on the tablet- and should restrict the users from meddling with the tab
New to xda; WELCOME ME.
For years Runescape has been talked about in terms of being ported onto a mobile platform. It was never really possible as Java cannot be installed on Android or IOS natively. People are currently settling for AlwaysOnPC at around 2fps or using a remote desktop program and running it directly from their PC, as if streaming it with input.
My question is, is it possible to run the new platform that Runescape now runs on, HTML5? If so, I want to start developing an app to do so. Chrome on Android itself supports HTML5 so if you were to download the entire cache (although it would be huge) and load it directly onto an apk, would it work? Obvious UI changed would need to be coded but it seems plauble to me. Any ideas?:good:
We have a hundred tablets running Android 4.0.4
We would like to give them to all students in our school who cannot afford a new computer. It would be used to use the gsuite apps but the Android version is too obsolete to install these apps.
I ask the developers of this forum to help us. Can you make a rom to use these Exagerate XZPAD700 Tablets?

Wondering why the need for an Android 4.0.4 custom ROM?
G Suite is Software as a service (SaaS) , means users have to connect to and use cloud-based apps over the Internet.
Think you don't have to install anything other than a bowser on tablet to make use of G Suite, if not already done yet.

Unfortunately, the gsuite apps we use are mainly classroom and Meet. But above all meet is the app we use most. To use Google meet we need to download from the play store, but it is available only for Android 5.0+ If instead we want to use Google meet in the browser in desktop mode, it tells us that the browser is not compatible. I have tried with other browsers for example dolphin, opera mini, uc browser etc. but it is the same problem. Ultimately we cannot use Google meet with these tablets and we have many. It's a shame not to be able to use them for students who don't have a computer.
To try out whether the tablets's Android is upgradeable or not, run the Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) what is a free, commercial-grade test suite, available for download here. The CTS runs on a desktop machine and executes test cases directly on attached devices .
