I'm using xposed on a 5.1 lollipop rom and apps are not automatically hibernating. What are the conditions for which apps start auto hibernating?
Root mode or boost mode?
Have you enabled Greenify in Device Administrators and Accessibility?
Have you chosen the apps to be hibernated?

Well that's not good. At present running v3 B5 on a Amazon HDX running CM 12.1. previous had no issues with CM 13.0 but that was on an earlier build of Greenify (still in 3.x series). Have you tried rolling back to v3 B4 (3.0.4)?

Of course you can, this tool has been specifically made for ZenFones (running Android KitKat). So unless you do something extraordinarily stupid there is nothing that can go wrong. And if you think you have the potential to do something that stupid, abort! I repeat abort the mission!

Also, when I try to activate a module, it says cannot write to /data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf/modules.list

Yet xposed says it isn't active nor installed. Still experiencing problems activating modules though.. I cannot activate any module and instead, it shows that error I posted above.

Yo. Xposed is pretty unstable at zenfone 5. At least for me I can't run the greenify module and didn't tried the amplify but the greenify keeps rebooting the phone and so...Now I only use greenify @ root and it's fine. And I removed the xposed
Not really

Xposed is not at all unstable. The only issue ZenFones ever had with Xposed was the installation bit, and that's why we have this tool. I haven't used Greenify so I can't write anything about it but so far I have had no issues with Xposed framework.

Installation was fine. Greenify can run and how it works. Other modules for xposed well. I have a problem that applications that are not part of xposed causes the system rebooted. For example, e-mail, weather, 2SD card, and many more. I was very much looking forward to xposed. But for restart other applications we have to uninstall it.
Any idea

It might be possible that Greenify is causing all your problems. So what I suggest is a clean Xposed Install. And not use Greenify, at least for now. It sure is worth a try.
Xposed installs normally on my ASUS ZenFone 5 (A501CG) without this thing. No bootloops, no problems, nothing. Everything just works fine.

quite interesting post, totally run into this thread by accident.

I think it depends more on the modules. If you use normal install xposed you will soft brick your zenphone ( not 100% sure but pretty sure).

WIth the Stock ROM you won't be able to use all the functionalities provided by GravityBox however universal modules will work. If you want to use Xposed to it's fullest I suggest that you flash this AOSP ROM.
Nexus 5, Lollipop 5.0.2. Greenify always tells me 'something is blocking the Greenify service' but I've got all the services enabled and things like that. I checked accessibility, and the greenify option is unticked. It becomes unticked after every reboot.
I'm using the donation and Xposed package, does anybody have any tips to fix this?
Is your Greenify running in root or non-root mode?
Accessibility service only make sense in non-root mode.

I too am having the same issue on cm12 nightlies. All my greenify experimental settings are getting unticked after reboot. I'm using built-in root with Xposed and donation package
Accessibility setting- Greenify Off
I am using Xiaomi Redmi 1s and I am also facing this issue. I noticed that the setting get unchecked even without reboot. It will run for some time and when I check greenify , it will be showing greenify (no auto-hibernation..) and several apps will be listed under "waiting for manual hibernation". When I go to accessibility setting, Greenify will be off
I have same issue, was there a fix for this?

I think,
you should make SELinux to permissive mode.
Hello,
I have the same issue. When I reboot the phone all experimental features are unticked/unchecked. I use boost mode (I also try with root mode), Greenify 2.6.2. I have the donation and Xposed package. My phone is a Elephone P7000 on Android 5.0, with SuperSU.
Do you have any solution? What is SELinux?
Thanks

In MIUI, you need to whitelist Greenify for auto-start settings. MIUI may block and kill the cleaner service of Greenify unless explicitly whitelisted.

HI
Is Greenify thoroughly tested with latest Lollipop ROMs? Namely CM12 5.0.2.
I use more Xposed app to improve phone performance including Greenify but instead the phone becomes slowish to laggy. This list ranks Greenify as incompatible:
http://android.wonderhowto.com/inspiration/complete-list-lollipop-compatible-xposed-modules-0160380/
These modules I have currently active:
- 3C Toolbox
- Greenify
- Amplify (formerly Unbounce)
- Lollipop Memory Leak Fix
- Lucky Patcher Xposed settings
- BubbleUPNP
- Xposed Additions
- Gesture Control
+ Xposed Framework 3.0 Alpha 2
Never try on CM12 5.0.2 but I try on CM12.1 5.1 and get bootloop.
Greenify should work on Android 5.0.x. I'm aware of the bootloop on Android 5.1.x and going to investigate the issue when I get my hands on a 5.1.x device.

Hello, I have android 5.1 and have the Greenify working in a SG-GT-8730. and I do not have xposed installed, for if it serves them.
After some hard trial and error, I failed to make Greenify compatible with the current super alpha version (20150501) of the unofficial Xposed build. Seems like an issue in the framework itself (which is reported to the developer)
At present, I have to disable the Xposed module of Greenify on Android 5.1 until I can verify it works with the later improved build of Xposed framework, to save your time from a bootloop.
thx for letting us know ? keep us posted ?

My setup
ROM: Nitrogen
XPOSED: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/xposed-android-nougat-sdk-25-arm64-t3639221
Modules: minminguard, youtube adaway
works/doesnt work: so far both modules appear to be working. i have had a few app FC on reboot but nothing significant

Great minds think alike.
Haven't really missed Xposed on Nougat. Can't think of anything I used Xposed for that I'm not getting with current ROM (Screw'd) and Magisk modules.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
I was preparing to switch to another ROM with a clean flash in mind so I decided to try this on my 6P running July security, RR ROM, Franco Kernel, and Magisk - even though it's not compatible with our device. Flash succeeded and device booted but immediately after a plethora of apps crashed. I was able to open the manager app and browse through the list of available modules but clicking on download yielded a microsecond download before failing in all cases. Pretty interesting at any rate. Apk confirmed that the framework had been installed. Hopefully, this helps push xposed development forward a little bit
Yeah, same here...gave it a try and multiple app crashes. Everything was fine after running the installer. Will try again when official support for the 6P is out.

yea having the same issues after installing the framework had to restore for now...
Installed v87 and seems to be working
so far enabled adblocker, youtube adaway, and greenify modules
greenify or youtube adaway modules don't seem to be working
running RR 5.8.3 - 7/8/17
I tried a version on Pure Nexus 7.1.1. Lots of FCs, some insignificant, some critical system processes. Turned the Greenify and 3C modules. 3C worked fine, but Greenify couldn't see that it's module was active. Xposed uninstall .zip worked fine for removal and return to no FC state. Sad.
running stock 7.1.1 N4F26T
working exposed version
xposed-v88.2-sdk25-arm64
no work:
xposed-v88-sdk25-arm64
xposed-v88.1-sdk25-arm64
xposed-v89-sdk25-arm64

So no need to do ADB or dump permissions, just install Greenify?
Also, should I install the version from Play Store or use the beta?
Thanks

Once you installed it, make the settings you desire and poof, you're done. I may ask you to enable one permission in settings just to work right. I have the version from play store. What i did, was just to make the settings it asks in the beginning and then I added the apps i wanted to hibernate. And that's all. Enable root access, but not xposed in greenify.
it make hibernate apps quickly just like with xposed
it make greenify to hibernate apps as fast greenify do with boost mode

If you used the Xposed by PurifyOS, then Greenify will not work as an Xposed module. It is not compatible with that version of Xposed.
You can use Magisk and install the Magisk module of Greenify to enjoy something better than Boost mode in Greenify. Still the Xposed based functions of Greenify won't work.
EDIT: Or you can simply use Greenify as a root app without Boost mode and Xposed based functionalities.

...along with "unofficial Xposed" which is not officially supported...until it is...which is not currently the case.
