I'm on Siyah Kernel which supports dual booting. My phone was running fine on ParanoidAndroid (Android version 4.1.2) as primary ROM, and my secondary was Revolution HD (a stock based ROM).
But then I decided I should try out LIQUIDSMOOTH [4.1.2] so I flashed it as my new secondary ROM. This wasn't my first time flashing a ROM, so yes, I know how to do it, wipe cache, wipe data, wipe Dalvik etc.
But here comes the issue: I can't boot into secondary ROM. I then force restart my phone by holding the power button and boot it into the primary Rom, but I now have no mobile connection. After unlock the lockscreen, the phone isn't asking for my SIM code as usual. I now can't make a call or receive one. Does any body know what happens?
PS: I've removed the secondary ROM and reflashed the primary one, but I still have no mobile connection.
I've even restored my phone under CWM Recovery with the back up I made 3 months ago to Samsung stock Rom but the phone still can't recognize the SIM card. I have no network data what so ever. My phone is not a phone right now cause I can't make or receive any phone call. I don't know what to do any more. Can somebody help me.
Try reflashing your modem or try another one
Never mind. I used Odin to flash Samsung official stock ROM and my phone recognizes the SIM card now.
I am currently on the unofficial cm10.1 rom by JamieD81. My phone says unknown baseband even though i have already flashed the ucmb4 modem and it also can't read any sim card. This happened to me on several other roms also. Flashing a modem doesn't seem to have any effect. I am using twrp. My phone is unlocked.
Return to the stock version ROM and modem to recover your baseband and get your sim card recognized.
Then just flash the ROM. Your modem isn't affected by flashing a ROM.
I go into recovery wipe cache and dalvik and fix permissions in advanced. It always recognizes after that for me. Not sure what v causes it. I was told just fixing permissions works but if I'm in recovery I'm going to wipe!

Thanks your method worked.
I have been a user of Neat Rom Lite and Rootbox. I have been using Rootbox recently.
By updating from 7-16 Nightly to 7-19 Nightly (dirty flash) , I have lost my IMEI number and consequently cellular connection. Using EFS Pro, I've been able to recover my IMEI. After a day, I had to reboot my device randomly and IMEI went missing again!!
This time, I have used Rom Nuke and flashed NeatRom Lite and found the IMEI still missing. I've used EFS Pro again and now my s2 is in a bootloop. It doesn't get past the Samsung Logo!!
Need Help!!
Sry if posting in the wrong thread! :crying::crying:
Lost IMEI?? Is it showing zeroes or something wrong...?? I had lost IMEI once after installing some RIL app.. But after a fresh reinstall of OEM firmware i got it back... Try reinstalling the stock unrooted firmware.!!
fix bootloop by going in recovery and wiping data, cache, dalvik cache
Don't dirty flash. To risky and not recommend mate.
Hi, I do have a backup so I am not in a panic.
I have read the faqs but I didn't understand what should I do.
If anyone can please help or point me to other source information not including the FAQS I would be very happy
I have a i9300 phone installed twrp-2.8.6.1-i9300.tar on it through Odin.
works like a charm.
did a complete backup to everything just in case the custom roms don't work. (my phone has 4.3 stock rom, works 100% fine)
I tried installing
justarchi new lolipop rom,
final omnirom 4.4.4
cyanogenmod nightly cm 11.
None of them let me use the sim, no phone calls or mobile networks( mobile internet)
before installing them I always did factory reset and davlik and cache wipe.
also after seeing that I can't make phone calls I tried to use twrp restore to restore the EFS folder but it still doesn't make the custom rom work with sim (phone calls and mobile network) .
any ideas ?
p.s when restoring to the original stock rom from the backup it works fine.
Hi all i need some help here really! i installed CWM 4.0.4.6 installed oden, flashed my xcover with cwm booted in cwm installed CM10.0 then Gapps stucked a long time on cyogenmod logo so rebooted in recovery wiped factory and reset cleared partisions and cleared dalvik cache booted up and worked now i dont have network coverage tried vladir 4.4.4 tried other roms still no network, and with my stupidity never made a backup of my stock rom so im basically f##ked like i understand i needed to make a backup of my baseband and efs file so how the hell can i fix this maybe a stock firmware or rom? if so where can i get one im from South Africa, tried Sammobile site for stock rom or original firmware but you have to be a premium user to download there if someone could maybe give me a link or some guidance i will be more than happy?
