Guys I have a problem with my 64gb SanDisk.. I have xperia z ultra android 5.0.2 not rooted.. I have problem with the exfat format.. when I format my Sd card using the setting->storage->erase sd card, it formats perfectly.. but after I download torrents with large single files, it starts normally, but after an amount of time the sd card deletes its contents like it reformats it self. im using now the fat32 format but the 4gb size limit is kindda frustrating ?.. any help would be appreciated!!
not much u can do... you are on stock rom and not rooted.
You just have to live with it.

No method you can do, root access is a base condition. No metter you want to edit your system, enable scripts and more are all need that. If you want to get root access, you can try Kingroot

Thanks guys.. But why should I root.. This mobile support up to 64gb sd card by default.. plus i dont want to use the sd card for the apps.. I just want it to save and store my music and videos and other things.. thamks again..

hi all i have been very annoyed with sonys attitude to getting the sd card mounting wrong even after speaking to them online and over the phone i got the same reply ... this is not a fault with sony this is something you will need to contact the app devs. unhappy with this i tried fixes found on the www all came up with the same problem it all works fine on the phone but not on pc so after a bit of work i think i have a solution
the vold.fstabs in the /etc needs to be tweaked as with all others on the net but this one works with the pc as well.
has been tested on my device if you replace it with the file attached (root access required ) after renaming original to .bak .
reboot device if you get sd error on reboot please delete and restore orginal and post your finding
please note i am not a dev i have some knowledge but just a hobbyist

Could you please explain what kind of problem this is? The SD EXT card i believe is the extra memory card you insert into the phone. If so, i don't have any problem with that one.

this is a problem with all go and as far as i know all xperia 2012 phones where the internal memory is partitioned to system and user the user is then mounted as sd card meaning that after 4gb no more app data can be installed etc. this means that you SD CARD is unusable for apps and app data (apps2sd) will try to install to sd card but go to internal memory

Uhu, I messed up.
I did everything you said, but right after restarting, some apps (usbotg, media service etc) stopped working and some apps as well, I think they were in internal storage.
One thing, as you were saying, the ext_sd will be sdcard and the sdcard will be ext_sd?
[Xperia Go] are the mountpoints the same in JB?
If I switch my internal and external sd mountpoints using ICS, will a upgrade to JB using SUS overwrite the(modified) vfold.fstab?
Isuspect the upgrade will unroot the phone

Hey guys I'm having an issue with setting my sd card as my download directory, when I set it to external sd and try to download anything wether it be a picture or a document I get Message saying their is not enough space cannot finish download, now I thought it might be my sd card going bad so I went out and purchased a New one 64GB, old one was 32gb but I'm still getting the same message, I can set it to internal memory dl the file and then transfer it to my sd after just fine so I know now it's not an sd issue.
Anyone have a solution to this issue or advice on what I should try thanks

You could try the app SDFix by NextApp in the Play Store. It's free.

OP - Are you rooted?
KitKat has issues with access to microSD depending on what you are doing.
You will need to enable full access to SD.
Look in the root thread ot use Xposed with Tweakbox.

Yes I am rooted, All I'm trying to do is set the sd card as my dl directory, so files save to my sd card and not internal memory.
I have xpososed as well as tweak box already installed

boat browser is not a privileged app. It will not write everywhere on the sdcard with default kitkat privileges. you can change them manually or since you are rooted use an app like sdfix or an xposed module to do the change for you.

I have the same problem with the internal card. i can't download anything off of playstore anymore because it says insufficient memory. I am going to have to flash the stock b06 thing and start over. blows. Oh and there is like 12 gig available on the internal card and I dont see any other way around it. Maybe after refreshing I will be able to implement the newest root method and that will clear it up. Also I DON'T have a problem saving random objects to the samsung evo 64gb (omg you have to get one) because I did the kitkat fix and it worked fine.
Hi guys! First time here. I have a few questions about Moto E.
I frequently use apps like Airdroid and Software Data cable to transfer my stuff to and from my computer. Transferring to computer works like a charm, but since the internal memory is only 2.4GB(1.3 already used), I cannot transfer files which are pretty huge. The SD card restrictions found in Kitkat does not allow me to copy files directly to External SD card. Is there any way I can change the restrictions without rooting my phone? Thanks in Advance.

...well, you could install a custom recovery, mount /system RW and replace the framework with one patched to remove the restriction, but I guess the effort isn't worth it except as a personal challenge!

Download worlds of tanks and limbo and try to put data in sd card and run...on ur kitkat ..i can run them from sd card on lollipop..(just to confirm that lollipop got us that feature..! So that i can try more games or search what is preventing other games)

I was actually concerned about copying large files from computer to SD card using airdroid. Like for example, if i want to copy a 4 gb file, i can't do it without a data cable or card reader. But i don't know if we can put app data in Sd card. I had to stop playing dead trigger 2 because of low storage? Do you think it's possible to put obb's in SD card in moto e?

Just went ahead and tested for you, I tried moving files to external SD card and I have two apps installed on the external SD card. Works fine.

I am still on 4.4.4 with root and LB as I dont want to upgrade to lollipop and lose root+x reality. The update detail says "move apps to sd card" so I guess we can only move apps.
Yes, I believe you can move some apps to SD card ? . I believe it mentions this on Sony Xperia™ support site.

So it still has the same problem as 4.4, damn it, why would they do that... I guess I'll wait for an easy and tested root method before upgrading then.

this is true. although some apps have workarounds (ex. x-plore), a lot of apps still can't write to sd with lollipop 5.0.2 on xperia.

I have some problems with my laptop's OS.
It doesn't have an OS at the moment!
So I am trying to download an OS for it via my phone,and that OS's size is 7.22 GB.
I would like to download it to the 8 GB MicroSD card,the card after formating has free space of 7.40 GB.
Bur because the format of the card is FAT32, the OS stops downloading when 4 GB are downloaded.
So I would like to change the format of the MicroSD card from FAT32 to ExFat,in order to download the OS which is larger than 4 GB,but to download it to my non-rooted phone.
Please help me!
