help me :( - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

You bought a new car Hyundai IX35
Car multimedia system has Android
But except for some basic things that the manufacturer has installed there is nothing interesting (YouTube, Chrome, etc.)
In addition the store application is not installed.
i attempted to transfer a apk file via Bluetooth but it also blocked
No file browser , thre is a usb port
I spoke with the Manufacturer's why it's blocked it for safety reasons
Does anyone have any idea how it can move a file and install a store?
I just want YouTube etc.
Thanks in advance

[Q] How to VPN to PC ?

Hi guys
I want to play files from my home file server through the wireless network on the SGS 2.
How can I do this ? Do I need to VPN in ?
yes i also need something like that to play my films from my pc on to my samsung phone... how do i do this?
I use CIFS and Mount Manager to access all my files. You have to be on the same network though. I never tried using a VPN to access files.
thanks mate but i only have 1 mac adress (because my carrier S*CKS) maybe i can try using hotspot... can you acces them and play them???
Did you try streaming the video? That way you would be able to access videos from anywhere and you would stream from your PC.
It's not an ideal solution but it could work on Android because I used something similar on my tablet once.
no i didnt but will try later after work... i only need it for the videos for the music i use audiogalaxy is freaking brilliant... its the best app for it.. no setup no nothing just install go to the webpage and your running its automatics find all your music on the pc.(for all try this) thanks a bunch
edit sorry last Q what do you use to stream videos
I use a paid remote connection app (Splashtop Remote) because it's fast and I can actually use it to play a video on my computer and watch it on my phone. It's not an ideal solution but it works for me when CIFS doesn't.
There is also this: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...quality-video-android-tversity-nswplayer.html
And this but I don't know if it works over a different network: http://www.appbrain.com/app/vlc-stream-convert/com.gmail.traveldevel.android.vlc.app
Whats the difference between these and using the allshare app?
Ricey
Any more suggestions on this ?
What if i want to transfer my files across from my PC to the phone if I'm not at home ?
Like .apk, photo files etc
yes vpn is necessary to get access your system out side the home....

DLNA Rubbish?

I had a galaxy s2 and used all share on the phone to remote play video from my PC to my phone. By pressing remote device and browsing my windows media shared videos.
Why on earth does this not work on the s3? It just shows no videos on my pc......
I use my DLNA router enabled every day or so without problem. Browsing NAS shared folder with Solid or ES File explorer and watching movies. Or Dice player directly for example. Must be a config problem.
I use ArkMC (available on the Play Store) to stream stuff from my pc to my I9300. Very straightforward app, no setup whatsoever and works flawlessly for me so far. Give it a go, you might just need to reboot the phone after install tho for the app to actually take in account whatever is available in your WindowsMediaPlayer library & If I recollect correctly, i had to do that before being able to use see my media files through the app. Hope this heleped and if it did please hit the thx button

Hello, I have several questions:
What do you use as a server on your PC?
And how is it going with HiDefinition video, is it plays good?

Hey letrouble, only saw your message today...
Anyways bout your two questions, for this app to work, like said previously you won't need anything setupwise, windows media player is the "server" so you only need to add your files to its library, install the app on your device, reboot it and that's pretty much it...
Concerning your second question, yes, HiDef files run flawlessly with it, on devices that actually support such a definition of course, ie galaxy S3 and many others... tried on my old galaxy tab P1000, they will load but the framerate will not be high enough to take pleasure in watching your content...
Hope that helped & hope all of u guys had a good Xmass and will have an even better NYE
UPnPlay and BubbleUPnP work great

Beaming to the Q - A Simpler Way to Launch Apps

So you've got a Q, and you've learned how to adb install apps to it... maybe even put a launcher on. But if you've got an NFC capable phone/tablet, you need not mess around with a launcher: your device will be your launcher.
As most of you probably know, the Q ships with a fully capable NFC radio. But for whatever reason, google only ever gave it one official function... beaming out a link the the Q App in the Play Store. Even if you already have it installed. They could have just as easily used a tag to do that job. But I've discovered that if you're running a sideloaded app, the Q will beam that app to your phone. Clearly, we're dealing with a fully beam-compatible device.
However, the Q is programmed to automatically push it's beam out when it finds a device that can receive it. To overcome this, you must open settings (either via a launcher or via adb shell, this is well-documented) and go to the "more" menu. Turn Android Beam OFF while leaving NFC on. This allows the Q to still read your incoming beams (they act just like tags, for compatibility) but it stop apps from opening unexpectedly on your phone.
Once you've done that, you can open any app installed on your Q simply by opening it on your phone/tablet and beaming it over. You'll still need a mouse or keyboard to navigate, but you won't have to futz around with getting to the launcher. This is working on my unrooted Q.
(I don't think this has been discussed before. I hope someone finds it useful!)
Thanks for the info, I was actually wondering whether this was available on the stock firmware. When you say you still need to launch/control with OTG, do things like Youtube links not autoplay when Beamed?

This basically opens the app like an android app on the Q. To click on things you need a mouse and an otg cable.

Animal24 has it right. And yes, it's available stock and unrooted. If you send a video to the Q, it will still work. However, when the video stops, it will return to the open app, not the standard home screen. If I recall correctly, music will play in the background if an app is open, and the lights will not dance.
That all said, I haven't used the Q since the new music lauched. :/

With CM10.1 and XBMC, I'm planning on using the Q to replace my Revue. I'm all OTA so I don't have a cablebox for the Revue to interface with, and with Aptoide I'm going to see if I can get the new Primetime working on the Q for finding and watching shows from Netflix/etc. Hopefully some year Primetime will do generic Amazon links instead of the GoogleTV apps. I'm using the new Play Music on my Q and using my phone as a remote. I've discovered that I can't seem to beam from the new Play Music to another device, or at least when I do it won't autoplay.

How are you doing this? ATM, I'm using BubbleUpNp from both sides, Q and phone. This allows me to still use Google Music as well as All Access. If there is a way to get the stock aplication to work in any way, please share

Hi FadedLite,
I'm using DroidMote to use my phone as a remote to the Nexus Q. I also use ShareKM, another fantastic option that lets me mouse "over" to my Nexus Q from my laptop and control the cursor with my laptop's mouse. One thing I need to figure out is a way to trigger DroidMote Server and ShareKM to start listening on boot, otherwise I have to use my OTG plugged mouse to open the programs and start them up once.
To use Google Music with All Access on the Q, as I stated I'm running CM 10.1 and they have a Gapps package that gives you the Play Store and Play Framework, so you can install Google Play Music and Movies & TV, etc.

Cheap NAS using any Android device. HELP!

Hi all
I bought recently one of those cheap Mini Android PC (the MK808B) and I am trying to setup an easy/cheap NAS with it so I can see my videos from other devices. This would let me turn off my big energy-sucker desktop PC and leave that light small device doing its job. By the way... I am using the MK808B, but the idea is that any rooted Android device would do it.
Until now the progress is big and I can say it almost works... but that "almost" is why I am here, asking for help.
This is what I have done until now:
In the MK808B I have installed:
- Paragon NTFS&HFS+ (so I can mount any NTFS device, in my case a 32GB FTFS flash drive but this would support any big hard drive) (needs root)
- Droid NAS (a free app that does in theory what NAS do, in theory only accessible from Macs and Android devices although that would still be OK since I want to access to those videos from our phones and tablet)
So, once all this is setup and running, I go to any of my Android devices and try to access. To do so, I installed:
- ES File Explorer (to access my MK808B via my WiFi connection)
- MX Player (to play the videos)
And here is the problem: I manage to access my MK808B, I can get into the mounted flash drive... but when I try to play any of the videos, whatever the format, MX Player gives me this error:
"Video problem"
"Can't play this video"
If I click on an image it opens it, if I try to copy files I can... is just playing videos that doesn't work. Could be accessing them through my WiFi connection the problem? Maybe the MK808B is not reliable enough, WiFi speaking? Should I get one of those USB-LAN thingy?
If you could help me I would appreciate it. And also, I think getting a setup like this working would be very useful for a lot of people, who could access their files from any device while at home
Thanks!
I use BubbleUpNp from the play store across all of my devices.
HTC One X, Google Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 and an MK809 plugged in the back of the TV. I do have a OTG-Lan plugged into a hub, with 1TB hard drive all plugged into the MK809. I have Finless 1.7 Rom on the TV Stick.
Seems to work well, allowing me to say use my tab to render a movie from my MK809 library (1TB Hard Drive).
Other recommendations for you are Droidmote. Droidmote server on your TV Stick and Droidmote client on your phone, acts as a remote.
XBMC android installed on your TV stick.

I think you must to extract tv firmware and mod it, because it is obsolete, i have the same problem.. I want to install app and i can't, and i think it's possible to activate "hdr" with an upgade, and i want to do, but i do n't know how to extract firmware (xscuse my English, i'm italian) i have experience with mod firmware, mod app etc..
The model i have is GRAETZ GR43E5600, and i think that with the help of xda developers we can do this
