Are you guys satisfied with battery life? - HTC Desire 610

I'm using greenify and amplify plus i keep my screen brightness low and timeout screen 15 seconds but it feels like my battery life is crap.
I have other devices running CM with no apps like greenify and they typically last longer. I can leave those on overnight and still be at 100% but htc desire 610 will drop 3 to 5% if left off charger.
You think my battery has degraded? I bought this phone last august and have used it daily. If anyone is getting really good battery life please share if youre using any power saving apps, wakelocks, settings, etc. Thanks.

Battery life is OK for me especially when you consider I've always got mobile data, wifi and bluetooth on all the time. I can get about a day out of it most of the time

I always leave wifi, data, and bluetooth off unless I'm using them and was getting about 3 to 4 days battery life but now after stripping out all htc and google bloat my battery life has more than doubled to 8 or 9 days. There is so much htc background crap running all the time on full stock rom.

Download and install the slimkat ROM for the desire 610. Way better ROM for battery, cause I'm using it and my battery is way better

Yea I've been employing basic saver settings (disable hotword, screen brightness, etc.) and before slimrom i was freezing everything i could now I'm testing slimsizer with success. I do see improvement but after 11 months as a daily driver I think battery has degraded some. On a quasy related subject I bought the fire phone today. Too good a deal to pass up. I own 2 fire tvs and a fire tv stick and been planning on subscribing to prime. The fire phone comes with a year prime membership ($99) for a grand total of $168 with tax. And it's unlocked. But that deal might end soon.
If you're into development (which obviously I am) fire os is nothing to get excited about but I think it's some great hardware and looking on the forums it appears rootable with CM11. I doubt I could sell my d 610 for much so I'll be holding onto it and looking forward to seeing if development takes off from here. Slimrom's been running great for me and I like the customizations, been using pie controls.
****Take that back what I said about fire phone. Root is only possible with lower firmware for now. (Hoping they send me one thats been in the warehouse for months.) Still don't regret it. Its great hardware but it might be more of a tablet for me than phone.

I have a firephone and it is 4.6.1.OS and I am rooted with supersu and google apps fully functional with no crash. To go a step further, alot of xposed modules work fine on the amazon firephone

How do you like your Razr?

Ive currently got a Droid Pro and have loved it.
I just went to my local VZ store yesterday because my wife is thinking about leaving sprint. Ive been on a family plan for the last 10 years haha and if I want to start my own family plan VZ will honor my grandfathered unlimited data on the new plan. AND they will honor unlim 4G as well!
So im thinking between the Razr and the Nexus that just came out yesterday.
Pros I see with the Razr
both front/rear camera are better
has hdmi
has sd card
same 1.2 processor
and should be one of the first phones to get ICS
any cons that I should know about?
How do you like your phone? How long have you had it?
Thanks everyone!
battery life during the first couple of days are bad. If you use it in very lite light areas with the screen playing something dimly lit you can see some splotches. seems like other bugs and complaints vary on how you use it. I absolutely love it. I will probably play with the galaxy nexus this weekend, but really would have to be blown out of water to trade it in.

Unlock screen itself just make me happy. Like Steve jobs goal on ipad,it makes you want to use it

I have a launch optus Razr XT910 and i love it. Battery life is fantastic. Though the verizon model doesnt have good battery life apparently.
Some may find the size of the phone an issue, but after a couple of days i got used to it.
Excellent phone, I am more than satisfied. Battery life is by me much better then on my previous htc desire.

Battery life on mine is pretty sick. Averaging a full day no problem. Smart Actions help i guess.
I love the the razr, have had it about 3 weeks now. No issues with the screen and the battery is SO much better than my samsung fascinate! I went to check out the Gnex today. first at a verizon store, as I was holding it the security cord thing ripped the back right off. Then I checked it out again at the verizon kiosk in the mall, looked at the back and they had it TAPED on!! I asked if there was an issue with the back coming off (obviously there is, at least with the security device attached) and they played stupid... Other than that it seemed nice for sure, but didn't make me want to trade in. Although I was really digging the white razr Your wife would probably like it too.
The battery life sucks. I can't use 4g at all. The data dropping is enough to make me want to shove this phone down motorolas throat. Since I bought this phone at an authorized agent I can only exchange this phone back where I bought it.
Since I'm a trucker and currently out under a load I can't return the phone for something that works.

I'm really happy with my Razr. Although, I would probably get the nexus just because of Android 4.0 (if I had the chance, which I don't)
after owning sgs2(sold) and galaxy note(still owned) i don't think i can go back to samsung. razr built quality is exemplary compared to samsung.
it is a solid hardware, comparable to blackberry 9900 (which i also used). the only drawback is battery drain which is probably caused by an app.
I didn't. Buttons are chintsy and often break or stick, body is the size of an S2/Infuse but screen is 35% smaller, batt not replaceable, went through a number of phone replacements in the 3 wks I had one etc. In the end, it's JAP just another low res phone.
been using a mth plus, built Q is far superior den my previous S2 n note unless u like e plastic feel? so far asia unbranded set seems no problem compare to those branded telco set encounter.. luving it!!!
Well so far im pretty much liking what i hear.
The battery life might be an issue. But im assuming with updates and once it gets ICS that it should help with battery life.
no battery problem here
I don't know if it is just me, but I am getting great battery life thanks to juice defender. Use it, it helps.
just root it this afternoon, froze some stuff (there are a lot of background stuff running, no wonder battery is crap), will see what happens..should get better..
one thing is the battery level in 10%..should have been in 1% each..

Most stock roms don't render it in 1% increments.

Unbranded GSM RAZR owner here... the phone's hardware is really nice. The build quality feels solid, and the buttons are fine after two weeks worth of use, despite complaints of them breaking quickly by others.
On the other hand... the stock ROM is kinda iffy. The RAZR's RIL likes to cause the Android phone subsystem to FC if the radio is booted in poor signal conditions, and the BLUR apps, such as the Gallery and Music Player, love to freeze, reset themselves and generally misbehave. OTOH, the BLUR contacts app and dialer are fine, Smart Actions and Mobile Hotspot work really well, and Motorola's modified browser is actually marginally faster than the ICS browser on the almost-identically stacked Galaxy Nexus. To be honest, the Gallery and Music Player issues can be almost overlooked, as there are better alternatives on the Market.
Flash is smooth as butter - it's a smoother experience than running it on your average Atom-powered nettop with XP, for sure. Streaming video is no issue, though like in other OMAP4-powered devices, 1080p streaming is a no-no, which may disappoint those looking to hook up over HDMI.
You're going to struggle with battery life for certain in the first few days. It's not going to last more than 8 or so hours on it's first few charges. It's fine after that, and Smart actions will help, especially if coupled with JuiceDefender. This is coming from a GSM user though. I've heard that the LTE radio really takes it's toll on the Droid RAZR.
Overall, this device is a tidy little package, and I'm really pleased with it. I just wish that the BLUR apps weren't so broken. Especially as the Music player sounds so good, it's really annoying at how unstable it is.
This is the best Android phone ever.

Thinking about getting a Maxx... Can you guys lend a moment?

Im coming from the Galaxy Nexus.. The phone is great but the battery and signal sucks. Is it true what we hear about the GREAT signal and the killer battery the Maxx has? If im lucky I can get about 2 hours of tapatalk. Signal sucks big time, no sense on talking about that haha. Also I dont know about the development here, but what all can we do? Unlocked bootloader? Any help on the Development and what all we can do is appreciated. Also, on how the battery and signal is... Can you guys stretch the battery out even more with the development you guys have?
Thanks!
BTW, my only switch to the MAxx is for battery and signal. Not so much the development.
Hi there,
I am a first time user too with the razr maxx, in fact it's only since 2 days ago
If you compare the likes of galaxy nexus to the maxx, first thing that will irritate you a bit is the resolution, i myself consider it as a step back from my previous phone, xperia ray. Will be even more painful if you migrate from the nexus lol, but once you forget about it, it's essentially as capable device as a nexus, faster a bit maybe due to decreased resolution and more available ram due to less ram assigned for display but JB non existence hinders it a bit. But i won't consider the JB is a must, because the ICS one is quite zippy too.
The battery is, if i might illustrate it, is a hard to kill but still killable. It depends on your usage pattern. I mean, don't expect a miracle of 2 or 3 online days, but imagine a double battery kit on a single charge, so you will get around twice the time you usually had with the standard Android phone.
About the ROM mods, I'm not sure about that, but the possibilities are there despites the locked bootloader. The ROM slots are available for 2 ROMs when the Boot Menu Manager is installed, so you can tinker with it. The overclock can be done with a module, no custom kernel needed for that so it's quite a flexible device in my POV, because the battery alone is worth it IMO.
Sent from my XT910 using xda app-developers app
yeah Im chasing battery. I dont the Resolution can be THAT bad.. My wife has the first razr. Im guessing, if I can deal/like that then Id be good to go. ANd yeah as far as battery Im after just a longer battery life. I dont want days just more than 2 hours, if that...
Yep, if you're all about battery life then as they said, there's no any other that can match for a while. But if you're still digging for future proof specs, I'll say wait for the maxx hd. but the same ram size yet the hd resolution (less ram for apps), and the snapdragon soc (which although fast, seems a little bit choppy and not a true a15 class of ARM) makes me think twice so i took the standard maxx rather than waiting for the hd.
Sent from my XT910 using xda app-developers app
Yeah im getting a pretty much brand new xt912 for 250.
anyone else?
I love the maxx, get it you won't regret it. I haven't been this satisfied with any android phone as I have this one and I've owned 6 different smartphones before I got the maxx. When I am finally due for an upgrade in November 2013, I may go with something like the Note 2 only for the screen size and quad core. But this perfectly fits me now.

Also came from a Gnex. While I loved the unlocked freedom the device gave me, I had similar complaints over signal and battery life. I learned to work around battery life by having multiple chargers around all the time, but I finally had enough of poor signal and voice call quality. Note: I do believe a large portion of the poor battery performance is due to the radios constantly trying to find a source. Friends that have the Gnex and live closer to towers seem to get better battery life.
Purchased MAXX and I couldn't be happier. Battery life is AWESOME for me. I use the phone however I want, Pandora, GPS, YouTube, wifi hotspot, etc and usually still have 40-50% at the end of day. Signal and voice quality is night and day difference. I now get LTE everywhere as before I used to struggle just to get 3g in the same areas.
I've decided to keep the Gnex as a backup device, and for if I get the urge to ROM or tinker. Who knows, maybe one day Samsung or whoever will finally release some decent radio flashes that will fix it.
Don't plan on ROMing so can't help you there, but there are a few available in the razr dev forum. Root was a breeze, and I find the stock Moto ICS experience fine even coming from JB.
Other than ease of an unlocked bootloader with the Gnex, about the only thing I miss is the slightly larger screen. But I get over that pretty quick with the MAXX's overall performance.
Hope that helps!
yeh I think Ill be in the same position as you. Id give up that stuff for better signal and better battery. Bar none. And Im just going to let my Gnex go, When I upgrade next year this time Im sure the S4 will be out. Hopefully that will be a star device.
S3 my wife. , S+ my son
When i decided to made the change (eventually) from classic to android phone, the battery was the main asset(not regret)moto droid razor maxx perfect for me

Love my MAXX. Resolution is fine as I am an old codger! Battery life is great as is the reception.
Just turned in a Galaxy S3 for poor reception and poor battery, back to my MAXX. Has probably tainted me against Samsung phones for ages!

[Q] SGS 2 or L9?

Hey guys, is there anyone among you, who owns both phones? What I expect is simply a fluid experiance (mostly browsing, xda, music, fb, whatsapp,...) and most important: being able to go a full day, with a lot of screen on time, because i really text a lot so which of those 2 phones would you all go for? Oh i gotta add, I can get a L9 for free with my contract and the SII would cost around 100€ (around 130 $).
Thanks in advance

i can say one thing amoled is good for texting (my experiance) i had a old zte blade amoled version with cm7 and with a black sms app (only 2g and data on) 5% hole from 8h till 12h in class texting at end of day at home whe i go to bed hole evening texting girl friend 70% noting else then sms
so i thing galaxy s2 with amoled and a good black back ground in texting app should last a day.
the lg l9 i text thehole day with some girls. humm on 2g wifi i could hold it till evening. hole day. but yeah i also go on the web. fb. so if i'm awake a 10 am go to bed 12pm it may have 10% left.
but on 2d without wifi it's shorter and 3g veven less.i found out texting eats more battery then internet browsing.i still think amoled is best for texting, but i dont have the sgs2 or any samsung anymore. but a friend had sgs1 i had a custom rom gb with black sms app 5h screen on with some fb. i was shocked. later i installed JB Gamer edition. screen on tim 2-3h mainly because sms app would go in black so was white... and white killes battery on amoled faster then black^^
i wanted the sgs2 but was out of stock... so i toke the l9 wanted to have dual core noting less.
still l9 is a mid end phone, the sgs2 was once a high end phone. so is still better. auto brigness, gorila glass, mhl out, otg, 8mpx. things the L9 hasn't
ps:
if you get a galaxy s2 get the real one not the sgs2 plus. the real 1.2ghz x2 cpu, mali400 gpu, 16BG
u have the other one with same cpu 1ghz x2 and gpu(powervr540) same as the LG L9 (no the best one). or the sgs2 plus has a 1ghz x2 but with a broadcome IV gpu, 8gb. also not the best one. dont know why the [email protected] they made 3 versions guess cheaper. the old one is still better.

Well the first I d do would of course be, installing a custom ROM I d never live with the stock ROM, or only with a heavily tweaked one, but I could also make one on my own

Stock ROM on an l9 should last you a full day. Even with the new jelly bean ROM and with GPS on my phone last all day with moderate use. If you like trying out new Roms with lots of features then go for the s2 it has worse battery life but better development support. The l9 might be dead with support but having jelly bean is nice

Well so far custom ROMs have serious problems which make them quite unusable. It's echo during calls or mute calls. Noone knows why this happens. mikegapinski made MIUI and AOSP on stock kernel with all stock audio files but it still happens. PACMAN by adamz667 and official CM have the same problem (bug reported in jira a month ago but still nothing changed). Some people have kernel panic without a reason too with modded kernels.
I''ve got both (but mine is sgs2 t989) and I think sgs2 is more stable and smooth. I also like l9, but if you have to choose go for sgs2.
Sent from my LG-P768 using xda app-developers app
I've had the S2 and moved on to L9. The problem with S2 is its display, which consumes a lot of battery, and even more under direct sunlight (100% brightness). Also, because it is SAMOLED PLUS, the display will most probably get burnt really fast - I've had 2 GS2s, once had like half a year and the display was already slighly burnt, the other one was used for almost 2 years and the display was burnt really, really badly.
On the other side, the battery can last very long, if you don't use your phone at all - just for calls and texting. But who buys GS2 just for calling?
So I got myself an L9 and I am very, very satisfied. The stock firmware is really fast and LG also added some very good features. I've had custom roms on every phone I had to the day, but I really see no reason to flash the L9. It is smooth and has everything that I need. Battery life is also great. I've been abroad the past week and you can imagine, how often did I use my smartphone - GPS, Wifi, browsing the internet, listening to music, playing games, taking pictures, everything with maximum brightness - outdoors. I've had absolutely no problem, or no need to worry about my battery. When I came home after 13-14 hours each day, there was still 30ish percent of battery remaining.
However, there are two cons of the L9: It doesn't have brightness sensor, so you need to tinker with it. It's not a big deal, since LG includes a brightness slider in the notifications. Another one is the GPS. It takes very long to get a fix, and it usually doesn't hold the signal for very long. I think this is repairable, I just need to finally get myself root privileges. Oh yeah, here comes the third one, L9 doesn't root as easily as S2 does.
So overall, I was satisfied with both, but will keep the L9, if I manage to fix the GPS. Otherwise, it seems like maybe S4 Mini for me.

About the gps, there are always tweaks for it and i also hardly ever use it... but did you guys already play with the settings in hidden menu? I guess you could see quite an improvement, if you add other gps servers and use lto or whatever it was called but thats too far off for now... well i really start to think, that your community will soon be able to count on me it's simply supercheap, looks good and got a grear battery backup, as far, as I can tell till now and maybe me and some of my friends will even be able to fix some bugs on your custom builds thanks a ton already guys and if there is any more criteria, that comes to your mind, just keep me posted!

What would you do...be honest

I would like to hear what you guys would do so read on. Here is a little background story.
So I have hadddd the galaxy nexus since it came out on verizon and love the stock feel and look. Six months ago I had a problem with my nexus and verizon sent me a GS3 which was an amazing phone compared to the nexus hardware wise. The battery was way better, the screen seem so much brighter, speaker much louder and did I say the batter was way better yet? So I kept the GS3 for about a month and a half and eneded up buying another galaxy nexus off craigs list Why you ask? Because I missed the stock experience even thou the GS3 was better in hardware I still loved the stock experience. I did flash aosp on the GS3 but there was always something that wasn't working properly and I'm sure you all know the feeling. Then about a month ago I sold the GS3, kept the Gnex and had an opportunity of buying a Note 2. Same thing here, huge batter life (lasted me about a day and a half), huge screen and loud speakers, pretty much a GS3 on steroids, and lastly it's very big so I would like something a little smaller. Here I am again finding my self using my Gnex all the time and the note 2 sitting. Why you ask? Stock experience is what I like best (my opinion). So here is what I have learned. I love stock android and I have realized that I have been flashing CM sine the HTC EVO, battery life is very important specially after owning a note 2 you get spoiled not having to look at battery percentage all day no matter how hard you use the phone, and a good camera.
Here is what I'm thinking since I'm on verizon with unlimited data:
Sell the Note 2 to get (and please tell me about your experience with the GS4)
1-Galaxy s4 (developer edition or the normal verzion phone?) - great hardware, camera, battery life? you tell me since you guys own it. And lastly how are the 4.2.2 and 4.3 rom ports to this phone since there is a GPE with same hardware, what are the problems with it if any or is it a perfect port?
2-Droid Maxx - close to stock android and great batter life, the bad side you have locked down bootloader and capacitive buttons
3-Moto X- love the form factor, close to stock android, same as droid maxx, on screen keys which I love but still dont know about batter life
In the end I am thinking about getting the GS4 due to its large batter, awsome screen and speaker and I would like to run aosp only on this phone if you guys who are running it could give me feedback on the roms out there I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
Let me add a number
4- LG G2- beautiful screen, what looks to be a great battery life and good camera, great speaker and edge to edge screen but will there be developers working on it to get CM or other aosp roms , and the UI looks worse than tw. Just unknown right now

GS4 has been nothing but great for me.. I wouldn't trade it for ANY of the other phones I've had in the past. The experience thus far has been second to none. One man's opinion. Battery life alone is a deal maker. On the other hand the camera is pretty darn good and the physical size and feel to me is perfection. Super thin and light. Even with a case it's noticeably lighter than my Rezound was stock. To me it's a no brainer.
I have a GS4 on stock unrooted firmware. It is easily the best experience I've had with Android. The 1080 screen is nothing short of phenomenal. I wasn't sure if I would notice anything over 720 (my GS3, N2, GNex) but there's definitely something to be appreciated.
As far as battery life, I get anywhere from 4-6 hours of screen on time. About 20-23 hours of total battery life, hitting the red at about 20 - that's without the power saving mode (lower brightness, adjust screen time, under clock from 1.9GHz to 1.3GHz). Coming from a GNex I'm sure you can appreciate the nightmare that is battery life on it.
Performance wise, even with TouchWiz this phone flies. Enable Force GPU Rendering and it's about as fluid as it gets.
Long story short, you may come to miss AOSP, but with minor customization you can at least simulate the experience. I say go for it.

I love my GS4 but make sure if you want to put any Roms on it to make sure its on the mdk build and don't accept the update. Get home and root right away. Also I originally got the 16 and ended up returning for the 32 gig. I had problems with SD card unmounting so I just rather not mess with it. Both my phones shipped from there warehouse with mdk builds.
Are the aosp builds stable for the gs4? What's broken?

I'm on a very recent cm 10.1 nightly (8/07 I think). There is a call audio hanging thing, but that seems to be fixed by a phone apk that is around page 123ish of the official nightly thread. Other than that and the horrendous bluetooth stack in aosp 4.2.2, it is very stable and everything seems to work.

That is what I wanted to know. So there are no problems with GPS, camera, any FC's, battery life, data issues and or any screen flickering, right?
Thanks again for all the input. Keep chiming in
If you are not a big flasher, I say wait for the Moto X. The S4 has the developer software but is it really worth paying more for software.
CM, aokp, and other ROMs have milestones that are stable. You can also go that route.

I went from the gnex to the s4 this week and a after just a few days I am in the same place as you were with your s3. The hardware improvement is fantastic and the battery life issue being gone from my life is almost worth it by itself. But I really miss the stock experience and especially the experience I had in the two weeks with 4.3, which made the gnex like a new phone again. Not being able to flash a stock rom is driving me crazy (the phone was being updated to me7 before I even left the store). I'd wait to see how the Moto X looks to you before you jump in on this one

So you understand going from stock android to TW is a tough move for some. So far I am really liking the moto X from all the reviews but Im still having a hard time to pay full asking for its hardware when compared to the other high end phone, because remember I will have to buy my next phone out right or used depending on what I decide to go with. I decided and have put my note 2 on craigslist for sale. I love the note but the phone is a bit too big at times.
I'm really liking all the hardware on the LG G2 but like I said earlier I'll have to wait and see if there is going to be devs working on it. Droid Maxx may also be a good pick due to its software and huge battery. After owning a Gnex you understand how battery life on your next phone needs to be like. The GS4 sounds looks really good too, maybe I'll just do a straight up trade with the note 2 for a GS4.

This is part of my problem, I love to flash different roms and try them out. So the newer update on the GS4 breaks rooting, correct? If I'm going to go with anything else other the GS4 I'll have to wait and see what the devs will be able to root, that is also an important note to take, at least for me.
Get the Developer Edition

Thanks.

Get the galaxy s4 dev edition straight from samsung. I have the normal verizon version and had to return it after a hard brick and they sent me the me7 updated version With the dev version you wont ever have to worry about a locked bootloader and have free reign to flash as you desire. There are sooooo many awesome roms for the device already and they just keep getting better. The sheer power of the s4 makes its possibilities pretty endless. So yeah. I suggest the dev edition s4. Hope this helps you in your quest for pure awesomeness!
Edit: if you werent aware the vruame7 update to the verizon s4 completely blocks custom recovery and an unsecure bootloader. There is no fix or workaround at this time. Root has been achieved but if you like custom roms the update is a huge downer.

Unfortunately for me, the way I feel about it is this.
If the boot loader isn't unlocked before 6 months of the phone release, then I am NO way selling it for a DEV Edition phone.
I would be selling the SG4, and getting the HTC One (granted it comes to VZW)
as I know that S-OFF will most likley come (basically boot loader unlock)
and if not, HTC and Verizon have a set up called HTC-Dev.
Once you purchase your phone you can go to the HTC-Dev website and unlock your phone, (voiding warranty of coarse, but I've sent them back with this plenty times)
I would rather buy a phone I can get on contract price and unlock it like with HTC, than buy the Dev Edition off contract.
The bounty is a getting higher and higher, hopefully someone will claim their well deserved pot O' gold.
Take the Galaxy S4 Google (Developer) Edition, beacuse the updates are managed by Google and not from Samsung.
So, you have always the latest update

Google edition is not the same thing as the developer edition. The google edition is only available for AT&T and t-mobile. It's sold by Google, while the developer edition has Verizon bands available sold by samsung

Thanks for the explanation
I have had my Gs4 for a mouth and a half and love it. The biggest difference would be its not stock android. But if your willing to root then you could flash the Google edition that Dubbsy has ported over to Verizon. Also if you don't want to worry about battery life you could buy a extended battery or an extra stock battery with a wall charger and carry that battery around. I currently run a ZeroLemon 7500 mAh extended battery and get 2 to 2 1/2 days of battery.

The Test of Time?

Now that this phone has been out for over a year, does anybody have any complaints?
How's the battery life?
Has it, or does it ever randomly freeze?
Anything you hate about it now that you've been using it for some time?
Lastly, I found this phone and the Nexus 4 new for around the same price range, the Nexus 4 being around $20 more expensive. Aside from the removable SD card on this phone and LTE support, and the potentially removable battery on the Nexus 4, are there any other differences? If you had a choice to go with either phone once again, and neither the SD card, LTE support, nor battery being an issue in making your decision, which would you go with, and why? I believe the only other difference would be the Android support, with the Nexus 4 running 4.4.2, and the Optimus G running 4.1.2.
In other words, my friend is stuck between making a decision between the two and doesn't know which to go with.
Lastly, can you root to 4.4.2 using the stock kernel?
Thanks!
I've had mine since November 2012. I've been running custom aosp roms since then. I do not get freezes, but I do occasionally get hot reboots every few weeks. No, you can't use stock kernel on 4.4.2 or any other aosp rom. Your last question doesn't really make any sense. The battery comes out exactly like the n4 battery comes out. I get 12-72 hours between charges with 2-5.5 hours of screen on time depending on what I do with the phone. I am still pleased with it and unless I break it I will not be upgrading until next winter.

I would say, all things considered (and I've got an E973 without expandable storage) that the OG, especially now with all the AOSP ROMs available, is like a jacked up N4. We get official LTE, more storage, and because of the cap keys we get more screen real estate. I wouldn't pay more for a N4 at this point. With a quad core processor and 2 GB of RAM, we should be able to run the latest android for quite a while.
no matter what kind of phone you have, there may always be some kind of complains. First question is like asking if this phone is perfect while nothing is.
Battery's been great for me on PA 4.4.2. don't random freeze. Hate is a strong word for something like a phone, i dont hate anything about this phone. I'm running 4.4.2. battery is removable on this phone. I really prefer sd card, so i probably would have bought this phone again. Nexus 4 may have better resell value tho.
This phone rocks. I've had it since November 2012. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

This is the best phone I have ever owned. I have had it since April of last year and have been running custom aosp ROMs on it for almost as long. My battery life usually lasts 15 - 24 hours depending on usage and screen on time. No freezes ever since I have had it. I have never had a complaint for this phone. I would pick this phone again and again and again. Plus the developer support is amazing for this phone.

I agree with the last couple posters. Have had the LGOG roughly a year. Usually by this point, I'm looking pretty actively for a hardware upgrade. But right now, I don't see anything out there that is worth spending money on to upgrade. Certainly there are better devices. But not so much better that I'm ready to jump ship. Yesterday, with a sort of light usage day, I had the phone off charger for almost 17 hours, had 2 hours 7 minutes of screen on time, and when I plugged in when I went to bed, still had 49% battery left. I'm running a full featured 4.4.2. ROM. I'm having no stability problems. I'll be here a while.

this is the first phone that i havent wanted to throw at a wall after a year of owning it. With a cache cleaner, it still runs like day one. The roms are great, and i love the LG UI, its got no bloat, and everything on it works great. i love the notification shade.
would buy again
The only thing I don't like about this phone is that the back of the phone is not another screen. I like bling on my back screen or it doesn't matter which side i pick up in the dark cuz I have to screens.
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
There isn't really anything to hate about it. Besides the non so good case choices for it and the less good camera then the international version has and also the blink notification on the front would be better. But it beats the nexus 4 in pretty much everything. The screen on the nexus had a worse color calibration for example. No LTE but wireless charging is nice. I give that to the nexus 4. If u run something like CM11 on ur LG G e970 u basically have a better version of the nexus 4 at ur disposal for less money.
