Anyone know of a way to hide the fact that my M9 is rooted?
Flixster app is still in the dark ages with a root check and they have no plans it seems to ever support rooted androids. I have several hundred ultraviolet movies that I can't watch on my M9 (or my old M7 for that matter).
I found Root Cloak for Exposed, but since Exposed isn't official for 5.1 and Root Cloak hasn't been updated since 1/14 I am at a loss.
It's actually the only reason I haven't rooted my N7 tablet since that's the only non-PC I can watch from at this point.
Try Hide Rooting Lite from the play store. I've had success with it in the past.

are you looking to just hide the superuser app from the app drawer? or actually mask the fact that root access is achievable?
Are you taking it to sprint and want to hide root? if you are i have never had any problems with having an unlocked and rooted phone with them over the past 6 years.

As I mentioned, the Flixster app for ultraviolet movies does not support rooted Android so they have some sort of root checker in the app that denies access if it sees the phone is rooted.
Not sure how it does it or what it's specifically looking for (SU? Busybox? etc) but when I had tried Root Cloak previously it didn't work on KitKat for the Flixster app and since it's been dormant I don't hold any hope it will on 5.1 either. I also don't want to install some shady Chinese ad-filled app that may or may not work (the prior recommendation above wasn't well reviewed on play store).

Hello,
If anyone can refresh my memory I would appreciate it.
I have had my atrix for several months. I rooted it almost immeditately after I got it with superoneclick... then the update came out and broke that.
I did not bother to mess with it for a while.
Now that the community has come out with gingerbreak and gladenable, I have rooted my atrix again...
So, to my memory lapse. superoneclick (I think) added another icon that was a non market app store. I think it started with a letter "C" but I cannot remember the complete name!
Is it possible to get this icon with gingerbreak?
Thanks!
Do you recall what this icon/app did?
That may help others remember.
Yes, the icon was a non market app store app.
I remember installing titanium back up using it.
The name started with a "C". Cyllia or cydia or something...
Thanks
I did not use SuperOneClick, as I just jumped on the Atrix bandwagon a few weeks ago, but I do know that Cydia is an unofficial market for the iOS.
Android does not have Cydia to the best of my knowledge. The only unofficial Market app that I know of is the Amazon Appstore.
It memory server me right you are asking about the option in settings/applications... If anyone has the location in root “data/data/??????” For the non market app on off option, let us know .Thank you and I hope that is what you where talking about.
Can anyone be able to fix Flixster app because it knows I am rooted and wont let me watch my ultraviolet movies?
Do you actually get an error that says "You are rooted, try again hacker"? At the very worst, this is temp root. Reboot and watch your flick, then re-root.
I'm having the same problem, it says "It looks like your device is rooted. Unfortunately, movie streaming is not supported on rooted devices for security and stability reasons." I am unlocked and permanently rooted on stock rom. How does this silly little app know I'm rooted? I have several ultraviolet movies I'd like to watch, this suxs! Does anyone know a way around this?
Try OTA rootkeeper. Looks like you can make a root backup, temp unroot, then reroot after you watch your movies
I don't know if flixster worked pre ICS upgrade cause I never tried it. BUT I cannot play the movies I own now afterwards using this app. Some kind of security issue when trying to play. No, I'm not rooted.
Good morning gents.
Rooted my wifes Kindle Fire HDX and installed superSU, other than the slight modification to disable the pesky lockscreen ads nothing else has been done to it.
Prior to the christmas update for Line Pop and Line Dozer, the games would work, first launch would say that because the device was rooted i would need to confirm if i would let the game monitor for cheat tools, which is fine with me so clicking ok would result in the game working perfectly fine.
Line Pop and Line Dozer have received christmas updates and this is where the problem starts, both games update just fine and launch just fine but on the loading screens they hang and give a connection failed error, from my brief investigations it seems that Naver have implemented a new apk security check to make sure the apk has not been tampered with but other than that ive no idea why theyre currently not working.
The APK's for the latest versions were downloaded through the 1Market store front, but even if i uninstall and use the APK from google play store i get the same issues.
Anyone willing to test these two games on their rooted kindle and confirm if they have the same issues?
Or someone with an unrooted 7" HDX see if the game works without root? As i imagine the entire suite of naver games are going to stop working for the kindle hdx when they get around to updating them to this new security routine.
Ironically, the latest updates work fine on my rooted galaxy s4 SC-04E.
Thanks!
You could try voodoo ota root keeper or something similar to to get rid of root temporarily to test on your own...

Yeah ive tried a couple root hiders, doesnt seem to help, not sure if the root-hiders are at fault or if the games are just litterally, broken for kindle now.

Do the apps come from the Google Play Store? If so, particularly if they have in-app purchase options, you will have issues unless your google account is added & framework is installed. Even then, sometimes you will have connection issues, but usually repeated starting will eventually connect & launch.
Hey there. I'm new to the community and don't know where to go so I went to the QandA subforum. Don't get mad at me for being a noob.
Anyway, two days or so, I finally rooted my Nexus 5. I used kingroot, and then proceeded to switch to SuperSU. Now, before I switched to SuperSU, I noticed a problem. It wouldn't let me make in app purchases. It would either say "Try and update Google Play Services" or it would do nothing at all. This problem is still happening even though Kinguser and Kingroot and all that good jazz is replaced by SuperSU. Any easy fix to this or any fix at all?

I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have mi pad 4 until yesterday my Disney plus app worked but now the Disney icon loads up then the app closes. I installed the app through apkpure as Disney plus is not on the Google play store. I have uninstalled the app and installed a historical version but that didn't work neither. Any help would be appreciated as I have toddler who uses the app quite heavily

Are you rooted? Try hiding magisk from the app. It may be that it's detecting root, but that's just a guess
I don't believe it is rooted. I just ran the APK. How can I check? Excuse my ignorance I am not quite that savvy
My Mi Pad 4 was showing incompatible version this morning. I sideloaded 1.61 (nodpi) from apkmirror and it was able to log back in again and stream. My initial install (split apk) was working for a long time. I suspect they depreciated support for older versions that forced the upgrade.

No need to excuse, no worries :good: You would know if you're rooted or not as it's a procedure you have to do yourself. So I'm pretty sure you'd recall doing it. If you bought the device second hand and haven't updated at all, there is a chance the previous owner could have rooted it. If you did wanna check, go to the playstore and search for root checker. Install and run it it'll tell you. Also if you're rooted, you'll most likely have magisk manager installed in your apps. See if that's there, but I doubt it.
See the other guys post above mine for a possible solution. Go to apk mirror website and search for the app version he suggested.
