Hi,
I want to do full system backup / disaster recovery backup before I try to root or CyanogenMod on my Xperia Pro MK16i.
In case changing the OS or rooting the phone will fail I do want to have possibility to recover to my shipped OS.
Basically I want to do what Norton Ghost or Clonezilla does for PCs.
Is there any software for Android phones that can do that ?
Cheers,
czezz
Is there any way to completely backup/image my phone before I try to root it ?
I am asking about something like GHOST/Clonzilla for PC.

as the topic says,
if not, can anyone upload that app?
It won't affect anything else on your phone, so if you don't use it just remove it, you can always make a full backup with recovery and restore the data from there.
There is an app called appbackup i use it all the time u js backup all ur apps to ur sdcard and then after installing a new rom u cn restore.
No,this is not a System-depending application. This is just used to backup apps and contacts (on Sony Ericsson X10 line phones) to backup your data for one of the following reasons :
- Your firmware may be affected by something and you'll need to restore the contacts/sms/apps after the restoration
- You may have 2.0.5.A.0.24 firmware and you need to upgrade to 2.1.1.A.0.6.If you don't perform a backup you will lose every single data/setting that is stored on the phone's memory
- Your little brother accidentially pressed Restore to Factory defaults, without backup, now you won't be able to call that new girl Mary because you don't have her number! What you're gonna do then ?
OK,you can choose alternative backup applications but the sony ericsson one is here : Backup and restore for Eclair or the modded one to work for Froyo (and Gingerbread I think) Modded Backup & Restore, tutorial to install + download
Hope I helped,and I think I deserve a "Thanks",so...
SMASH THAT THANKS BUTTON
thanks
I just bought an Asus TF300T today and the battery is charging at the moment.
While drooling over the tablet, which had only been delivered to the shop an hour before I arrived, the sales man gave me some good advice but sadly was unable to give me an answer.
The sales man said that I should back the Android ICS operating system as soon as possible and know how to restore the OS in the future.
This does indeed sound like good advice as I can and do make images of my Windows 7 OS with Acronis and from time to time I use these images to get rid of crudd and get the OS back to top speed.
So, how do I make an image of my new operating system on my Android device and how do I use this image to restore order when the proverbial hits the fan at a future date?
Cheers
For that you will have to root your device, install recovery. Then from recovery you can easily backup and restore your device.
I don't know this phone/tablet but no is very simple make a full backup, a backup of all you system, boot, preloader etc etc file.
from you original recovery normally you can make a backup only for userdata, no full backup...
if you can install a modded recovery you can do a nandroid backup: system (the S.O android=, and normally a backup of boot and recovery)
but you no have a full backup again...
every phone has own full backup...
example there is A script for make full backup pf phone with mt6573....
but this script is no good for phone with mt6575
you must looking for a procedure fo your phone.

The best way is to Root tablet, do backup or restore then unroot.
The best app for backup and restore is Titanium Backup.

If you want to only restore apps then you dont need to root a tablet but if you want to restore apps + data os those apps
then you need to root a device.
Hi all, I would like to know if LG devices have the same problem with corrupted data on EFS folder/partition, and if so therefore lose the IMEI by a bad flashing getting a corrupted imei.
So, if LG devices have the same problem as Samsung ones, which apps are the best to backing up those files? Maybe using Terminal Emulator (dd if=/dev/block/......)? Also, I wanted to tried the following apps on Android, but I never have done any backup with them, until now.:
- FlashFire (this give me more confidence)
- EFS Backup
- Partitions Backup & Restore
- EFS Professional Tool (for PC)
My device: LG K10 (k420) - ROOTED with locked bootloader (if possible, I don't want to unlock it).
Nobody know?
Hello,
I made Android head unit out of Lenovo Tab 7 and I would like to make complete backup of everything because I put alot of work in it... launcher, layout, dab+, costum animation when screen unlocked, automated functions, ...
I wouldn't like to install costum recovery, because if things get realy bad I can loose my software & settings.
I tried to root it with a few apps, but with no success.
How can I make a backup?
Thank you
