[Q] Ubuntu Touch MOBiLE + Ubuntu PC = sending SMS from PC ?

Hi to all Ubuntu Touch MOBiLE and Ubuntu PC users, testers...
I am hesitating to change to this OS on both upper listed devices , so phone and pc also...
I had also some experinences with Linux / Ubuntu OS in PC, but the touch version is new und untested for me. My mobile device is listed in compatibility list, so its all ,,open,, to test it and pair with Ubuntu PC.
Im moment im using Windows PC with Android Phone (work), so i need to reinstall both systems.
Has somebody experince to pair Mobile device and PC , both with Ubuntu OS and managed the mobile phone from PC ? I ,,saw,, this option on promo video of Ubuntu Phone. I think its shouold be something like ,,HandOff,, on Apple products... But i need to be 100% sure, and i need to know all information about this function.
The reason , why im asking my question is, that im using android Phone for work daily ! I NEED to READ / WRiTE SMS from PC, and sometimes editing the contacts in my phone. So this is the MAJOR function, that im using yet with combination of Windows PC and Android Phone , with MyPhoneExplorer software/client. This combination works without problems !
The only reason to try to change is my aversion of Android phone, the old not upgradable Android version and of course the costs by Windows PC. If its the a free option to make a change to better, modern, than why not.. I think all users here knows the advantages of free open source OS, so i doesnt need to extend this think...
First , sorry for my English , and then..
Thank you in advance for your repyes , comments !
Ron
Hi,
Sadly, that's not possible yet. There's nearly no advantage in connecting an Ubuntu phone to an Ubuntu PC at the moment.

Android 5 Write Access

Hi,
i have this simple configuration.
Philips Andoird TV PUS6501 (Android 5) + External HDD
PC (Windows 10)
What i want is to copy files from my PC to the HDD wich is connected to the TV.
I heard this was possible with Android KitKat but since Android Lollipop the function is gone.
I heard what i want is possible if i get root and set up a Samba Server (wtf never done something like that before)
I heard root is possible but only temporary (with the dirty cow script) but i didnt find any tutorial for my TV nor did i recive any help in the Philips Android TV Thead.
So what can I do to get write access when the HDD is still connected to the TV?

Click to collapse
Share the files on your PC and use X-plore or ES file manager to copy the files from one to the other. Another possibility is using something like Cetus Play on the TV side. It can set up a simple web server that will accept uploaded files.

Install Ubuntu or Debian on Android Device?

Hi Geniuses! I tell them that I have a smartphone that they have given me and that the display is broken but I have managed to make it work from the PC and I use it to do tests and experiments since I can not buy the display.
I was seeing that several speak of installing Ubuntu or Debian on Android (ARM chip) and I came up with the idea of using the smartphone as a server, in fact if I could connect a disk by OTG I could use it very well.
Is it possible to install Ubuntu or Debian and use it as a server without the GUI interface? It is clear that I will not need it because the display is not functional hahaha. Only the touch works and I have it rooted and unlocked the bootloader.
Any ideas to start using it as a server?
My device is: Moto E XT1021
Hi there , you cannot install it directly in the device , you can however use an app like Linux Deploy (free on the play store) and it will work fine as a server
