Post the exact file name of the RUU you are trying to run.
What versions Windows (7, 8, etc.)?
Are your ports USB 3.0?
I've seen this issue posted a few times. I don't know if a solution was ever found; and you may need to try on another PC.

Thanks for replying. The exact file name for the RUU is : RUU_M8[email protected]50319A_40.45.C33065.00_F_release_426617_signed_2.exe
iam using Windows 7 32 bit and the usb ports are 2.0
I have tried it with other computer but with no luck

Try downloading the RUU file again.
Try running the phone in fastboot mode, if not already.
Other than that, those are the only ideas I can think of.

The following just got bumped. I forgot dottat made a zip version of the Lollipop RUU. Give it a try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/general/exe-zip-ruu-m8att-4-4-4-s-off-onlynewest-t3015680
EDIT: Oops, realized the above RUU ZIP requires s-off, and the OP has s-on.

[Q] original rom HD2?

hi guys,
I installed an android rom a couple of weeks ago, and it worked fine.
until my touchscreen stopped working. so now I want to restore my
phone to its original state, so I can send it in for repair.
but which radio, rom and SPL do I need?
I couldn't find it in other threads, so I figured that I should begin a new one.
I hope that someone has an answer to my question.
Jean-Piere
Try to find out, using the serial number of your HD2, to download a ROM from htc.com support. Usually, only the ROMs which are good for your device will be available to download - get one of them (older or newer), flash it via SD card method, this will delete MAGLDR (if installed), replace any HSPL and re-install the Radio ROM which is correct for the ROM you just downloaded and flashed.
Some ROMs from some operators may not be available, many of those can be found on forums like xda-devs.
Thnx, I've got my spl and rom back to the original! but how do I find out which radio I need?
Jean-Piere
The radio will have flashed with the stock rom. stock roms always flash the radio too, whether usb or sd card.

For an unbranded HD2, you go to www.htc.com. Select the country from where you bought your HD2 (it doesnt matter where you live/use). Then go to the support section. Phone type select HD2. Find the ROM Update (latest one is 3.14.xxx). You will be required to put your Serial Number to download the rom.
For a branded HD2, go to the carrier's website. You may be required to put your IMEI instead of Serial Number.
Good luck

[Q] HBOOT 1.02 For the Aria (Not ATT)

I have searched and downloaded many 2.2 RUU files but all of them for ATT branded Arias I guess. Because they started without problem and gave out an error in the middle of the process (device identification error or sth like that). Can anyone provide a link for me to get 1.02 HBOOT for my Aria to use S-OFF feature with AlpharevX? I just want a 2.2 RUU file that I can install to my NOT ATT branded Aria.
Thanks.

Have you looked at this thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133446
Does it apply in your case? Do you have a Gratia?
If not, then you need to create a goldcard and try to run the AT&T Froyo update.
Also you may want to drop into the Aria IRC chatroom and ask for some assistance or guidance:

Yes I have looked that thread, but I dont have Gratia
Would goldcard way success with AT&T brand update? I will try that, thanks for the help
Edit: It totally worked! Thank you very much. Just a question, should I update radio after I finish my job with the actual Aria ROM installation? (ATT branded radio is the same with regular Aria?)

I wouldn't mess with the radio unless you experience some issues.
i dont believe you need to update the Radio like in Moto Androids.
BTW, there was also a 2.2 update RUU for Asia model Aria. Hong Kong was the first to release this update if memory serves. anyway, glad you worked it out M8

[Q] imported HTC flyer

Hi guys hope someone can help me. I got a HTC flyer for Christmas, turns out it an Asian import. I'm unable to install UK specfic apps such as iPlayer etc because of this. Is there any why of get the UK Rom on it? And if so is there a guide somewhere?
Thanks
Stee

hi thanks for your reply. I don't understand what s-off is, there a guide on this somewhere thanks.
Stee
Instructions to get S-OFF Gingerbread by globatron
Instructions to get S-OFF Honeycomb by globatron
Ok, I'm still working on this..
I need to go back to the gingerbread rom from what I understand. But to do that I need to downgrade with URR. Anyone know where I can find this one?:
Ruu Flyer Htc Asia Hk 2 27 708 1 Radio 20 3504 30 089bu 3809 07 04 06 M Release 204709 Signed
Thanks
After hours of searching i've managed to find and download the file
Problem now is I don't know what to do with it :S can't find a guide that goes into enough detail, please help.
thanks
You won't be able to run that RUU, since its older than the firmware version on your Flyer.
I think you need to follow this guide to downgrade:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1307759&highlight=downgrade
Keep in mind that using HTC Unlock will void your warranty. But I don't think there is any other way.

That's not very helpful. What was the error, what RUU did you use, what is the CID of your device?

[Q] Where can I get O2 rom 1.17.206.1 or above? Can I backup rom from a stock HOX+?

I have a HOX+ that I would like to return to an O2 stock rom. I can only find an O2 rom that is 1.14.206.13 (on htcruu)
my HBOOT is 1.35 which is higher than the rom on htcruu.
I believe I need an O2 image of 1.17.206.1 or higher (running the RUU app shows my image version as 1.17.206.1)
Does anyone know where I can download a newer image or is it possible I could pull the image off of a stock 02 HOX+. I have one that hasn't been opened yet so I imagine once I turn it on and do an OTA it should be similar version to mine.
Many thanks
Jon
Hasn't been released yet, i am after the same Rom.
Hopefully in the next few weeks it shall be released.
Any progress ?
Or a nandroid backup of stock available ?
subscribe.
Thanks for asking, Notechis... I don't know if you do this because of me, but anyhow you seem to look for the very same thing as I do.
It would be really great if a 1.17.206.1 RUU would surface somewhere.

This is very much appreciated.
I'd even offer some small amounts of money for that file. I am desperate.
Edit: The money is off the table. Notechis helped me out, so if I owe anyone, I owe him.

Same here. I called O2 - O2 says "Ask HTC" - i called HTC and they said "O2 must provide the RUU to their customers. That is nothing HTC would do". I have NOT bricked my HOX+ but i can´t use the storage.
I can call and anything like that but nothing which uses the storage because the storage seems to be read only.
Playstore crashes when i want to update apps.
Please help. Have a large storage at my phone i can´t use it. Anybody an idea what the problem is?
At the moment i have AKOP as rom on the phone.
Looking for a RUU myself.... Vodafone UK 1.17 ....... should anyone able to help please post here

First of all, never, ever do duplicate threads on a forum, and this forum ain't meant for troubleshooting. The correct forum would have been EVO 3D Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting, where you already had one topic regarding EXACTLY THE SAME problem. Read the forum rules since this here, is lame...
3.28 means ICS, so get the appropriate ruu. Most likely* you will need the European RUU from there http://www.androidruu.com/getdownlo...00U_11.25.3504.06_M_release_262714_signed.exe
Thank me later. And your bootloader must be locked prior to flashing the ruu and to flash the ruu you must have the adb drivers and your phone in fastboot usb mode.
Thank you so very much,,,srry but i have bad internet connection its only for aboute that....i go to try that,,,thx..
