[Q] Update Problem Lenovo P70-A (S129) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I had rooted my Lenovo P70-A (S129) and have installed custom recovery. Also deleted Google apps that I don't use. I couldn't update my forehead after that. I had twrp backup of original firmware, I restored that (this brought back Google apps), unrooted my phone using universal unroot, and flashed stock recovery (download from a Russian forum), even now update fails. Can someone help me sort out the problem? I need it badly.
Best Regards,
Abid

[Q] Coolpad 8720L custom recovery

Hi All,
Recently, I bought a Coolpad 8720L smartphone in China.
This is a TD-LTE phone with Android 4.3 installed.
This phone comes without Gapps.
I successfully rooted the phone with the Chiense version of VRoot (through PC connection), but I am unable to find a custom recovery for it, in order to install Gapps from SD card.
CWM and TWRP do not support this device yet.
This is a very popular phone in China, it is sold through China Mobile offices as their standard 4G phone.
Does anyone know where to find a custom recovery?
Thanks for your help!

[Q] perfect way to get updates on rooted lenovo a7000?

What is the perfect way to get a Lenovo a7000 firmware updates on a rooted phone? I recently unrooted my Lenovo a7000 which had a maxritz cwm recovery installed. I installed stock recovery on it. Then while installing update my phone rebooted and I got the following error.

I messed up my phone big time when I fetched the update using OTA snatcher and tried to force install it using TWRP and bricked my device. However things are normal now after I wiped off my phone and installed stock ROM. I am getting update alerts now and want a fool proof way to install OTA updates. Please advise. I have xposed installed too with gravity box and youtube adaway modules.

Setup Wizard has stopped working

Hi guys!
Today I rooted my tablet (Android 4.2.2), but unfortunately I deleted some Google Apps so I decided to bring back factory settings. After that I always get "Setup Wizard stopped working" and can't get through it.
I can't even go to settings.
Can you help me?
Thanks!
FYI: Factory reset doesn't bring back deleted apps. You will have to restore your tablet with the original firmware or if you have a custom recovery like TWRP, then you might able to reinstall the missing apps that way. Without more details on what kind of tablet, we can't provide more detailed assistance.
My tablet is Lifetab (Lenovo) E10320.
I tried to install GApps for 4.2.2 (zip file) through recovery mode (I don't have TWRP installed) but after few seconds from start I get "Installation aborted".
E: Any ideas?
Gapps will only work through a custom recovery. Very unlikely that a random Gapps package would even work for stock software. Generally it doesn't. If you don't have a custom recovery, then you will need to restore your tablet to stock with whatever tool and firmware Lenovo has for that. This would be the easiest, best way to complete this task anyway.

You might check that forum out. I'm sure they have a lot more knowledge about these devices then most people here on XDA are going to have.

Lenovo A5000 Random App crashes

Hello all,
I have problem with stock lolipop rom 5.0.2 s125 version. When I flashed it I installed few apps like Lightning browser, Apollo player, Duel Links (game), and few others. They were working without problem and after few hours they kept crashing when I want to start them, but apps that are built in rom are working normaly. I installed TWRP 2.8.7.0 and flashed SuperSU root file, baseband fix ( because I lost imei when formated phone in SP Flash Tool, because couldn't get rid of TWRP even after flashing to stock few times), then removed all google apps manualy using Root Uninstaller. Later apps that I installed keep crashing when I want to open them, and fixing permisions in TWRP didn't help, so im doing now factory reset in TWRP. If it doesn't help what should I do? All custom roms based on CM12,1 have bugs that are problematic for me so can't use them.
Any help is wellcome
EDIT:
On this screenshot you can see that after restoring my backup of NVRAM imei is back until new flash or factory reset, all is back exept BT addres and SN number, so how to pemanently(or like it was made in factory) put back in all this data?
my lenovo A5000 can't open all the apps and can't reach a signals even the settings can't open . how to fix this ?

OTA for rooted phone

Hi all,
As I understand it is impossible to get OTA on rooted phone with costume recovery.
What is the solution for updating the phone?
As far as I can see the only solution is to flash complete ROM whenever it is released, but that means factory reset, re-installing the apps, and re-setting all the system settings to my liking everytime, and that just sucks.
Is there a better solution?
I remember that with the galaxy s3 I had it was possible to get flashable zip of the OTA updates, I couldn't find a similar thing for the Honor 9
Read this: Root with magisk while keeping stock recovery
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/how-to/guide-root-using-magisk-stock-recovery-t3718203
I just installed the latest miui 9 beta ota in TWRP with no problems.
After flashing the beta (before rebooting) I flashed TWRP and majisk. When I finished flashing I cleared cache/dalvic and rebooted with no problems.
I accidentally posted it in the wrong forum (that what happens when you have 2 phones to manage I guess)
Was supposed to be in Honor 9 forum
