I try to do a wipe or to clean the Cache but nothing happens, with the hardreset secuence (Volume UP and power) I can go to hardreset options or Fastboot.
maybe with the orginal rom I can do something.
well if you know a ROM that works for the padfone X Mini let me know too.

It is a very big file, take awhile for download.
I test it and work with rooted phone back to factory version that allow OTA update.
You will lost every data and setting in your phone.

Need to use cwm to restore this Rom back to your phone.
Look for "rooting Asus PadFone x mini" in xda. There is step by step instruction, but you need to know how to use cwm in the rooting procedures then restore Rom before rooting you mini.

Installing the OEM AT&T ROM on Asus padfone X Mini
I downloaded the AT&T OEM ROM but am having a hard time figuring out how to install it. Could anyone provide some detailed steps to get me started in the right direction. Have searched the forum and tried several methods with no luck.
Also the OEM ROM files come as self extracting RAR files, with the ROM files that automatically unzip when the RAR file is extracted. How do you open it without unzipping the files contained in the RAR file?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, the backup is actually a zipped ROM that can auto unzip when you run this executable file.
I zip it by using winrar and I make it auto unzip since not all people has winrar.
The file is only ROM back by CWM, not a installable file that will restore your automatically.
You need to know how to use CWM restore this ROM into your phone.
Please refer to "rooting Asus padfone x mini step by step" in xda forum search.
Follow the steps and at middle of rooting, the CWM can be used to restore this ROM back into your phone.
If you do not want to root the phone, after restore just reboot your phone and It will back to factory condition.
PS, I can help you root or restore your phone with small charge, PM me your email address.

Looks like it cleaned itself out of /Download/ - so I'm guessing anyone who hasn't done it yet, to get it BEFORE they start installing it. Otherwise it'll be gone.
For some reason when I try to check for updates - it just gets stuck and only shows the message checking.... but nothing happens.
Is this because I am rooted and/or have my bootloader unlocked? Or is it because I have CWM as my recovery?
I really hope someone can provide the OTA files so I can try and update through recovery.
Please someone save the file before updating and share!
looks like its 4.0.3...
anyone care to spew out the build #'s etc and versions of everything else?

Added to my dropbox, thanks mate.
thanks to violated - we now have the zip file.
sorry - a bunch of noob questions:
Do I still have to go to stock recovery and relock bootloader to use the zip file?
If not - do I just copy the zip file to the sd card and rename it to update.zip and install it from CWM recovery?
A walkthrough would be greatly appreciated! I don't want to brick my phone!
Lastly - if I want to keep all of my apps/settings - should I do a backup and then apply the update - then reload the backup?
Thanks in advance!

I'm sorry for the late reply.
Yes you can flash the phone with an unbranded rom, you can even flash it with the monosim rom, if you don't want the dual sim function.
Yes I know a lot of people who did it (they liked the phone features bu they don't need the DS functionality.)

Well, ONE TOUCH Upgrade S 2.8.0 says that my soft is up to date so it didn't flash anything. What way of flashing did you mean? Nandroid backup or flashing with a tool. And do you know a place where to find any ROMs?
Thank you for reply
any thread on this phone?
Anyone has a rom for this phone? I can't use upgrade S coz it says I have latest ROM available... Is there any workaround for this ?
Hi, anyone can give me the folder "/system/app" of OTS it's urgent ...
Thanks beforehand.
I'm uploading...
Why do you need it ?
system/apps from One Touch Star:
http://www.sendspace.pl/file/1806088e22aecd902052976
I deleted some app by inadvertently and I haven't notifications...
Thank you for it but for the moment the server is full. :cyclops:
PS: Can you give me your "/system/build.prop", mine is so changed.. ?
Mine is also heavily changed... I can share it anyway but like tommorow (you should remind me via PM).
One guy should have sent me the clean prop but still got no message from him ...
Can anyone confirm for me they have been able to successfully install a custom recovery (like clockworkmod) or a custom ROM onto this phone?
I am looking to get a phone for 6 months of international travel coming up and this one or the One Touch Mini seems perfect. (I like this one better though cause it has an AMOLED screen = better battery life )

Ok well I installed CWM and rooted my phone. I went ahead and got this one. Let's see what's cooking...now if only I can get that boot.img...
I am very happy to report I have created a flashable rom(via CWM or TWRP) which is essentially the same as the default rom on the star, but it has some of the junk apps alcatel pre-loads on the phone like game-loft removed and SuperSU installed.
I created it by getting the firmware.info file for our device, creating a custom update-script (getting the correct partition mounts from the firmware.info) using some pointers from DorianX's AOTI Lite Rom update-script, taking the system directory and boot.img from a nandroid backup after a factory reset, and getting the custpack directory by using a root file explorer to copy it to my sd and subsequently my computer editing the custpack, and finally packaging it together via dsixda's kitchen.
I am still working on slimming it down a little more as there are apps in /system/ that can be removed as well, but I just wanted to see if creating a custom ROM was doable. And it seems it was after 3 days of experimenting
Also got rid of that default hideous white theme by changing a setting in the build.prop.
I can upload it if anyone would like me to.

Sorry, Work is frantic at moment so rarely here..
Do you have android sdk installed on your Windows computer? If yes, you can test the recovery you are trying by using fastboot, (fastboot boot recovery.img) if it works then there is a good chance that you have a rom that overwrites recovery when booting so even if Odin installs it ok it does not stick on rebooting....
You can extract the recovery image that you downloaded from droid basement from the tar.md5 file.
If you are ok with trying all that then we might be able to get you root by booting into cwm recovery through fastboot and flashing the root.zip from there, theory being when you reboot after that you will lose your custom recovery but have root...

Its fine! Its great to have the help! I would be fine doing all of that stuff. Do you think there would be a way for me to make a backup of the stock ROM so that I would be able to use this method to flash a different ROM like CM and then have a recovery and lots of goodies?
I would just need my hand held through the entire process honestly, I have no idea how to do that stuff but I'm pretty good at following directions lol.
I suppose you could use the adb "pull" command to save all the necessary partitions... Not sure of the possibility of possibly making a nandroid using the fastbooted recovery while you're in there... Never thought of it before and never tried it so you could become a pioneer...

Another thought is that if you succeed in getting root then you can delete the file responsible for overwriting recovery on your locked boatloader and you will then be free to install a recovery and it will stick... File is install-recovery.sh in system/etc
Our you could try unlocking boatloader but you'll lose everything on the tab...

This ROM is the work of all of the above (and Sony of course), all that I have done is download the software and other files provided from the sources above, ran the programs, and uploaded the result for you to use.
If you have access to a Windows computer, there's nothing stopping you from doing the same for your specific Z Ultra model or region, if you download and use this ROM, thank each and every one of the XDA members above, not me.
In fact, If you have the above on your computer, you could probably build your own in less time that it would take for you to download this one.

Ok so I should have more faith in myself. So by the end of my nightmare I messed up my boot AND my recovery and could only get into download mode. Im back in my phone and everything is running perfect. So for those out there that know WAY more about making roots and roms you might be able to use this stock rom to finally root this monster. Or at least if you soft brick your device you can use these files to get back into your phone until we are able to get the stock rom for this phone. The link to the stock rom for the SM-G360T is below. Hope we get a root for this phone soon. THX!
Im a noob poster on Xda so I cant link it but just go to sammobile.com and search for SM-G360T and make sure you sign up and activate ur account its free you just have to do that or the download link is broke. Have fun.
Did you have to do any unlocking?

Ya bro I did the extact same thing with the H root. Just put the boot.img in a tar and flash it like u did the H and it will fix it. You might get a security message after but u can just go to Kies and update back to stock if you dont mind losing all your data. Cheers.
The whole rom isn't tested

I extracted just the boot.img and made my own tar to flash just the kernel, which was the problem. Flashing the whole rom isn't what you need to do in this case. Just make a mental note that you can you use the boot.img and recovery.img to get back into android.
Hello this is androidadmirer
i recently bought a samsung galaxy core prime from metro pcs
out of the box lolipop 5.1.1
i have an idea how to break this phone loose
but i need some input from you all to see if i'm wrong or if this is possible
so my plan is to use odin to flash the samsung core sm-360hu version firmware and they have a working twrp recovery
then make a rom with the t mobile firmware and insert su in bin and xbin (the t mobile firmware works perfect because it's the same network and same android 5.1.1 o.s
this sounds really good in theory but i don't know if i am totally right
can someone chime in on this please
any help will be very appriciated
Let me know

Let me know if that custom recovery works if not u can use the sm-g360t (t-mobile) to get back though if I remember right the phone has to be rooted for twrp to work right not sure....also you should be able to get the stock rom from smart switch if you force the update that way you have the rom that was made for it as a base...I will try and get the rom and post it I was just checking and there is an update. Let me know

im gonna try and flash the galaxy grand prime rom and then use odin to flash a recovery on it because its only 4.4.4 so my thought was to flash the "downgraded 4.4.4" then flash the twrp and then make a rom from the t mobile odin firmware
where is the link? thanks

Hi. Can you post the link to download the firmware ? Thanks
SM-G360T1 "boot.img" And "recovery.img" Files
I just uploaded the "boot.img" and "recovery.img" from the latest stock update for the SM-G360T1 on this thread here if anyone needs it in the future.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62457159&postcount=42
EDIT: Updated this post today with ODIN flashable boot and recovery files. Be sure to read the whole post before flashing. Thanks!
I tried the F, H, & "lte" versions firmware, still no positive results, I keep having to flash back to the stock boot.img and recovery.img that bogarty has just linked above.... we need to find a way to unlock this bootloader on this devicez firmware... TWRP seems so close to working.
Huh?

Ok so Unlocking the Phone for use on other carriers is not the same as unlocking the bootloader. thank fully our bootloader is not locked... But it is always a good idea to completely free your device.. SO
As long as you own your device out-right and it was purchased >90 days ago, then Metro cant say no.
This post is just for those that don't already know, (make sure you do this first before you flash a recovery or try a root method)
The Samsung Galaxy Core Prime comes locked from Metropcs by default. But after you buy it and its yours..
just call them @ (+1-888-8METRO8) or (1-888-863-8768)
1. Ask for tech support
2. Ask for the unlock code,
3. Tell them you leaving the carrier.. or the country.. and they will give you the unlock codes (plural 2 codes one for the Device and the other for the Sim card if you say your leaving the country).
4. Put in the code and your good to go..
PS... Its your device.. Bought and payed for...... They really can't say NO..........

so i did the root on my phone.... Can i still unlock my phone?
send from hdx 7 using tapatalk
I didnt found a way to unlock my sm-g360t1, i made the root and tryed several boxes that told me "device unlocked" but wasnt true. Have to pay 24 bucks online to whitelist imei and unlock it trought the device unlock app. I flashed the stock rom from sammobile before but maybe works with the rooted phone too. Problem solved for me
so i got the frp message. odin flashed stock recovery and boot now it gets stuck on the metro pcs screen..... FML can anyone help me fix this problem ?
I had to flash the stock from sammobile SM-G360T1 is what you have to search for then start over but make sure the oem unlock is switched to in that causes the frp (factory reset protection)

Or just wait If I remember correctly it took my phone several minutes to boot after flashing stock
